  1. I think what you need to do is realize that the conditions around here dont allow for a good pipe. And any pipe that may be rideable around here will NOT be consistent due to our weather. And "getting their shit straight" before they look into a team makes no sense at all. With the progression of freestyle skiing and snowboarding ANY terrain park at ANY resort should be constantly evolving and pushing in new directions. Changes and additions to the park should be constantly happening and a team would only help give the resort input. Your complaint of having to work around jumps covered with parents and little kids will never be solved completely. Bear is too small to completely isolate their parks from the rest of the mountain, and if you're serious about riding park you'll take a bit more effort and go ride when there are no crowds. AND... yes, i guarantee there would be more than 3 kids who would like to ride on a freestyle team at Bear Creek
  2. Yea, I think that having a snack stand would be sick, as long as its not the same food and pricing as the lodge...But some water coolers throughout the parks would be nice too. I'd love to grab a few drinks while i'm riding. I dont think many people drink as much water as they should throughout the day.
  3. Boxes are great, but how about some different types of kinked rails. A whole, whole, whole bunch of barrel bonks all over the place would be really fun too. Or just random objects in the park that we can move around...
  4. That thing is damn cool. I hope thats what it turns out like!!! On another note, I want to see an a-frame rail this year...
  5. I'm gonna have to say that out of the thousands of girls here at Kutztown there are definitely plenty of girls without std's.
  6. REALLY!!! I've been riding my freebord (www.freebord.com) all summer and was looking for some good hills around here...I just went to bear yesterday and rode down the access road that goes past the new reservoir. I would definitely be up for shuttling some big hills with a group if you're interested.
  7. Yea, theres a couple kids from Kutztown that ride Bear alot. I'm pretty sure I met you Line, at Camelback maybe? But anyways, I ride Bear probably at least 3-5 times a week during the season. Tis a nice mountain for a park rat...
  8. If you're looking for something to match snowboarding in the summer check out www.freebord.com My brother and I each got one last December and have been slowly becoming more and more obsessed with the sport. Every one of my friends that have tried it or seen it cant believe how well you can simulate the snowboarding sensation on basically any paved hill. Check out some of the videos if you're still not a believer!!
  9. I'd have to agree that you could defenitely build a sick track at pretty much any ski resort. I dont think that it would be TOO big of a deal if the ground got torn up because they'd have to spend time smoothing out all the features they build anyway. Bear would be a prime spot for this too, they've got such a nice facility with the hotel so close to everything. They would probably make a ton of money during a time of the season when business is slow.
  10. If they put in a park like this with rails and whatnot I will definitely 100% TRYYYYYYY to hit them on waterskis if they let me.
  11. People would definitely come from all over to ride. I know kids that line the trunks of their shitty cars w/ plastic bags just so they can try to fill them with ice from skating rinks to hit a handrail. Having this as an option during the summer would be sick.
  12. Camelback has never had issues keeping customers. For every local that decides not to ride Camelback there will probably be 10 more tourists that will show up no matter how pathetic their park is, or how much passholders complain.
  13. Glenn Park in Stroudsburg has sick downhill trails. I've ridden there most of my life. If anybody wants directions lemme know.
  14. HELL YEA. Any kind of hiking, rail garden, big air, rail jam or anything would be sick. PLEASSEEEEEEEEEEE let me ski more!!!
  15. Bears park is way too nice to be closing tomorow
  16. How about the DC Mtn Lab replica stairset that bear built. Probably the coolest feature in PA.
  17. Does anybody have pictures of all this new stuff?
  18. That edible snow should be put right on the landing of the big stairset so when all the jackasses that faceplant after riding over the steps get a big faceful. But instead of making it taste like strawberry or lemon it should resemble police strength MACE. Then maybe they'll learn their lesson...
  19. I was wondering if Bear has been thinking about a park pass program? I'm tired of people that dont belong in the park being in the way all the time. It kills me to see people running over the lips for rails and jumps, riding down the steps, and just generally being in the way. I think that the people who actually want to do stuff in the park would gladly deal with park passes. I know Camelback is a sore subject on here, and I'm not really a fan of anything about their park, but they do have a park pass system that I think works reasonably well. For those of you not familiar with Camelback's parks, this is how they work. You get a park pass by sitting through about a 15 min movie, and then you can go hit up their wack park. Anybody is allowed to watch the movie and get a pass, but you'd be amazed at how many people just dont want to put in the time. The park crew also explains to parents that the features are for experts and whatnot, so some parents take the advice and dont sign for their kids passes. Rental gear is also not permitted in any park except their "progression park." Please dont go off flaming Camelback once i post this. The fact that Camelback has not ever been able to set up a worthwhile park is old news. But I will give them credit for a somewhat succesful park pass system.
  20. I think they should put out the butter box, but taking down that wallride would not be cool.
  21. How can you seriously complain about mechanical difficulties or Bear's park in general. I think the park is sick and understand that not all features can be perfect and fresh all the time.
