  1. just checking to see if anyone's kids are in blue mountain freestyle competition program. my son is signing up this year, and wanted to hear parents experiences with it.
  2. time to buy is now, while everything is 40%-50%off problem is that many popular sizes are now gone. I usually start shopping in may for the next season. You never want to buy current season $$$
  3. Yes the flows are really nice bindings. They have evolved since 2012. Sporting the ability to act like traditional or rear entry bindings. They also have a hybrid strap binding which give the more traditional feel (my choice over the open toe fusion strap) Wouldn't go beck to traditional bindings
  4. Picked up Never summer ripsaw 156 Flow fuse bindings New pair of flow Hylite focus boots To add to my growing quiver
  5. when you have to pay for a family's worth of season passes, it is a budgeting tooll which will allow you to take a much smaller hit in 7 smaller payments during summer, rather than big lump sum around holiday time when budget sucks anyway
  6. ebates is a site that if you go there first then they link you to the shopping site you would normally got to to buy things, they give you an auto rebate in the form of a check or paypal transfer quarterly They also have a plug in for chrome and firefox browser that will auto alert you fi the site you are shopping on has a rebate it works pretty good, so far I have gotten about $400 back on purchases I would have made any way the % varies by store, and sometimes daily I also recommend active Junky which does same thing, but for outdoor shops only. thier payout is usually better that ebates, but today's 16% from ebates is much better than ActiveJunky . its all automated, and after sign up that is all you have to do, but shop nothing to send in... just have to wait till end of quarter to get money
  7. Ebates is having a 1 day special 16% ebate on many stores including backcountry.com Backcountry is also having some huge sales on snowboarding/ski equiptment for example many flow boots and bindings (snowboarding) are at approx 45% discount add to that a 16% rebate on total order. there are 150 other stores participating so check others out as well, if you have had your eye on new gear for next season
  8. The payment plan is brand new, You should work a deal with Blue MT to Allow you to sell season pass at a Employee/family discount many mountains have such a plan, in which you get a small commission and the buyer gets a discount of friends and family. You have proven that you can bring people to the table..... Just sayin...
  9. My Son Decided that he wanted to join A snowboard team this year. Based on our experience with his private lesson from the coach at blue mountain we are Finally Drinking the Kool aid, and want to get in on the season pass payment plans. It would be really nice if anyone has any promo codes, that can be used for a season pass thanks
  10. Not a noodle midflex all mountain

  13. Guys just a heads up all sports protections is having a sitewide flash sale 40% entire site in stock items only This shit rarely goes on this deep of a discount they even carry level gloves Code SPRING40 only good till 04/24 3pm Mountain time. http://www.allsportsprotection.com
  14. yeah have to agree. I was only there till about 12:45 trying to get one last run in for the season. No crowds at all, went from top of the mountain right into the lift at bottom, no wait at all really nice day, started a bit chilly and firm, but by mid day softened up a bit
  15. my .02 cents I agree out of the mountains in SE PA Blue is on the top 2, as far as varied terrain and quality of the runs. I would totally be on the kool-aid, if it were not for weekend crowds (great for blue doing something right to bring in the crowds) , and the distance from my vacation home in the slums of the poconos (tobyhanna), however blue is one of the closer mountains to my main place in lower Bucks. I also enjoy the variety that SE PA provides. My biggest wish would be that some company would buy a few of these places and create super Pass similar to the epic pass out west. Each mountain brings something to the plate, and I enjoy that i can choose which one depending on the circumstances and have them within an hour radius. Holidays, i like places like elk, or jfbb where the lift line is significantly shorter, weekdays(don't get much of these to ride, work gets in way) I like blue, Camelback. sometime I like to go to shawnee. The pocono ski and ride card and the 4th 5th grader program, has given me some freedom to move around without incurring huge costs (thanks ski2livelive2ski for the hookup on that card). and also some of the cbs local deals. Someone @ PASR with enough free time should try to negotiate a deal with the local mountains for such a card (BC,JFBB,BLUE,CB,Shawnee) Next season I may have to bite the bullet and pick a single mountain, as my son is thinking of joining a freestyle snowboard team. Blue's freestyle coach truly stood out in that area, and is weighing in on my decision. Hopefully going to reach out to a few other coaches before signing on the dotted line.
  16. they don't have this years numbers out. But the entire west coast was a bust this year huge sales on snowboards/ski equipment very early this year. I am sure the numbers for this year are going to be significantly less than last year. I am not sure the VT/NH/Maine resorts can pull the same purchasing power the west/rockies have
  17. i think also interesting is, if you go by numbers snowboarding is pretty flat over the last few years not growing, nor declining skiing seems to be taking a bigger hit. just under 11,000,000 in 2009 down to 9,000,000 last year I read this as the economy has hit the sport. less disposable income Total Number of Snow Sports Participants Season Alpine Snowboarding Cross Country 2013/2014 9,004,000 7,339,000 4,291,000 2012/2013 8,243,000 7,351,000 3,307,000 2011/2012 10,201,000 7,579,000 4,318,000 2010/2011 11,504,000 8,196,000 4,530,000 2009/2010 10,919,000 7,421,000 4,157,000
  18. Interesting and expected with economy in decline here are some multi year stats of entire snowsports from sia seems they all had some decline http://www.snowsports.org/Retailers/Research/SnowSportsFactSheet however i think that the above article you posted is correct, the avg age of the snowboarders has gotten older.
  19. I'm 51 and didn't start till 49. I usually meet at least one or 2 other boarders my age or older on the lift each trip, but definitely not the norm
  20. Guess you don't talk to many new riders/skiers. Seriously Burma is fine, and much easier than easy out down to lift. it's usually less icy and there is more room. The toughest part is going around the bends, but much easier than paradise. most of my friends kids spent their first day (after their 1st lesson)running Burma, then following up with lazy mile. They even added a beginner terrain park to the right. To make it more enjoyable
  21. Burma is great, you learn quickly how to avoid all the fallen skiers and riders sitting in the middle of the run just around the bend
  22. If paradise is too steep Burma is a good run,
