  1. bb was really nice yesterday, sunday.. they are blowing so much snow. those guns really produce some quality snow.

BTW what is planned for the area next to the observation deck on boulder, anyone know?

It was so fun. Papa I am sure I am ruining your rep when you hang out with me (haha). God I sucked on Bunny's elbow. I have to practice more. I dont know why It felt so steep. We'll be back in 2 weeks.

  2. I absolutely dare anyone to do this:

Now I'm going to go sit in a dark room with a bottle of gin.

Last year I let my kids (then age 5 and 7) invite two friends to go ice skating. that was an interesting day.

  3. ok Megan I am going to keep an eye out for you. I just really want to get him on the park. I think if he could just do one easy box or something his confidence would return. He's not riding well this season. I am sure it has to do with the fact that last season he was always with the snowmonster program. That usually meant him and an instructor to himself (usually PHilly). He needs to meet some kids to hang out with. Even though I am keeping up with him better, I am his mom for god's sake and that is no fun.

  4. If anyone wants to do a good deed for the day...take David on the terrain park. I tried to convince him to hang out with Megan and her crew Christmas week, but half way there he punked out. I think he is intimidated. The snowmonster program won't take kids on the park anymore for liability issues. Last season he did the coffin box in the park (just straight, no tricks) and was so proud of himself. I would hear him telling his friends about it.

  5. Barb - looking for an adoptive son? :wiggle

well behaved :halo , helpful around the house, makes his bed, good cook,........

you will get instant grand kids - 2 wonderful boys age 10 & 5, one skis, one boards...

feel free to let me know!

Jesus how old do you think I am! (haha) Anyway if you are ever at jfbb let me know we can introduce our boys.

  6. I think Hummers are fucking small inside (well the H2 and H3 bullshit ones, not the real one).

We have an Expedition and it is smaller on the outside, but much larger on the inside, than a hummer. Basically they jacked the floor up in a Hummer but didn't raise the roof so its like an SUV but with the height of a car. But you still get the shitty gas mileage of a real SUV (and I mean a real SUV like a Suburban or an Expedition, not the car based ones like the X5 or something).

But 90% of the people who have SUVs don't need them. We actually use ours, we have 2 boats to trailer and a double axle car trailer we move cars around on, the option was either a pickup truck or an SUV so we got the SUV instead of a pickup truck and a car. But all the moms in the world driving around SUVs for groceries and stuff, give me a break. A lot of people got them instead of minivans, just a big car but more stylish, but will never need the truck engine or the truck chassis and suspension. Thats why there are all these 'crossovers' now that are just cooler looking minivans.

I'm not even a big fan of people using SUVs for skiing. Sure, they are 4 wheel drive. But if you go to somewhere with mountains, u'll see a lot more Subarus and 4 wheel drive Volvos than Hummers (from the locals).

I agree. I have an expedition too. But I use mine to tow my camper and I am always driving my kid's friends + ski/board gear in the back takes up space

  7. My kids have had instruction at jfbb the last 2 seasons. And for 3 hours of on the snow instruction (and babysitting) you can't beat it. My older son has made friends with several instructors and they stop and say hi every time they see him in the lodge (he feels cool haha).

  8. ok nevermind....when the boys got home from school I showed them the website of a camp. I told them that they would be in their own room (without parents) with other boys their age. I showed them all the after mountain activities. They absolutely flipped and they want to start packing right now. Problem solved. We are going to Dave Murray ski and snowboard school. They take kids as young as 7 (which is how old Stephen will be by June).

  9. Does anyone know if there is a snowboard camp going on for Easter break? I have been checking online and the only one I saw was in Vermont but it was during the week not on a school holiday. I talked to David about the summer camps out west (even Whistler) but I just don't think he is emotionally ready to go. (even if I went with him) I don't want to drop that kind of nut for nothing. If there was a place that we could drive to over break, that would be great.

  10. Conditions look really good. They're blowing right now at both JFBB and I plan on hitting JF first thing Wednesday morning. Should be pretty good conditions :rock . I wonder if JFBB lets kids < 6 ski for free, if they are with a passholder, or just a ticket purchaser?

I am a passholder and my six year old skis for free. They told me to carry a copy of his birth certificate just in case anyone asks, but no one ever has

  11. I agree, the snowmonster program is great. My kids have done it the last 2 years. The 9am-12 noon session is prob less crowded than the afternoon session. If you are going to ski more than one day try to rent your equip off mountain. There is a place on Rt. 903-county line ski rental (right down the road from lake harmony). You can prob save $10 or more per person. I don't think the tubing will be opened by this weekend at jfbb

  12. Just be carefull of your lift ticket everyone. David's fell off after he just brushed against his zipper. We were done for the day so it didnt matter. The lady at the ticket office told me the glue they have is not as good as last year. When she saw I was going to add that day's ticket on top of my others she said I should use a new wicket. I did and when I went to pull the old ones off, poof they just came off with hardly any effort.
