4th grade snowpass

just came across something if anyone has kids going into 4th grade...

Starting in September, go on to skipa.com and you can download an application for a ski booklet for all of pa. It entitles your 4th grader 3 free lift tickets to all 20 pocono resorts (with full paying adult). It only costs $15.00

Pretty good deal. I am definitely checking it out in September.

This scheme has been running for some time, it's worth doing if your kids fall in the age range. Vermont does the same for 5th graders, even better value IMO (an you don't have to live there either).

The 4th grade PA Snowpass is a great program! You get a book of coupons which generally includes 3 lift tickets to each of the PA resorts along with special offers to many of the ski/snowboard shops (including Buckman's). I believe that to use the free tickets an adult has to buy a ticket.

There are some areas who don't participate and Spring Mountain offers a free season pass to all 4th graders (at least they used to, check their website or call them to be sure) instead.

This program isn't going to get your 4th grader skiing for free all season at your home mountain but if you want to try a bunch of different places you can save a bunch of money and get your 4th grader lots of time on the snow.

There are other states like VT who have similar programs so search the web and be sure to sign up early. Most programs have a cut off date prior to the season starting.
