the setup is the same but now theres a pole jam after the candy cane. there is a wide flat box where the long skinny one was, there is a skinny flat bar where the super slippery one with no skirting one was. black bear starts with a small step down into a small step over into a bigger step down. cascade has jump, stairway to heaven, arbor rail, then the super long tube set on a spine. then one jump in tubing which is dope.

yesterday was one of the few days i could have ridden the entire night even after riding all day. it was so nice out all day. jumps were prime.

i heard opening around feb 1st ish

yesterday was pretty sick. got in some out of bounds shredding. jumps are 100x better now they actually have pop to them and are not just flat bank take offs. heard they made snow last night so should be decent out today. looks like their still blowing on kodiak but stopped on black bear tubing and cascade to groom.

IMO the first jump in cascade isnt too great... you dont go high enough for how far it is. straight airing is okay but spinning it sucks. you never get that floating feelign. spine thing is sick but the snow is too close to it at some parts. stairs are super fun just to gap over.

they posted about it on the bciw facebook. seems pretty cool. i hope the jumps are good. the stairs thing is interesting... seems like a sick idea but the setup looked sorta whack when i was there. maybe its legit though i havent ridden it. when they were building it looked like they tried out a differnt spot for the tubing jump and the cascade one was a little bit higher up the trail then usual.

^that. that jump is one of the best we've ever had. i kind of like the idea of an anti jump or cliff type thing as the first jump in black bear. it could be a bit bigger but its fun.

i think everyone (including myself) complained about the race team snaking so much because they were a department of bear creek and the kids werent being taught how to navigate through the park safely. maybe they could ski, but they were snaking just like the gapers do.

i love the new bottom jump on blackbear. its perfect just needs a bit better landing. meaning the landing isnt smooth you can see where they made the different passes which makes holes and stuff later in the day.

haha yeah i heard park build in the middle of the week. park was fun today. landings were suuuper slippery and rock hard. hopefully after a few nights of grooming after all this blowing the snow will really shape up well. cascades got a massive pile on it thats so fun to mess around on.

i dont understand how one gets bored of an endless combination of rails. three rails wide three rails long theres so many lines you can take and an endless amount of tricks to do

exactly the morning wasnt bad but when i was leaving there was a line waiting on the actual road to get onto the bear creek road.

the crowds/gapers were horrendous today. i got snaked on litterally every feature one run. glad they got to blow all day though and should be able to though tonight as well.

2 weeks isnt very long. especially considering they just open and have way less snow down then they usually do.

ahhh guess we got more here in quakertown. had close to an inch but it all blew away and around already.

wish i was shredding the FRESH POW that just fell down.

i dont need a base as long as they still have rails and jumps set up

gunna head up tomorrow after the rain stops... hopefully they don't lose too much snow.

next time they switch up the park i want them to get rid of the massive booter of a lip on the armada rail. that rail to bonk thing doesnt ride right but i like the idea on a bigger scale. like maybe the palmer rail to a taller barrel.

trains were getting gnarly yesterday. everyone throwing stoney baloneys like it was their job. new second jump big hit rides awesome. havent hit the small side yet. first jump sucks now. needs to be poppier. its pretty much flat.

the down rail with the little flat thing at the beggining was like taht last season dfd was perfect today. i dont think that rail has ever been setup better. pretty much the whole park is super fun. i couldnt decide which line i wanted to keep hitting so i hit all of them adn theyre all sick. jump would ride a little better if it was more poppy but its fun.

its funny because bear is one of the only mountains around that sets stuff up like that. i guess they're making changes. it really doesn't matter to me. the rail shouldn't touch the lip or it should just barely meet it. you should never drop down on to a down rail though. i think that just feels super weird.

i havent hit any of it yet but i think kyles talking about how its the same thing as urban but the rail just doesnt hang over the lip. east coast = hangs lip over rail west coast usually doesn't. once you get over the big gap factor its like the same.
