  1. Public Enemy, I, and each of our smaller versions are heading up to Bear Creek in the Morning and then back to Camelback in the evening. At leasts that's the plan right now as long as we don't have school and everything works out. Look for the group of four twin tippers, two on public enemies. See you at Bear and CB (hopefully)!
  2. Man that U-Box sounds nuts. I really want to see it, but I'm not sure I have the balls to hit it yet, haha.
  3. Haha, leave it to you guys. I'll be down there when it opens!
  4. Its a ski area about 1:20 south of CB, really good for park in PA, pretty decent sized mountain for being that far south, but not huge or anything for racers, speed demons. Doesn't have many tourists, sorta tucked away, has a real fun feel to it.
  5. I believe it opens friday according to the CB site. I will most likely be there unless I go to Bear Creek, it's a hard choice.
  6. Yep I make the long trek, from the burg to BC. Everything is just so much better there for the type of skier I am. There's no tourists tottering around, everyone respects each other in the park, no ranger's pull me over and punch my pass, the park is enourmous and varies from super easy to super hard, it's a pretty big mountain, and sometimes the snow is softer there when it's all ice at CB. The whole mountain just has a fun feel to it, while CB has the I'm driving on a highway, look at all the cops and other people swerving around, feel to it. That's my take anyway.
  7. There is no respect at any part of Camelback. That's what makes it suck so much. No one respects the rangers, the rangers don't respect us, I hate 50% of the people in the park, kids totally ruin features by being retards. It's a bad cycle of destruction. I think a lot of the local kids who think they're better than everybody else comes from there being so many people pizzaing on rental skis and getting in the way so they just say screw it, and cut around people, and then it becomes a freeforall. I think a good rule would be no rentals in the park. Rentals aren't ment for park, and if you have rentals you probably shouldn't be there anyway.
  8. Haha yeah I bet. CB absolutely loves this board, haha.
  9. Haha, yeah I heard the BC reps here say they were going to do that a bit ago. Sounds like a really good idea. There were never enough people in the Bear Creek forums until now. Now all of a sudden there's tons of people. More people to talk to about the park, yay, haha.
  10. There are kids throwing all sorts of backflips and crap at BC all the time, it puts me to shame, haha. So many people there are so good. That sounds like quite a sizeable line up for opening and sounds really fun to me. Thank you very much for the write-up! I'm probably gonna head down sometime this week for some night skiing, should be good like always. I don't know if they were skiing off trail now, but they had some pretty cool stuff in the woods on the right side of the mountain last year. They don't really seem to have many rocks and bushes and stuff, so it's a lot better than most of the other pocono mountain. CB's woods for instance have way to many rocks and undergrowth.
  11. One decent sized jump? Did they have more than that though? They don't need to be huge for me, I'll have fun on them all the same. Anyone have a breif description of the rails at all? Thanks for the info, sounds like they're getting stuff setup!

    Rumor for all

I know some people like that idea, but I personally hate it because of one reason. I spend lots of time in the park, and it's a major part of keeping skiing fun for me, but I take a lot of normal runs too. I would absolutely hate it if I had to always go to the left side of the mountain to ski park. The way it's setup now I can take some runs down King Tut, Marc Antony, or whatever and still hit the park. I can do the same on the other side. The right side of the mountain would all of a sudden be skiied hardly at all by me, and that would be sad. Also I think Laurel Glade is a pretty good spot for a park. What else would that trail be used for anyway? It's basically the same as meadows. Its pretty decently sloped, could be a bit steeper, but it's wide. I guess it doesn't really matter since I'll be gone by that time, but that's my opinion, haha.
  13. How was the park, and how much has been setup so far? I was trying to look at it throught the webcam, but it was hard, haha. I'm going down as soon as the park is good, but I want to make sure that they have it setup before I make the 1 1/2 hr drive.
  14. Almost positive I met up with LineSki, and if not I'm gonna feel like an idiot. He came up to me and said, "You remember me right?" and I said yes, because I was almost positive it was him, but if it wasn't I got really confused, haha. I also met up with dthmtluncrn and zaldon at the base of the quad. They weren't hard to miss considering their helmets were covered with stickers. There were tons of skiers and snowboarders totally killing it in the park today, it was awesome. I'm so tired though, I've been hiking and skiing straight (besides a 8-hour sleep) for 24 hours. So much fun... I'd say they should really groom it out tonight because it'll get cruddy if they don't. The fresh snow was absolutely amazing though, oh my god. There were already edges on the sides of the trails to ski around in and you could totally screw around on everything with no worries of rocks or pain. Best opening day ever.
  15. Haha, dear God let there be above 12 inches of snow and a video camera around Doug. Second off, accuweather has us down for 3-7 right now, but they say that they aren't sure of the speed yet so they are being "conservative". 3-7 being "conservative" is amazzzing and enough to cancel school!
  16. Yay for Bear. I love night skiing.
  17. I feel like someone just slapped me in the face.

    SWEEEEEEEEET

That's not really that hard of a fix, but Brad is a good guy from what I can tell. I'm pretty sure he sold me my boots. The only time I've delt with Mark, he was really friendly. It was when I ripped the heal out of my Atomic Boots. He basically gave me the tools I thought might fix it, and we tried seeing if we could screw it back on. It wasn't fixable and he kept me from wasting my time trying to fix something that couldn't be. I ended up getting a newer, upgraded pair from Atomic so that worked out great in the end. It just sucked that I didn't have my boots for about 3 weeks.
  19. Hmmm... A dual box. What exactly can you do on this box (from a skier or boarders point of view)? I can't really think of anything on skis to do with besides the normal flat-box stuff, totally ignoring the lower end of it. Looks cool though.
  20. Haha, yeah you're right. The floating feeling as you effortlessly glide down a hill, tons of trails opening with extra base added from natural snow, snowdays allowing you to ski all day, the ability to crash really hard and be perfectly fine. How could anyone like powder ? What kind of skier are you ?? Haha just kidding with you, but I'm still hoping for snow.
  21. Haha that's amazing! I was just talking to my sister about this the exact time you posted it. I am also interested in when their night skiing usually opens. Anyone know?
  22. Just looked at the updated snow forcast for us from www.accuweather.com. Right now they have us forcast right in the middle of high snowfall band! http://headlines.accuweather.com/news-stor...adc=0&article=0 6-12 Inches!! They've stated that this storm will almost definently come this way, but speed and slight changes in direction may occur, so it may change the snowfall amounts. I really hope that's not the case though. Man I can just picture a snowday friday, going to Camelback on opening day while it's snowing. Skiing all day in fresh powder... For the love of God let the forecast be correct .

    12/9

Are they open until 5:00 or 4:00? I'll definenlty be there if they're open 'til 5:00. Still contemplating leaving school early friday. This'll help my decision. Edit: Oh crap, just saw my answer clearly in bold in the CB site. Alright looks like I'll be there one way or another.
  24. The slope is at my friend Will a.k.a stbgskibum247's house. Its not public access, but we're pretty open to allowing people to come. You'd have to talk to Will about it. Especially if you have a rail or something, then your a shoe-in haha. I think for instance that Will said it was okay for the Blue Mt. Freeride Team to come over and stuff like that.
  25. Bah, I hope they open night skiing from the get go. They probably won't, but It'll be hard for me to ski during the day hours right now. I've already skipped 6 out of the past 10 days of school, so it's looking pretty sketchy for friday. I usually have church sunday, but I might have to skip that, haha.
