lurker Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 Hey everybody. About two weeks ago now, I managed to lose both my helmet (an old Matte Black Giro S4 with a Helmet Cam velcro piece on the side) and my googles (Nice Oakley Wisdom's, "Jet black" which means black with little silver pieces on them with a clear lens). I did the old "leave it on top of your car and drive away" trick. The helmet didn't get far, we checked the sides of the roads and the parking lot the same night and it wasn't there, so someone grabbed it and didn't turn it in. I checked lost and found and it's definently gone, but here's the kicker: My freaking name, phone number, and address are on a big orange sticker in plane view on the inside of the helmet. So, someone definently has it and know's it's mine . If anybody here knows anyone that found a helmet/googles in the parking lot or sees anybody with this setup on: <--- but with a clear lense Please kindly ask him for my helmet back, haha. I will love you forever and we can split it or something, I don't know . Notice the velcro thingy on the left side. If thats on there, it's a dead give away. Even if they peeled it off, it might still leave a rectangular mark. Thanks in Advance to anyone who keeps an eye out for me.
Shadows Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 some car maunfacturers are looking into roof sensors now for just this sort of thing. should be pretty cool.

Sno Mountain Skier Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 I think I'd rather lose my $5 gloves than haveto pay an extra $500 (or more) when I buy a car. Yea but there are some people, who do this type of thing regulary.
adrian Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 a lost wallet could potentially cost you much more than $500. with snow, ice, and rain for false set offs, i cant see this happeneing anyway.
skifreak Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 Yeah, I remember the one time on Jackass they put a doll in a carseat and drove around a parking lot with it on the roof. I wonder if any idiots do that in real life...
LineSki Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 I did that last night when I was in a hurry to get out of cb and left my coat on top of my car. Thank god some guy blocked me off and said hey you got shit on your roof!

lurker Posted February 11, 2006 Author Report Posted February 11, 2006 Yeah, I could have definently used an "idiot you left crap on the top of your car" sensor. It's nice to see I'm not the only one who does this. Hopefully I'll find the person who has it .
