I wish they would rotate that and the hip at the bottom of central park about 15d CCW so us old skate /surf heads could hit side and lip slide it like a 1/4 pipe wave !

Kind of thinking they are blowing a lot of snow on NM/DW to put features in.
theres usually at least one big boarder/skier-cross race on NMDW each year
Was a nice evening, with the exception of a few slick spots and some weird rolly polly areas the snow was pretty good. Finally got a run on sidewinder! Run of the night was far right main st. I saw @momskeeztoo on the way in, looked like you had a long day lol

last night was good, true packed powder and pretty smooth. Need some wax though, the natty snow is slow. Did 6 runs in exactly 1 hour which is a pretty good pace for me. headed over to stroudsburg to catch the Tele Colo movie and scored some Platty vouchers in the raffle

yesterday afternoon's flat light and variable surface had me skiing very spazzy, got better as the light came on and sun went down.

I'm not a huge queen guy either. Dont get me wrong. Ridiculously talented and Freddie Mercury is one of the best front men ever but the actual songs are meh. Can't get into the whole rock opera thing.
queen?!?!? I thought it was Wayne and Garth

Woke up to rain in the B, thought about heading North to try to find the blue line but couldn’t find the motivation. (Shoulda gone, Belle claimed 8”). Saw a break in the hourly and radar around 1:00 and headed up. They lied, soaked to the bone after 5 tele runs, snow was great though and empty. Had fun running the little patch left of Barnies, the Sherbie Simulator lol

I got started at Greek Peak's Nordic Center years ago, definitely worth checking out with rental gear if not a lesson. The closest XC center is probably high point NJ. There was another one around Williamsport but not coming up on the goog
There's a lot of cheap used stuff out there these days but it takes a little bit of knowledge/time to sift through to get something you'll enjoy. For someone starting who wants to do ungroomed rail trails, golf courses, parks etc I'd look forNNN BC stuff, its a little wider and more stable than classic track NNN

Group included an instructor and kids, they got lynched by the fb mob jury. Would love to know the real story, if it was a simple mistake or major dumbassedness...

ha i remember when blue didn't allow snowboards lol. A gazillion years ago I had a wood burton board with two metal skegs (still have it somewhere) and a kind of water ski binding, i remember tooling around with it at jack frost and getting chased off the hill
fuck i'm old...

Plattekill 3.3.24
in Other Mountains

A few weeks ago I won Platty vouchers at the Tele Colo movie and figured what better way to celebrate World Telemark Day on Tele Sunday. The ride up on the back roads yielded a mix of sun, clouds and fog along with a bald eagle snatching up a squirrel along root 42.
Arrived to a socked in Platty with the sun trying to burn thrugh but it never quite happened, temps in the mid / upperer 50's. Started on the double and ended up lapping Blockbuster. Although the entrance was a little spicy there was good coverage once you got onto the trail. bumps (*) on the left side were soft and manageable.
Short beer/water break and then rode the face off the triple, good coverage and mix of nice spring snow with some sticky man made here and there. Tele'd until lunch, chicken pesto wrap and ascension pils were bangin'. Legs were cooked after ten tele runs so clamped down the heels for another 4 or 5 in the afternoon.
Nice day with a beverage stop as Catskill Brewery on the way home, love that place!
* bumps photo credit lifted from @Harvey at nyskiblog - i couldn't find the sun lol
