  1. That is so scary Barb and I'm glad he's okay. I always worry about my kids on the lifts. My daughter likes to lean forward and look over at everything. Scares me to pieces. I also noticed how slippery the lifts were Saturday because of all the snow.

My son and I had a fun one Saturday - the lift operator accidently flipped the seat up on us at loading. I sat down with Jake and no seat, just bars. Luckily she noticed and stopped the lift in time. I had to drop down a few feet to get off. That was fun. All I could think of was the picture of that poor guy who ended up upside down with his pants down around his ankles, free to the breeze.

    So that's how that happens....

All sillyness aside, I'm glad your kid is ok. I'm sure he'll think twice before doing that again.

  2. Awesome TR..looks like Mad Goldilocks for you....just right!!!

Root as for the 1/2 price voucher..that is weak sauce..if there is a major lift stoppage..especially on a cold day..everybody should get a voucher for a future visit..I was stuck on the lift for an hour and a half at Sugarbush when I was in college and all I got was a coupon for a free hot chocolate..

Season pass holders got a free "sucker" tattoo on the out. lol Most of them would have been more than grateful for a free hot chocolate. I'm glad I didn't get stuck on it. I was on K1 with a Ski Patroler and overheard it on his radio. I was already planning to head over that way anyhow, but ran off the new Skye Peak hs quad for a few runs instead. Saved me a big headache When the lift went down, they at least turned on Needles Eye to get people out of the midstation area.

  3. Great pics! Do you know if the lower part of Skyeship was open?

I was to busy to stop and take pics....

Skyeship is fully open, (Home Strech, GE etc..) and this year open every day. On Thursday, the gondi was only running from Rt 4 to the mid-station. Today around 11 the mid-station to the summit stopped for over an hour. People who were stuck on the lift forever in this cold and wind today, were given a 1/2 price voucher that must be used in 24 hours?!?! WTF???

  4. Could you hear the whistle??? I've been whistled at for slow deliberate turns..the only way to avoid getting whistled at is being in an out of control turkey tuck powerwedge/skidding on a snowboard..and you'll just blend in with everybody else..

Isn't Paradise a good carving trail??? It's a shame you have to do the Pocono shuffle to avoid getting yelled at..unless you're on the race team..then you have carte blanche..

I'm thinking about putting a big BMR sign on the back of my jacket for that very reason. Anyone think that would work?

  5. I won't be there....I made it home safely today, which means I'm actually going to JH lol. We're smoking chicken and ribs tomorrow, so tomorrow is going to be a day to relax and pack. Have fun!

Are we gonna see a TR out of this one? With pics?

  6. Will you be posting some realtime reports from Killington??? It looks like Rutland is getting 3-5 inches today so hopefully more on the mountain..

I'll probably try to get one RTR on AlpineZone a day during a gondi ride. My Blackberry has a really hard time formatting pasr.

  7. All the new snow that's falling right now is going to groom nicely into the current surface..

Root, you mean when you're married, you need permission to go skiing??? As long as you don't need permission for sex..lol

No way. I'm sure I could go out there by myself & have a great time. I need her permission to take her skiing. Otherwise I'd get convicted of kidnapping.

Normally, she'll just ask me what my upcoming skiing plans are about a week ahead of time. She's never told me, "no, you can't go today"

I'd kinda like to spend the day with her as well, since I won't see her for a week, so I guess I'm half to blame.

  8. I just talked to my wife about this before she left for work. Blue on 1/1 doesn't look good for me considering I'm going up to Killington on the 2nd for a week without her. I'll approach this again when she gets home from work or maybe over dinner. Hopefully she'll be in a better mood.

  9. I sure felt like a beginner two nights ago in the piles of deep sand..anyway I'm psyched because I don't have any work Thursday and Friday which means 4 days in a row of death cord at Blue...

Fixed it for you! Have fun. Stay safe!

  10. Sidewinder opened around noon and instantly, the clusterfuck on Tuts cleared up.

I had the wife and nephew with me today, both hitting the snow for the 1st time this season. We hit 2nd tracks off the Summit lodge because we got mad delayed when the new point of sale computer wouldn't accept the gift card. They finally had to get the IT guy over and he couldn't make it work either. Very frustrating. Wife need a rest after three runs, so me and Wade (nephew) skied a run with the Blue Crew down Lazy Mile. We stayed until 1pm. The boy wanted to do more, but his knee was hurting him. Wife called it quits at 11:30. The fog got worse and worse, and a light mist was coming down.

    Crowds were non-existent today.

  11. maybe you should just type in a way that is easier for everybody to read if you are going to keep doing it then nobody is going to read what you have to say and take you seriously you have ideas and criticism that is somewhat accurate but the way you present yourself when you first show up on this site makes you look stupid you show up and act like the internet tough guy that most people do when they post on boards like this people dont take you seriously when you do that and aren't grammatically correct or at least legible with your writing with somewhat of a sentence structure or a paragraph that has a period in it.

    oh wait...

    ha ha ha
