  1. there is Fresno's, i think it's exit 191 off 81 about 15 minutes from sno. Also there is La Tolteca in w-b down by the arena on mundy street. At the base of the access rd there is a Visitors information center, I think you can go in there and get alot of the info you are looking for.
  2. I don't see a all ski area pass being sold. We get more visets than you so we get more of the take??? I think that group sales would be the best way, if you agree to a certain number of tickets, you get a certain price. More tickets, lower price. Most Mountains have visting season pass discounts. Sno have a ticket for $10 with a pass from another mountain. But if you guys can pull it together i really think it would sell. $1000 seems pretty cheap to ski 3-5 mountains for a season.
  3. I talked to a snow maker last night, he said they were going to run as hard as they can until the temp goes up. I looked for you ski, but couldn't find you. I got there at about 6, work that dirty 4 letter word, and left about 9. When I left it looked like every gun on the top of the mountain was on. I think the skiing is going to be great this weekend!!!!!!!!!
  4. It's actually very impressive. 30-40 instructors, ski patrol and SAT's make a serpentine down the slope ha-ha ? I still don't get it!? Closer to 100 people skiing down the slope. Actually, I think this was the biggest torchlight parade ever at the mountain. One guy who worked at the Mt since opening day said he couldn't remember a parade bigger.
  5. or a asbestos suit, 5 gallons of gas and a match!!!!! Thank god their not own by the county anymore!!!!!!!! It really isn't that dangerous, the flares are taped to a 1"x3" furring strip about 3' long so the real dangerous part is far away from you. and you also pick your partners who you trust that are close to you. 2008 RACEWAX.COM SKI TEAM
  6. No rocket skis, I coordinated the sync skiing at the end of the parade. I thought the video was real cool. I did alot of them in the early 90's, this was the first one i did sober, but the county nazi's stopped all fun. It's really nice to see all the fun come back to the mountain. I really hope it keeps going and we have a lot more of this type of promotions and fun.
  7. I might bring my rocket skis like in the movie Ski Patrol Rumor has it that the rocket man will be in the torchlight parade, and also some cool sync skiing. Its going to be a fun weekend
  8. It doesn't matter, as soon as it gets cold, the guns start and in 2 nights its like it never happened, well sno its like that anyway. Besides weather people can't predict anything anyway. 5 day forecast, talk about big brass ones, their 5 day forecast is more of a guess than anything else. People should be more like the weather, it does not respond to criticism(?spelling?). its winter, it will get cold soon enough, and were due for a monster snow storm.
  9. Not to mention that the mt is in incredible shape. I skied there all weekend and the only ice was on Rattler at the end of the day, around 3:30 on sunday. The trees are great fun, heard some people got in some trouble in there, not quite ready skill wise or skiing stupid, whatever it was I call it natural selection. anyway some of the best snow was on Highball, beginner terrain, which was really great for some people first time skiing. The bumps were great on WL and Boomer. I hope they don't groom them down, blowing more snow on them would make them fantastic.
  10. Thanks, That makes me feel sooooooo much better
  11. I hope to do better next week, falling at the second gate is really a dumb ass move...
  12. GMO is very good at boot fitting and alignment issues. I started getting fit by them in 1997 and have fit me in at least 4 pair of boots. I have no complaints or problems on the work they did for me, and quite frankly I would have never passed my PSIA level 3 without them. However, I had a chance to speak with Bill Kaplan from the Doylestown area when he was at Sno Mt last year. This guy has his shit together. I have studied canting and alignment since 1997. I belive it is the gateway to good skiing, anybody with alignment issues knows what I am talking about. When I had my conversation with Bill it was a very enlighting. I always understood fore/aft alignment and also canting to get to a flat ski, however, I never realized the rotational issue of the legs. If your legs point out or in when you walk, that seriously affects your ablity to turn your skis. Bill and Sno Mt are in the talking stages of setting up a "GMO lab like" situation at Sno Mt, get fit, go ski with duct tape like was perviously stated, fix any small issues, etc..... If any body is interested in having a boot fitting lab like that in our area, Please call Sno Mt to let them know so maybe we will get him to our area so we don't have to travel 4 hours to get it done.
