  1. Any word on them stepping it up in the future? I know they're under new managment and whatnot...I would expect they would at least TRY to keep up w/ other mountains.
  2. When i say boulder is on lock i mean that they have tons of snow in really good places, and they prepared the mountain for late season riding. The setup isnt incredible, but its damn nice to have full coverage for late march.
  3. I grew up at camelback and have pretty much skiied there my entire life. Due to college and working park crew at Bear Creek I didnt get to check out camelback at all this year. I was wondering if anybody could give me a rundown of what kind of stuff they had set up in the parks this year??
  4. Molly, I dont know what the max size is but I did the biggest spread eagle thing of my life on the big one...The landing was awfully bulletproof when i hit it. I think you might hit it, it's pretty big though. It looked like some people were really boosting it high if they wanted to. They have a smaller jump at the top of the line that you would be fine on, except the landing seems really mellow for how high it pops you. Maybe if they cut the landing steeper that jump would be really really fun. I didnt hit the second jump...nobody was and i figured there must be a reason. The rest of the setup was ok, I had fun on that battle box and I really like the hybrid box things. The down flat down is sick and the down rail/box was fun even though it was such a big hop up to it.
  5. We'll start putting stuff on those trails soon...I think Tom broke his collar bone today, so we'll see what happens when things settle down.
  6. Also, there's no way anything would look good or be setup right. I'm sure there are a few people out there who could cut an ok lip, but its nowhere near as easy as you think.
  7. Yea, thats why i was tossing that out there. Some kid i dont know called me dumb for posing the question, i wonder if he knows what rail i'm talking about? I think i might try to get the flat bar from next to the quad set up.
  8. How about the 42 ft round as a down? Do you think enough people would hit it?
  9. if we cant cut it we should build some jumpers...
  10. It's mostly a safety and consistency issue...Good riders only hit jumps on days when they're not going to get trashed on the knuckles or thrown wrong by the lips. On some days we cant even cut the lips due to poor snow conditions. Pinemind- Is there any chance that you guys are going to sell off those Jon pro models soon? My gear is looking pretty ratty after a couple months on park crew...
  11. They're not cutting anything yet. Just moving snow around.
  12. Jon Brogan is the real deal!!! That kid showed up at my house preseason w/ a bunch of boulder kids to hit a rail w/ ice shavings we got. It was a semi-ghetto single barrel that was over waist high and Jon was throwing a whole array of tricks from super smooth spins on and off to perfectly comfortable and clean switch ups. I've never personally seen somebody lock onto a rail so well.
  13. so i'm bumping this thread up cause there's plentyyyyy of snow here at KU to hit some rails...Adolfo, Nick, Tim or anybody else from what the huck should call me sometime today if you guys want some awesome shots. The whole campus is closed so we'll be able to ride all over
  14. There is A LOT of snow buried in strategic spots.
  15. I figured you guys would jump on that...I've got a whole lineup of spots too. I've got class Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8am to 3pm but other than that I'm down. I'm pretty sure there are no issues with security or anything either. It doesnt say no skiing or snowboarding anywhere, and i've heard that security guards have watched and cheered as kids hit handrails in the past. PM me your number or screen name or whatever...
  16. Now that we finally got a little bit of snow I think there's a possibility of hitting some handrails near Kutztown University...I know in most spots the coverage is very low, but the plow trucks have left big piles all around the campus parking lots. There's a nice dfd i've been eying up for a while and it's only a couple steps away from a large snow bank. Is anybody in the area looking to join? It would make the setup a lot easier and faster.
  17. I'll try shaping a nice lip of snow that goes up high next time i'm working....
  18. I agree with having a gaper day, but we should schedule it more towards the spring. I'll make sure park crew participates!!
  19. i think you're right, but the u-box should be out soon i believe
