PeterC0523 Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Probably hopeless, but worth a shot. What'd you guys think? Will Shawnee stick to their CURRENT projected opening date Fri Dec 10?
skidude Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Who cares, it shawnee, and I will be up at Kmart then
Glenn Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Who cares, it shawnee, and I will be up at Kmart then <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well for the rest of us who dont have the time/money to get up to Vt it is of interest.
PeterC0523 Posted December 6, 2004 Author Report Posted December 6, 2004 Have they blown at all yet? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep. According to their conditions page they're currently making snow on "five" trails, terrain park, and snow tubing. What a waste making snow on the tubing park. Wish they would move those blower over to another trail.
skidude Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Idk, its still shawnee. Even all the other years when I was stuck around here it still wasn't appeling. Try to do a day trip to NY if you are really in withdrawl.

Either way, it will still be the first open in the poconos. Plus you live in philly, I live real close to shawnee, it becomes more appealing when its only 20 min away.

We have a year old puppy and can't leave her home alone that long.

I guess snow is better than no snow...Even if it is shawnee

PeterC0523 Posted December 6, 2004 Author Report Posted December 6, 2004 thats a real cool looking dog <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks! We chose her breed because we thought that she was pretty unique. Turns out, she's a dog with a cat-like personality. She cleans herself all the time, loves just chilling on the bay window, and likes to rub up against you like a cat.

Glenn Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Yeah, I was kinda joking about posting the pic, but pretty funny anyways
soldier32 Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 yea today there was a picture in the paper (pocono record) of shawnee blowing and it looked like they had a lot of snow. i think they'll get open by the 10th

Few being 4 or less Edited December 6, 2004 by dthmtluncrn
PeterC0523 Posted December 8, 2004 Author Report Posted December 8, 2004 I think they will be open, but as always with only a few trails. Few being 4 or less <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd probably go even if they only had 1 top to bottom slope open. UNFORTUNATELY, they just pushed back their opening date to the 17th.
skifreak Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 They aren't opening on the 10th. They now want to try and open by the 17th, if the forecast stays the way its been I believe they will open then.
Glenn Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 The 17th should happen. If it doesn't I'm moving.
