conditions were really nice today, better than yesterday imo. that baby lift was crowded as shit but burma was great every run. wondering what midweek will be like.

You can change your username. Just go into account settings. I keep meaning to change mine to something cooler like CamelbackFan123 but I think everyone will still call me "Salty".
Thanks for the info. Lines a lot better than yesterday right now.

Sorry for any confusion brm but I was offering them to Schif since I know he's moving from snowboarding to skiing and I think the Phophet may be a good ski for him to try next. Plus the dimensions on them may be good for him. Definitely not to say that I'm not happy to let you try 'em out either if the height/ width etc. are what you're looking for.
oops. i really need some work on my reading comprehension lol.
I should have registered as something cooler than 'brm', i didn't know where the registration would lead me but i can't change it now. My name is Ben .

When were you at blue yesterday??! Are you heading up there now?
I got up there later than i wanted to yesterday. After figuring out how to park (i'm only used to the valley, lots of one ways etc at the top) and getting my photo for my pass (should have done it last week, i know). I was prob on the mountain by 930. I left around 1145 or noon, can't remember. Just wnated to get a few runs in. I'm only 20min north of there, so heading to the mtn on a whim is usually no big deal.
I plan on heading back up today around 1230 when my wife goes to work.

I figured you were trolling us.
I'd have taken a photo but my phone's front cam is busted and i was solo, sorry. Maybe i'll get someone to take a photo today.

You're more than welcome to try out / hang on to my Prophets if you'd like. Thanks, I appreciate the offer. I might take you up on the offer to try them out later in the season. Feels like I've got people throwing equipment at me to try from left and right in this thread, which is great because I'd love to try it all.
It's pretty wild, I thought this forum was a bunch of people behind keyboards in PA ripping on one another who maybe met up to ski on rare occasions. judging by the photos from yesterday, it's clearly not.

pretty good day and conditions. Not as crowded as I expected, tho I left around 1145.
Sno guns going off when I was approaching from valley lot were magical.

Why would it be contrary to what I believe? I don't know you and wouldn't assume that you were inconsiderate; unless I knew who you were and that you actually are...which I don't. My trashcan comment wasn't directed you or anyone here. SMH
Sorry, didn't mean it like that, I just thought maybe i had come across like someone who didn't give a shit about trashing the place, i just like to get loose and have fun.

Or the guy who attempts to throw empty beer cans from said backpack into the giant garbage can under the lift, but misses adding to the already existing garbage.
contrary to what you might believe, i am considerate. i always have a plastic trash bag inside of the backpack for my empties and I use it.
last thing i need to do is advertise drinking by throwing an empty can at a trash can beneath me almost guaranteed to miss. I don't know why mountains have that sort of thing anyway, just put a trash can at the top of the lift.

That’s a sweet ski suit!! Did it come with a lift ticket. Those are called fart bags.
no, maybe you think i'm fuckin around but that ticket is from JFBB last year (mar 1). I could take a close up but i don't care enough to bring it back out.

If you want to go with a twin tip, I'm a huge fan of the Line Chronics.

If I were to decide to get a nice second set for casual skiing, i already planned on one of these two.

Demo days are typically sponsored by local ski shops and are free. Just an FYI.
Did not know that, thank you for the heads up. I'm midway between blue and JFBB so there are a number of shops on the way to both.

Maybe hold off on purchasing until there is a demo day at a local mountain or Blue that you can try stuff out? Or at least swap skis with some of us for a few runs depending on BSL.
I have a credit with a ski shop, technically I'm not spending anything but the lower the item price, the more I'll have for other things. Demos are $$$ that I don't really want to spend.
I'm also trying to be ready for tomorrow, which is why I'm in a crunch to get to the shop tonight. This crazy early opening day is responsible for this unwanted urgency.

Is there a reason you're hung up on twin-tips? No, I was just wondering if there was anything out there that is downhill oriented, but had twin tips incase I wanted to try out freestyle / parks.
You state that you're not into park or big jumps, not that Blue has any anymore, so that would indicate that you're not going to be skiing switch very much, if at all. Did not know this, but it is good to know, makes the TT aspect sort of moot. You also say you're looking for length, speed, aggressive, which with twin-tips, you're loosing length and TTs tend not to be meant for speed or aggressive skiing, they tend to be more noodles than planks. Right, I understand and I had mentioned that they are sort of opposites and one would take away from the other.
Skiing TTs with friends makes you an annoyance, mainly because of the rooster-tail of ice, snow, etc. they throw up behind you, but if that's what you're looking for, go for it. I didn't know that this happened but i'd probably be solo most times so it wouldn't matter.
Not trying to dissuade you, but just throwing out some thoughts. Thanks, this is some great info to consider. TT looking much less desirable. Will likely just have two sets, one set being TT for casual / freestyle and one set for downhill.
Thanks

170 length RTMs
Do they make them any longer?
Also, I'm trying to search for them but Volkl's site doesn't even show them (unless they're called something else), google is showing RTM 76 / 84 / 8.0. Is there a specific variant?
Thanks

Not enough alcohol content for me..plus gotta follow rules at Blue..no laws when you’re drinking claws...normal cans are fine for pocket beers for me and I usually don’t do pocket beers until it gets closer to spring.
please explain these rules and how strictly they are enforced

The slim cans of claws would make great pocket beers.
Do people not bring backpacks full of beer?
Asking for a friend.
