  3. Yeah bro. Linking up with locals is what you gotta do. They will show you the good stuff that the tourest's don't know about. Thats what i did in my trip to stowe, and i ended up riding Pow Pow chest deep.. Doesn't get any better.
  4. Yeah i saw alot of constuction over there. Whatever im there to ride, not sit in the lodge.
  5. Speaking of Jay Peak. Have you ever skiied there doug. If so how is it? Ive been wanting to ride there for awhile.
  6. I didn't see the inside of the lodges so i don't know how much any of the food costed. I always just went back to our condo and ate.
  7. After this trip, i think ill be heading back there next year. My parents want to go back aswell, so ill get to go for free, but my big trip will be out west, UT, CO, WY, or Possibly BC.
  8. Ill be out there in about 9-10 months.... Looks sick.
  9. I wish i had enough money to take a summer trip to Chile... I still need to get atleast 3 more days to atleast hit 30.
  10. Begining the Hike on Day 1 Begining to Hike the Chin My friend in knee deep pow pow hiking the chin The Chin, we hike a little further, up past the radio tower, but go blown back after we crested over the other side Locals we hiked with We hiked this drop for about an hour Knee deep in the woods Dropping into Pow. I wanted to grab off the drop but there were 3 tree's at the bottom so it was sketchy as hell I'll post more tomorrow
  11. Im already planning a trip to either Jackson/Utah next year... And more pics to come fellas
  12. Stoked on day one Our first chair up. Here's 2 pictures. Im to lazy and the hosting site is going really slow, ill get some pictures of us hiking the chin, and pictures of us in the tree's later tonight
  13. Yeah we got incredibly lucky, the locals said that this was there best storm all year.
  14. We arrived in stowe around 5:00 and it was dumping, i could hardly sit in the car i just wanted to ride. We got into our condo and it was nice, ate dinner and just chilled, rented a few movies. Me and my buddy went to bed around 11. We arose around 6:30 and it was still dumping. Stowe Day 1. Got on the lifts around 7:45(everything was closed buy the triple chair). Took 5 runs down the trails, in atleast a foot of pow. I saw the double was going to open soon, so i waited inline for that until it opened and was probably the 10th chair up. And from there the day just got even better. We hiked to the top of the quad, in spots we were up to our waist in snow on the hike up. I saw another trail that wasn't lift accessable so we hiked that, waist deep all the way up( ill post pictures later) We took a little break half way up, and some locals were behind us, so we joined up with them to go up even further. We reached the peak of the Chin, and crested over it to recieve 80+ mile per hour winds blowing us backwards. Now for the Decent. We took an EPIC tree line, snow up to my armpits in places, and face shots like no other. Thanks to the locals(Dan and Steve) we popped back out on the trail of waist deep pow pow. We slashed that up with face shots again.. We then took nose dive and how pow all the way down, with visability of about 5 feet and no goggles( they fogged from the hike) i just had to feel the snow with my board to tell were the i was going. After we reached the base we were pretty much dying of hunger. We went back to our condo got some food and rested up. Went back out for about 3 runs, but everything was tracked so we headed in. Stowe Day 2. On day 2, again in the mourning all but the triple chair were on wind hold, so i headed for the tree's and did some crazy tree lines all day, in knee deep pow. We hiked a 10 ft drop for about an hour and got some sick pictures( which ill post later) We headed out of the trees around 1, and we were both exhuasted so we headed in. All in all the trip was AMAZING, and I dunno how im gonna go without pow for almost a year now. Im missing it already. The snow totals up there, were about 10 inches at the base, and ALOT up top, as i said before some spots were chest deep. Ill get some pictures up later. The best quote i heard came from the locals. "You guys definatly dont fit the tourist sterotype, going this burly on your first day out" Steve. That was after our tree line down the chin. Ill have plently of stories for the lifts at blue. Ill be up either thursday or friday, i have to work the next 2 days. And doug i saw your post in the other topic, about moving to montana, i know how you feel bro, I feel the addiction already.

    Stowe Day 1

I arrived in stowe around 5 last night, and when we got here and was dumping. I was super stoked and could barely sleep last night. I got up this mourning around 6:30 and instantly go breakfast and got ready to shred. Because of my parents my friend and I didn't hit the lifts until 7:45, but only the triple chair was open because of the winds. It Dumped all day today, we first took a few runs down the trails and there was probably knee deep pow pow, it was sick. Around 9 they opened up the Double chair, and chris and i instantly starting hiking to the quad. We got up there and said, lets just keep going, We found a trail to keep going up, so we did. I don't know trail names or if was even a marked trail but the pow was waist deep. On our hike we hooked up with some locals and hiked to the peak of... Some mountain, and as we crested the peak, 80+ mph winds instantly blew us backwards. I thought my board was going to fly right out of my hands. SO for the decent, we go through the thickest woods ive ever ridden. Might i add the snow was up to my armpits in spots. Sickest tree line ive done, AMAZING. We got back to the trail we hiked up, and had face shots all the way down, and it was untracked except for the 4 of us that were shreding it. and from there we hit Nosedive and had freshies the entire way down. I was super stoked. After that we went in for lunch and ive never eaten so much food in my life. After an hour rest(me and chris were beat) we headed back out for a few runs. Everything was tracked but hey, i found more pow. We took a few runs and headed in, and now were just resting up for tomorow, as we are hiking it again for more waist deep pow pow.(I guess you can call me a powder whore, but im addicted) Today was absolutly amazing, and i can't wait to get back out there tomorrow.. Ill have many stories on the lifts at blue... haha
  16. Well in 7 hours ill be hitting the road for Stowe, VT. Riding Saturday and Sunday. With dougs report of a good dump, im super stoked and can't wait to shred. Ill try to post reports while im up there, if i can find a computer. Sean i know you'll be up there. If you see someone wearing a White Camo jacket, and black pants, with white goggles, Give me a holla, my name is Dan. Ill be riding with my one friend, and possibly my family for alittle bit, Until i don't feel like waiting for them anymore.
  17. the Closest Mountain i can think of north of Elk would be Hunter, which is in the Catskill mountains. The adorondaks are in Northern NY, which are home to mountains like Gore and Whiteface.

Epic. And doug thats because we spend all our money and skiing and riding equipment instead of fixing our cars.
  19. My friend rode there last year, He loved it. Like Doug said, it can get really windy there though. And it's got a good amount of Vert, and it beats riding in Pa. Have fun.

    PASR Day

Thats when i get up. Weekend riding is only worth it in the mourning in my opinion. It gets crowded and condtions just get worse as the day goes on.
  21. Dan-

    PASR Day

Ill be riding Stowe. otherwise id be there.
  22. Im jealous. Thats a sick house. Keep living the Dream.
  23. If we ever got that much snow on the east coast, you wouldn't even move, nothing on the east is steep enough to handle chest deep pow.. And there would be no BackCountry. It'd be nice to have that amount of snow though, and it's alot better then the fake.

    2/25

I got to blue at around 6:45, alot faster then i expected, so i went to sleep in my car until around 7:15 when i geared up. I met up with doug and jeff in the ticket check line, and rode with them until 10:30 when i headed home. Conditions were Great, not to icy at all, i have very dull edges on my board and i was fine, tonight may be alittle worse, everything will be scraped off, and the winds are suppose to pick up, so I'd expect some ice tonight.
