    ?????

this thread was retarded when it opened and still stands as evidence to how retarded people can be please let this one die like it did before.
  2. I agree down slanting the rails would be great with an urban style approach.
  3. I think it's pretty clear their opening friday if they're saying it over the phone to people and as for time I would guess normal opening time, but who knows with them also I bear their going to have a sick set up in both parks judging by the snow they've got in both.
  4. I hate to break it to you skierboy but most of the reasons you've been seeing rocks near the lift is contruction they layed all that rock down as a make shift road for the construction vehicles so they don't destory the ground more then they need to; that said it would be nice to see a camera or two over on the other side of the mountain.

Just about every mountain in PA doesn't rely at all on natural snow because we don't get nearly enough to help granted it does prove we have more ideal conditions to make snow but you don't need snow to know that with the temperature the humidity and so on.
  6. I just had a thought what if they try to open the full mountain with good terrain and park, so they might've actually seen that thread on waiting to open the parks but instead of waiting to open the park they're waiting to open the mountain entirely?
  7. Word, high rails also keep the little kids off of 'em besides they weren't that high I think the subaru was a little excessive but otherwise height was solid for the rails.
  8. I hope they don't make a superpipe like rowsdower said learn to walk before you try and run, I mean they struggle with their pipe but I say if they have some trouble maintaining their pipe; practice by making some full snow quarters maybe at the end of the jump line or on the side of cascade or at the bottom of black bear, so they can really get how to manage the transition down besides who wouldn't want to see a nice 10 foot all snow quarter granted the snow in the state and so on would make it really hard to pull something like that off but hey we can dream can't we?
  9. you should try and edit it into some kind of crazy time lapse.
  10. I just don't see a way to open thursday after the crap weather they got dealt yesterday and the lack of snow making possible tonight, friday they'd have an extra day to really lay it down on all the trails I mean just think of the snow quality after all that rain they need to lay down atleast 3 more inches.
  11. When you're in school or working, those weekends and holidays count also none of the people I ride with could ever make a week day or nights.
  12. I vote friday because I'd love to be there all day, and have a good excuse to call out from work for it.
  13. Well then here's the firs constructive piece of input for the parks before they're even open, HIPS please put in a couple of decent sized hips and maybe a nice sharks fin.

    BC Rail Jam

I hate to say it but, it was a pre-season rail jam no big thing six or so rails on some snow a week or two before bear opened nothing to really state that they are behind and aren't able to compete with the big guns; but whatever it's over and people have made some really good points in here. All that shit aside bear's got one of the best parks I've ridden and like many of you I've been all over the east coast and some parts of canada, and with everything bear does through rider and customer input is right on and they've used it to the best of their advantage which means they will continue to compete and hold a very VERY close second if not even tied with boulder for park quality. Also B.B. does contract out to MTN. Creek for park stuff which means if they continue this year as I believe they will STA will be doing the B.B. parks as well as MTN. Creek. So who's hoping for an opening by the weekend?
  15. you guys do everything by machine don't you, also what're the prices before the season pass discount?
  16. I'd also love to see a set of say 6 or so rails set up in a sort of railjam or comp set up, so you drop in choose from two or three rails come down choose from another two or three and then maybe even another row of features after that at the bottom; just something to really hike and session and that should also cut down on people crowding the trails because most people crowding a trail are hiking and sessioning one or two rails, so make a sort of rail park and you'll have more space to really make a flowing park with multiple lines and hits that you can hit and not really have to wait for.
  17. My god that is some of the best news I've heard today and just the image I needed to deal with the last day of classes, but let's hope they can pull together an opening as soon as possible! Also mark thanks for the update!
  18. I think they should just make the lift their replacing a park only lift so then it'll cut the amount of people on the quad in half; it would also move a lot faster because no one would really be falling or struggling to get on or off the lift. Also it could be a good way to make park passes happen, in order to use the lift you need a park pass any opinions on this?
  19. YES! you've got it an actual line of jumps especially some BMX dirt style jumps, I mean it seemed like they just didn't know what to lay down along the skiers right of cascade but I hope they put that butter box thing back in.
  20. when you get the off peak you can never really ride especially if you're in school and working, with the unlimited you've got a lot more options as for when you can ride.

Yeah I wasn't trying to get into a comp for free, I wanted to get in on it for free if there wasn't a comp I'd front 10 bucks to ride a comp who cares. Also I think I get what the statement meant, just that if they don't blow before saturday no jam; also I totally agree who cares about 4 or so rails it's better to just wait it out until mid to late next week.
  22. I think they need to stop putting features as close to the landing as they were because I almost killed a few kids coming away from the cliff, I think it's a pretty cool idea maybe bad placement though?

Hm, I have to be in langhorne by 6:30 I wonder if I can make it back the 45 from bear to my house then the hour to langhorne all before 6:30... I think it's worth a try.

    Bindings

I'd say union, rome or ride all are bomb proof and have great tech and union has lifetime warranty on base plates and rome backs it up with a 2 year warranty on their stuff; but what nick said is a good point maybe bring one or both of your boots with you and see how they fit in the bindings when you're looking. One last thing I would recommend finding a binding with highback rotation it will make all the difference in the world as for comfort when riding!
