indiggio Posted February 15 Report Posted February 15 After riding a 3.5 earthquake the other night, I’m back from a sweet Valentine’s Day at Solitude. Day started out in the upper 20’s with a bite in the air until the sun came over the ridge and made it feel a lot warmer than the air temp. With a little snow this past week, all the groomers were in wonderful packed powder shape. I line up on the singles line and got paired up with a trio of UTSRs who are Solitude SP holders and have their own reserve line and ski there every day. There was no reason to bull-rush the chair but they do anyway, so I had to keep up and get 1st civilian chair. Did some high-speed groomers with them until I bolted for other runs. The mountain had a Valentine’s Day chocolate tour, so I had to do that, hitting all the free chocolate giveaways. The snow under the Sunrise lift was grate, so I just kept lapping it and the adjacent woods. It was also another Utah dream day, with temps in the 50’s back in the valley, so hit up T.F. Brewing and hung out with the dogs in the courtyard, having a couple beers. Also Solitude & IKON giving away perks for repeated visits… 7
