  1. october 21st saturday - rail jam - registration ($5) starting at 9am, riders can start riding at 11am and go until the snow runs out. no contest, just a chance for the riders to get out and get on some rails and snow and chill and hang out. october 22nd sunday - QUICK! video premiere - starts at noon - no other details just yet
  2. ok... that and the fact that we (roundtop) are being paid to be at the car show to do this... its a promotional thing that carlisle events asked us to do
  3. the BB jam is open to anyone
  4. roundtop's is invite only (its a demo for a car show and the promoters only want 12 skiers and 12 snowboarders)... and we are not trucking in snow
  5. the RRA is the most unreliable source for any information... its totally biased and one sided... JB does not know what he is talking about and has real source of his information.. the only truth about the superpipe for this season is that we're not making snow in it and it won't be open this season. joe
  6. everythings still a go for friday..... also, just announced this week. roundtop has been invited to participate in a Winterfest Celebration held by the city of Harrisburg. We are hosting an invite only rail jam, taking only 30 riders to show of the best of the best of the riders that compete in our area. I will be making the list friday night at our rail jam based on the performance of the riders to determine who will be riding in harrisburg
  7. 3rd rail jam of the season for Roundtop. set-up: 25 ft flat rail (set up as a down rail) *built the same as the flat-down in incubator* 30 ft flat down box and a new down flat down (not the one that was built before) as set up side by side giving the rider a choice of 3 rails to hit. Registration: same as it always is here The jam starts at 6pm and practice starts at 4:30

    RT?

ahh, yea....gotta be at least 18 to work for me....

    RT?

roundtop has more than one dept. that has volunteers... some of our ski patrollers seem to have a bit of a power trip though which gives the entire staff a bad name and come to not be liked by anyone on the mountain.. on the other hand, park and pipe crew has open positions that are volunteer at well, with the same benifits.
  10. i can't speak for liberty, but the park pass was something that we really looked into doing this year at roundtop, but with our big park on exhibition (in case people don't kno, we share exhibition with the race club, and the park becomes a ski through trail) I just don't have the money in my budget to pay someone to sit there and check park passes during the day (when there is no crowds) and if we were to do the park pass, its something that has to be inforced at all times, and not just selected times. if and when we get our own designated trail for a park, that is one of the first things that will be addressed at roundtop. as for the video, at least they took shots of the kids in the beginner park, and not in the big park.
  11. the R Games is just what you said, a "weekend of competitions" the competitions range from slopestyle, superpipe (if it opens), rail jam, best trcik (big air) various racing events, border cross/skiier x, stuff like that
  12. its ok..they are all about the same every where you go
  13. throwing my first 540... best feeling stomping that out....... then only to cruise down to the rail line, with no speed or pop and blew out my knee on the front edge of the rail... took the wind out of my sails there...

your backyard may be better than our parks so far this year.... we haven't had the snow yet to get our bigger park off the ground yet.. the only thing that we've had was our beginner park which only has room and pitch for 5 maybe 6 rails, and our intermediate park, which is layed out so you can either hit a jump and be done, or hit a couple rails and be done, reguardless of how the park is layed out.. with the return of cold weather, you'll see the return of a park people talked so highly about last year..

ok..i'm letting the cat out of the bag right now... IF we get some sort of snowmaking weather, the plan is to set up a park on fife and drum for the competition and leave it up until exhibition opens... its not going to be anything huge, i have 2 brand new rails that i've been keeping under wraps that i'll put out for the comp, and i'd like to see alot more jumps, but that is going to require alot of snow... right now we have tomorrow (friday) and saturday night to make snow... most of the focus will be on areas that need it most, but if we can pull it off, it will be done... i'm not making any promises on anything, nor trying to get anyone's hopes up, but that is the plan that is in the works.... but the temps will be our friend or enemy...bottom line is its gonna be a last minute call...

scheduled? sounds like he's a celebrity..haha... but that sucks if he wouldn't be able to make it.... in my eyes he would have been a favorite to win that comp.

glad you asked that.. i was just about to send you a private message... today at staff meeting we went over the whole format and everything for the next x snow comp. and we decided to move the event back a week til the 15th (sunday) if we would have held the event this weekend it would have been mostly race events and we probablly won't have been able to have the slopestyle due to lack of a competition worthy park. we are looking at better temps for next week, and i have a couple of things up my sleve in the works right now. but as of right now, this is how next weekend will be: Friday, Jan 13th - rail jam Saturday Jan 14th - Mega Demo Day Sunday Jan 15th - Next X Competition (slopestyle, half pipe, ect.) keep up to date on Skiroundtop.com or you can personally email me at jgarbacik@skiroundtop.com with any questions about the events to come

as soon as the weather breaks snowmaking will resume. before the weather turned crappy on us, we were looking to have the ex. park open late last week. but as of right now, we have to focus on getting more snow on the mountain in general. we are possibly going to have to close the bunker hill park sometime this week due to a lack of snow in there right now.
  23. ill be there (which doesn't say much cuz i'm there everyday) but yea, as papa said..we have 5 rails/boxes set up on the bottom of fife and drum.. from what i know, there will be a decent amount of people heading out to the mountain when they get off work or school...
  24. we're opening with 3 trails.. minuteman, fife and drum, drummer boy and the discovery area.. also, the incubator terrain park on fife and drum will be open on thursday at 4 pm
