  1. I saw three tiny kids wearing BC race team shit rolling up in cascade around the cliff and down flat down and one of them totally blocked off the d.f.d. and a snowboarder and a skier almost killed them both and finally one boarder slowed down and just made the kids move, I don't get what the race teams attraction is to the parks I mean they took timberline and completely revamped it and changed it all up for racing they have a trail, stay out of the parks.
  2. Yeah I have to say that this thread is dead on I didn't even see this and posted something very similar in the park patrol thread and it's really the only way to get the problem taken care of, but one thing I just thought about it's really not fair that we haven't already gotten some kind of control around the parks I mean go to the other side of the mountain on a NASTAR day and try and ride timberline, just try it I dare you now think about that they get all of these things for nastar but the parks never have that kind of controlled entrance something with a large up slope, some stairs and so on needs to happen now.
  3. I think one way to solve the problem is just to make the parks hard to get to I remember bagging on blue for those stairs and all that but it was actually a very good idea; I mean think about it people go through the parks because they resemble any other trail only with jumps and rails make a large mound of snow or something you have to work to get up over and down to get in, then people are less likely to go in. On top of something like that have people actually in the park to get the gapers out; I was talking to a mtn. creek local yesterday and apparently their park crew has instituted a 0 tolerance policy if they catch you in the park (you being a gaper) they cut your pass and take you down. This is what we need at bear some sort of combination of a deterrent on entering, some signage just putting it right there you come in and don't follow the rules you're out no excuses no arguements, then the last line of defense is the pass cut.
  4. I've been out of town all week for the on snow demo at stratton and I will say conditions until thursday were comparable to bad conditions back home, so someone needs to tell me is it worth driving out today after 5 or even this weekend?
  5. Burton examples of how things have gotten shitty, lips are getting cut because people are "getting hurt" (gapers who shouldn't be in the parks), security coming down on us when we were there for our CUSTOMER APPRECIATION DAY; we got hastled because we had our boards inside we were told by our guy in guest services we could keep 'em inside 'till board check opened and this guy even talked to the guy who said it and still hastled us. Then there was this past weekend when my friends and I were threatened with "ejection from the premises" if we kept our language up (one of us called another one an ass hole because they lied about not having money they owed the other and then went and got food) or when we got hastled during the open house of the new hotel by security for looking at the new features for this year. All in all people have just gotten a lot more uptight things are no longer as relaxed it's beat but I still love the people who ride at bear and the park crew knows what's up so it's a good reason to stick around, well that and it only being a 45 minute drive is legit.
  6. Well I think I've figured it out I really do think I've got the gaper syndrome and attitude, it's that they don't like hearing how they should or where they should ride because they've spent all of their years (or lack there of) riding where ever and how ever they want, then you put them at the top of a park where some kid either older or a lot younger then them is telling them or asking or just conversing; either way they are getting something about having to follow some sort of rules for riding a trail or set of trails and they also just don't understand what goes into making a park nor do they care they assume it's just like any other trail on the mountain.
  7. Nikwax techwash works miracles on every sort of stain in outerwear no matter the color my white DC pants after riding for a week or two in dirty conditions came out looking brand new in one wash with it.
  8. Super soft and Super flexy I wouldn't like that in the park but some people do.
  9. Dialed bindings absolutely solid performance and quality, what size boot are you?
  10. Try Human Zoom Bikes and Boards in Manyunk they are a Lib-Tech dealer and I believe got some of those boards.
  11. Okay on top of what glenn said about magne the other point is to add to the contact points along the edge using the "serrated edge" means you have I believe seven contact points along your edge as opposed to two so when you're turning or stopping on ice you have a more positive edge hold; now I've ridden both the skate banana, the TRS, the danny kass, the riders choice and the darkseries. For what kind of riding you're describing I would recommend either the TRS or maybe the Riders Choice, kind of along the same lines but IMO lib-tech despite being made by the same parent company (mervin mfg.) they are of better quality. Lastly I don't really know where you stand on a banana rocker board but if you're neutral or open to the idea look into a TRS with banana (includes magne) or wait until the 08/09 season when just about every board from lib and gnu will have it, also next year you'll see a bean based plastic top sheet. (eco friendly)
  12. I don't know how to say this nicely and in a way that will not offend everyone on here, has anyone felt like over the past two years the atmosphere around/at bear has changed as far as rider/staff and management interaction and support I feel like this year their coping out on a lot of things and letting a lot slide that didn't last year and that things are kind of falling apart; maybe I've had bad days recently or I've been there on their bad days who knows but what does everyone else think?
