  1. The 4 at the shootout from PARA were : Bergen-Blue Tommy-Sno Lauren-Blue Kelly-Camelback If you look at the Live-timing site it gives you the club for each kid rather than just the region. Good luck figuring out where each kid is from at the Whistler Cup. If I remember correctly they list them by country. You could take each name from the USA and search it in USSA to see their club.
  2. The Whistler Cup and the Whistler Shootout are 2 different events. Here's how it works for the J4's. The top 2 girls and boys from each eastern state qualify to race in the shootout. The shootout is held a day before the Future Stars event at the same venue. 18 boys and 18 girls race 3 SL and 3 GS runs in one day. The the top 2 from the shootout qualify for the Whistler Cup in Whistler. There they race against the top kids in the world. I believe each USSA region gets to send 2 boys and 2 girls to the cup for a total of 20 from the USA. The results that you linked above are very confusing. Go to www.live-timing.com. The shootout was on 3/18/07. I could be wrong on the total # but you get the idea. I'm not sure how it works for J3's.
  3. You are correct. It's official! I heard from a very reliable source that Blue will re-open. In December!
  4. I doubt you will see them cancel SG. With the crazy weather these days they have to get races in. Cut the events and you have even less chance of having a WC circuit. I was waiting to post it so I wouldn't get in trouble from the PASR police. I read about his "waist steering" method. Sounds like a bunch of crap. I wouldn't waste my money to go to a clinic.
  5. Did you hear your buddy Bode is the SG champ? I'll bet he got twisted that night!
  6. I don't want to argue. I'm just calling you on a point that you gave me endless shit about. By the way, I stumbled across those 2 posts when I was trying to figure out who Gary Dranow is. Remember............you didn't want to tell me who is, so I went looking for the thread. And Blue was open until 5 yesterday so you should reconsider about letting Jeff and Doug in the Moose Pee Pool! (Who the hell closes a ski area at 1:00?)
  7. 1. I don't care when they started. Ski racing has been tape delayed for years so don't even try that angle. You broke your own rule. 2. You didn't shoot anything except yourself in the foot. Now relax and admit I caught you breaking your own rule. Relax Ski, because of all your bitching about posting results in the header, I can't open a thread about racing. I don't care but think it's very ironic that you as the racing expert posted the exact same info just 2 seasons ago. The very thing that you gave me so much shit about.
  8. Knock it off with the results in the header!
  9. So with no lodge services there is NO chance of them buying chicken fingers either! You just made my point. I give it 2 years before your bitching about BB management.
  10. No sarcasm. REALITY! Why would a mountain keep the park open for a bunch of kids who have season passes, are not old enough to drink and don't rent equipment? Is the price of the chicken fingers they might buy going to make up for the overhead of having to run the lift, open the lodge and staff the ski patrol? Not to mention all the grief management would have to hear every time a feature isn't raked perfect.
  11. Exactly! Talk about a waste of money. "We are going to be open but only for the park!" Wake up people.
  12. Team FGT needs a private lounge for us to drink in after the race league! I lined up some strippers cheerleaders for the league.
  13. Your as stupid as my comment about the snow cave if you think that's my picture! Idiot. Have your Mom sign your waiver. After Sunday anyone with a signed waiver can ride at BC until the Snowflex installation starts.
  14. Or you guys could push all the snow into the new hotel area but up against the old hotel. Then we could go off the roof of the old hotel into the new hotel! We could also make the new hotel a snow cave when we are done with it and then you wouldn't have to pay to build the new hotel! Of course, we would also sign a waiver. How does that sound Mark? Oh.........we need a few rails too.
  15. We gave you chance to come to our team. Now look out, here comes Team FGT! AND we drink! We make Bode look like an amateur!
  16. He qualified for Piche. He must have declined or you would be going to Gunstock this weekend.
  17. There are definitely discretionaries to make it to Derbies. This is the case for all 3 derbies. They are selected by the age chair. I don't think there are any for postseason events. I could be wrong. Many times kids decide not to go to a postseason event and this allows the next lower finisher to go. They usually just go down the list until a kid accepts. Sometimes people refer to these as discretionaries when in fact they are just unfilled spots that would go unused.
  18. State Team is the top 9 boys and 6 girls(Basically it's the # of Future Stars spots) State Team varies with each age group. I don't know how other states select for postseason. I think it's up to each state. USSA allocates X number of slots for each state and I think it's up to them how they select. As for the quota thing................Some people are honest and others are not. They really aren't breaking any rules just twisting them. They are only hurting kids, theirs because they get killed at states and others because they don't get a chance to compete.
  19. I disagree. The quota system in PARA is so screwed up to begin with. There were probably 15 girls and 20 boys that shouldn't have even been at derbies. There are plenty of kids that didn't make the derbies due to there divisions quota that would have beaten the bottom 15.(Most of them are from the east) They should be at derbies, not some kid who made it because his division had more slots due to enrollment. I know there needs to be a method for derby selection but there are divisions padding their enrollment by having every kid under 12 join PARA just to help their quota. Then the kid gets his ass kicked by a kid who barely made it. What kind of message does this send all the kids? If you based the State Team on quotas it would make it even more unfair. The only way is for them to race head to head and if you fall or screwup, so be it. This is the only way for the kids to know where they REALLY stand. There are no discretionary spots. The spots are allocated by USSA for postseason. The only way to get an extra spot is if there is an absolute tie which can't be broken. Ridge was 1 point short. It stinks for him but that's the way it is.
  20. You can't really use cumulative because all the kids don't race each other at qualifiers. Derbies is the only place 4/5 kids from the entire state race.
  21. Top 9 boys and top 6 girls at the derbies. He missed it. They start with a clean slate when they go to derbies. Wow. Blue kids went 6 for 6 in all categories.
  22. I was at Placid. Did I see you? Not sure.
