Thanks guys, I was genuinely curious as I haven't come across anyone “close” to me who’s had it.

Has anyone on here had or or personally knew someone who had it? I was thinking about this earlier today, I personally only know 1 person who’s had it, and they live in NYC. Other than that, I don’t know anyone who’s had it.

Yup. My buddy lives in Tampa and used to joke about how we were locked down essentially and they could still go out and do things.... not for long. I feel bad for one of my other friends though, just moved to Miami in January, pandemic hit, got furloughed, came home to PA to ride it out, goes back down to Miami and now they’re getting hit with massive increases in daily cases and likely going to be locked down again.

Kennett Square is closing down a stretch of the main road to allow “outdoor business” starting today at 4pm. It’ll be interesting to see how crowded that gets. Cases in southern chester county have remained low for the most part, but I’m sure we’ll see a spike with everyone going out again and going to the beach, lakes, etc etc.

I think it has to do with the server interacting with a bunch of people vs you interacting with just your table and the server.

I’ve been working virtually writing estimates for cars in California. The amount coming in has tripled 3xs over. It’s been insane. People are getting out more there. edit: good one I had the other day, insured didn’t want to take their car to a shop for inspection due to COVID, but the loss was that they were back into in a municipal parking lot while at Venice Beach.

I have a friend that lives in Tampa, his fiancé goes to med school down there, and the second they lifted restrictions they both went out like nothing was wrong. False sense of security.

I took your original comment as a joke btw so no hard feelings there. My dad lost his hearing from years of not wearing ear protection while riding motorcycles with no mufflers, nascar races, drag racing, etc so in a way it was his own doing.

Yeah that’s actually a huge problem right now. My dad wears hearing aids that work via the microphone in his iPhone (crazy right?) but there’s times when he doesn’t have them in and is out around people in masks and he’s told me how much harder it is to understand people because he can’t read their lips, just faintly hear what they say. In his words “I’ve never said excuse me, can you repeat that louder?” As much in my life, and he’s only deaf in one ear. I can’t imagine what it would be like for someone whose worse off hearing wise.

“Taught” the dog to swim today. I had her in the pool before, but she never voluntarily went in by herself. Coaxed her in today with a toy and it took about 3 times before she realized she could get in and out via the stairs as she pleased.

“Measure twice, cut once” approach imo. Keep it locked down longer now, to avoid possibly having to repeat steps 1,2,and 3 in the fall
