Yet another bluebird high-pressure day in Utah, will the jet stream flow ever change us anyone’s guess.

Arrived at the mountain just after 7 and the lodge was already astir with all sorts of freeski contestants booting up for the contest today and tomorrow.  Have to check that out!  Skiers from various local mountains of all ages were getting ready.

Pleasant temps in the lower 39’s at the start only to warm up as the sun came over the ridge.  Super fast and smooth groomers to start off Moonbeam and Apex.

Stopped a. Poole of times at the judging location to check if they started the come yet, only to find they were still scoping out the area.

High speed laps and a run down some bumps to check out the conditions. Could still find some fluff from the recent 1-2” dumping.

Up to the summit, decided to take a run down into Honeycomb Andre its now open .   Never been back here before so took it gingerly as I hadn’t a clue.  Lots of steep trees and long runout.  Need to do a lot more exploring back here since it holds the snow well.

Back around and io, checked out the freeski comp for a while.  Lots of youth running at this time with one girl really throwing it!

REALLY need the jet stream to shift, but still very surprised at how well it’s holding up!

Agree with everything you said about the high pressure needing to change but the snow surprisingly holding up. Chris Tomer says things may change after 2/8
