indiggio Posted January 4 Report Posted January 4 Hey all, Back home after the gratest day of skiing at Solitude so far this season. Arrived at the base at 7:15am to about 32 degrees and like 3” of graupel on the ground and some flurries still falling. Up Moonbeam and down Main Street over to Ajax, it was smooth sailing through some untracked powder. Lapped Ajax lift looking for untouched stashes. Made the short uphill pije to get to Blue Spruce that was mostly untouched bumps. The Powderhorn loads at 9 which I hadn’t rode this year yet, so I headed that way and got in line. For a Sunday, lines weren’t bad at all. I think all the LDS are in church, so that thins the crowds early on. Up the Powderhorn, all the runs were empty and looked superb, the start of the upcoming storm was trying to snow but it was just a tad too warm. Came down Paradise as an homage to Blue which held. 6-8” of fresh. Lapped the Powderhorn a bunch more times as there weren’t many people coming down the steeper runs. Had my fill as the light was getting flat and the legs were burnt. Supposedly a good storm inbound tonight forecasting upwards of 2 feet in the Cottonwoods. JADIP 1 1