  13. I think people are just annoyed they spent 275 plus for a pass which they are seeing they don't need theoretically but legally they know they need it just in case, I'm right there too I feel like it's totally beat I pay 275 for a pass when I see people without passes or tickets or with other peoples passes riding with no problem.
  14. Yeah like nick is saying same thing here we were digging out the small staircase with one of the park crew guys a weekend or two back and we asked someone nicely to be careful on the jumps because they could get hurt by someone landing on them or crashing into them and that their just rolling over the lip wasn't good for the jump; long story short we got yelled at by the dude and he tried to start a fight with us. Bear Creek you need to step your game up on rider relations I've been bummed out the past few times I've come up first it was a bad experience with security at the deck, then it was how management is saying the parks are unsafe it's not that their unsafe it's that people who shouldn't be in the park or parks are in there just taking it hard. So please get park crew or ski patrol to get on this so the parks are legit. again I love Bear for what it's been and what it can be don't disappoint me.
  15. What you're thinking of is burtons "secret stash" they do it every year at a different mountain in the world they go and make an all natural park they don't put it on a map or anything you gotta find it, it's pretty cool kinda reminds me of kingvale which is fucking SO cool you guys should try and find the transworld with the article on that!
  16. Their lips are so different because different people build them and the management makes some calls on that stuff, like that table on black bear that had a good lip at first but then two people got hurt so management called out they needed to cut the lip and make it smaller so it was harder to get hurt on so it's not totally park crews fault on some things and also the reason you're seeing or not seeing things set up in certain ways in the parks; I mean I really think we could have better set ups in both black bear and cascade if they implemented a park pass system, because I'm guessing the people who got hurt on black bear had little to no idea what their doing; not to mention I had a very unpleasant run in with a very rude dad and his very little kid on the cascade jump line over the weekend. So I guess my only real suggestion is to police your parks better keep these people out and make it known if you're rude inconsiderate or just not following park rules you either get booted from the park or your pass pulled because this dad basically tried to start a fight with my friend when we asked him very politely mind you if he could not stand in the landings of jumps because it wasn't safe and if his little girl would mind not riding over the lips so they didn't lose pop so no one got hurt riding the jump line. Oh one other suggestion I saw earlier high rails aren't always awesome I rode the flat down when it was like a foot if not less off the ground SO fun it helped to get over my issue with gapping to FS board and gap 270 to tail slide.

Yo everyone should go G-spot and Spectrum board shops is having their customer appreciation today so be there you'll see us out there.
  18. I was talking to andy friday night and he said they already had some things in the works for something like that but that it's very up in the air right now but if it did happen and he said big if, it would be on the other side of the mountain from cascade and black bear; I think they should so something like they had at summit like 4 or so years ago just clear out a few trees off the side of timberline and put in some log and rock jibs.
  19. Wait is it a rome binding that had the non ladder trap on your toe that broke, if so we've had like 4 pairs of rome bindings come back with it this year, rome said it's been a common thing more so on the 390 then any of their other bindings so either make a trip to your local rome shop and if they know what their doing they should just give you one. seeing as it's a warranty issue if they ask for money hit rome up direct and they should take care of you; you might even get some stickers or a shirt with your part!
  20. They do have wider flow rails they just don't put them out, I saw one in the family park before the last warm snap but I don't really like the wide ones, also what the hell is the DD/rail?
  21. either flatten the side on skiiers left of the pipe and make the other side in a nice quarter pipe/hip and use the rest of the area for more jumps and rails, or move the big staircase to that side so it has better placement orrr make the area into a rail garden with rope tow; however it goes please take out that huge wallride as well because like everyone's saying no one uses it and it breaks the flow of the park up.
  22. anyone riding today or ride yesterday because I think I'm heading up tomorrow if it's worth it any opinions?
  23. Yo huge props to the tune shop, about 3 weeks ago or so I had one of my rome toe straps break and they hooked me up and made something really quick to get me back out there and it's held up nicely while I'm waiting for a replacement from rome thanks guys!
  24. I think math can go die even though without it we wouldn't have quadratic side cuts and no magne-traction and a lot of things in the winter sports industry but seriously this thread is everything I've spent this past week just waiting to end thanks to everyone for making me remember how terrible I'm doing in math. why not just ask mark I'm sure he's got all that some where.
  25. someone said earlier they wanted an up gap down and I hear that or maybe a box or rail or something off the cliff!?
