  1. I get kind of annoyed by the race team and the closed trails too. I think they should practice/ close trails on off times. (WARNING... bad analogy coming... you have been warned) You don't see bowling alleys having leagues on Friday and Saturday nights. They pretty much don't do it. Leagues play during the week so lanes are open on the weekends for customers who pay full price, buy beers and pretzels and play arcade games. Money, money, money, money. I can't see why Blue doesn't do the same thing. I would think that daytrippers are more lucrative customers for Blue than members of the race team. I guess they figure that they have you. Even with a trail or two closed they are the best game in town. OK, that might just be my opinion, but since this is my post I am stating it as fact.

you're right we don't have leagues Friday and Saturday night. We love open bowlers and money!

  2. well "champ", I am bitching that his post seems to more of a whine about all the "rich kids" and less about the park. If camp of champions is so shitty why does everyone else on this forum say how great it is. Its one thing to complain but do it in a constructive way. Saying that the rich kids ruined his time there sounds more like jealousy than a critisism of the park. I have been looking into parks and coc seems to be the biggest around.

  3. jfbb is pretty cheap as far as season passes go. Check around they are cheaper than blue and camelback. A $50 increase is one extra weekend price day, not really a big deal. BDK, you use your pass enough to make it worth it. The ticket validation isn't that bad, but I thought the season passholder window was just for validating season passholder tickets. Lately there has been a lot of people and groups in there. When you knock on the window, they are usually busy with other customers so you have to go in and wait in line. Not a huge deal, but they did say this would be a dedicated window for passholders.

  4. just got back from a fun weekend at BB. I really thought with the freezing cold weather and road closures the mountain conditions would be icy. I was pleasantly surprised. Sat we slept in and sledded at our house in the morning (big mistake). By the time we got to BB it was packed. We stayed a few hours but hardly got in any runs because of the lift lines. Sunday I got to go by myself (no kids). It was great. I got there at 8:15 am. No lift lines. Got in 18 runs and left at 11:30 by the time the crowds started. David wanted to go to midnight madness and by the time 9pm rolled around we were tired and the wind was whipping, so we skipped it. When we woke up this morning the temp was 4 degrees. First we thought about skipping it for the day, but then we decided to bundle up and go. After an hour and a half we were cold and its a long ride back to Jersey so we left. I was proud of David for sucking it up and staying out there for a little bit today. When we left BB parking lot it warmed up to 5 degrees. All in all a great weekend.

  5. I don't think you will get that $3000 deal again. Prices are high now. Murphy's Loft bar has a few rooms next to them that are really bare bones, but cheap. They are clean and just redone about 2 years ago. Its about 10 minutes from each mountain. If you rent directly from JFBB make sure you see some pics of your unit first. I put some people up there and the place was a dump, especially for what I spent.

  6. the glove liners and mittens is a good idea. David hates mittens but Stephen would prob go for this. As for the one piece....are we talking the infamous red one nips wore in some photos I saw?? Unfortunately my kids already think they are too cool...they would not wear something like that. It takes David longer than anyone to get ready in the morning. But one day neither one of them will want to be seen with their uncool mom so I guess now its all good.

  7. thanks for the tip, I didn't know that. For as cold as it was they both did pretty good. They had 8 runs (4 then a break then another 4). On a good day I can get 12-14 out of them. It's just kind of a hassle at this age to get them all dressed in layers of clothes, boot up, go to the mountain and by the time I feel warmed up they want to take their first break or go home.

  8. You MIGHT find an example where I called out someone first, but I doubt it. 98% of the time it is people like you who name me personally in a post and then I reply, a perfect example is your post above. Why are you talking about CB and me in a BB thread anyhow?

Boulder was mad cold on 1-20-07, 1-21 was the better day.

x2. Stephen lost his mind by the time we were walking to the parking lot. He couldn't carry his skis, started crying and said his hands were frozen. whew...sometimes I can't wait until they are a little older.
