  1. I woke up this morning drove to BLUE mounatin for the first time ever, put on my new BLUE skis and grabbed my BLUE poles hopped on the BLUE Comet Quad passed a bunch of BLUE lift towers and took my first run of the season down a BLUE square callled tuts lane all of this under a mostly BLUE ski. Sorrry had to get that out. Conditions were great today mostly packed powder with a few random icy spots, but no complaints. a couple spots looked thin and blue could be hurting on some trails if we get all this rain and warm temps but we shall see. Also if i'm not mistaken Burma road made its season debut today around noon and i got to make one of the first tracks on it. It was an awesome first day of sking for me at Blue with my new skis!!!!!
  2. i see 16 trails being open but i doubt nile will be. that trail requires a LOT of snow. it would be cool to see it open but who knows. i just can't wait till they can have the big three(nile, cliffy, pharoh) open on the east side. too bad cliffy is usually last to open.
  3. nice to see that some mountains in the area are expanding their ski area istead of their summer attraction.
  4. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is great!!!

    new skis

yes they are atomice bindings and yeah thats my problem i have no experience with bindings. i know they don't have to be drilled, i'd just rather have it done by a professional.

hey atomic or anyone, now that i have a day off i'm taking my skis and bindings to get mounted and set. can i take them to any ski shop or do i have to go to one that specializes in atomics. the loft would be closet for me but i'm not sure if the can do that. but i'll go where i have to. i want to get out on the snow sometime tomorrow.

THEY ARE HERE!!! UPS just dropped them off tonight while i was at work!! look so nice!! no i have to get the bindings on and set and i'll be good to go! can't wait to get out on the snow!!
  10. We can only hope. can't wait either way
  11. no i bet one or two other's will be open top to bottom . they'll prob get margies, marc anthony or cleo covered. but if temps stay like this they should be able to get a good portion of the west side covered. the east side takes days to cover one trail. raceway and nile takes like 3- 24 hour days of snowmaking to cover. who knows its CB. they have been know to be inconsistent.
  12. i'm confused CB claims to have a state of the art snowmaking system but according to their conditions page they are only making snow on 5 areas of the mountain. one of those is a teaching hill and the other is the park. so they are only making snow on 3 trails meadows birches and tut. i'm sure they will expand to other trails very shortly but it seems they should be making more snow then what they are. i understand these are popular areas and that they are limited to how much air and water they can pump out. and I'm not saying they should have the whole mountain covered in one night but come on, you say you have the best snowmaking system? prove it open with a record amount of trails. I dont know i may be looking at this wrong or am just anxious to get out there.

    new skis

LOL, yeah. actually i saw these skis at a store and couldn't afford their price so i found them online with the 310 Device Binding and i have to wait about a week to get them. after that i will take them to friend at my local ski shop and have them set everything for me. so it will be timed about right. i should have them ready to go for the first time i can make it out on the mountain. And VolklYokel you have no idea which PA mountain i frequent so even if you find me i won't hear you because i'll be flying past you so fast!!! HAHAH jk!!! and thanks again for all the suggestions.

Oh i will let you know for sure. : I kind a like the Atomic SX:7 170s. i'm kinda leaning toward those. i'll give it another day or two before i make a final decision. i've heard/read good things about them. anything new is gotta be better then what i have now. i just can't way to get out on the snow either way.

    new skis

I need a pair of new skis. i don't have a whole lot of money but i was looking online and found a pair or Rossignol T-Power Cobra X 181. My question is. i currently have a very OLD pair of straight Atomics 200 i'm 6'3" tall but i've notice that these skis are getting to difficult to make turns with esp when my knees start acting up. I was looking to get something where i can make turns easier. i don't need bindings, the bindings i have are only a season old as is my poles. so all i need is the skis. I'll take any suggestions from the experts.

    Bumps at CB

I'm not a big fan of bumps. However i think that CB could spare one of their front 4 diamonds. I'd say Asp.
  22. I agree. Snow is on its way one way or another. I predict 12/17 someone in PA will be open with a couple trails. Hang in there!!
  23. Here is yet another 2004/05 winter outlook. Not sure if this was posted yet. Its just saying average temps for most of the NE. Who knows though?? weather forcasters are worthless. Another Weather prediction
