They still have a bunch of trails open but it doesnt look like alot of coverage. Any park reports? Their pipe looks a little sloppy too. We took a beating this week with all the rain... coverage is deminishing quick, as for parks we still have some tricks up our sleeve. Should be fun up there. Any chance Killington will blow at night? I checked the weather and its supposed to be around 25 at night for a week or so. Not complaining though, all the parks are open. i do work park crew here in ktown. the main park has some 25-30' jumps, other trails on bear have some 40'+. park has 7 new features, flows great. snowmelt is a problem. Johnny Style Posted March 31, 2007 Report Share Posted March 31, 2007 Killington was OK today. Frankly, Blue was just as good last Monday night. There were bumps galore, as even the flat runs built up some nice soft bumps by the end of the day. Lots of bare spots though. Today wasn't about skiing so much as the vibe anyway. I quit around two to get a good spot for Blue Oyster Cult and spent the rest of the day with a few thousand of my new friends drinking and smoking the day away. Don't fear the reaper. And yes, there were two guys with cowbells in the front row. I've got lots of potos but I'm on a friends computer at the moment. Perhaps later as a TR. Johnny Style Posted April 4, 2007 Report Share Posted April 4, 2007 I think they are supposed to get some snow this week. That should make for a good weekend. When I pulled out of Killington on Monday it was raining and foggy. I had a blast last weekend. Here are a few photos. The Bear parking lot was full real early and the Bear Mountain access road was filled by 11 a.m. We had to park on the access road and hike the rest of the way up. It took so long that 4:20 came early in the woods. There was a mogul competition on Saturday on Outer Limits. However, it was indeed warm and spring-like. Killington has seen better conditions this late into the year. I think this is Ovation next to Superstar. The conditions didn't bother some people. Here is what that guy had to ski over to get to the previous photo. Of course the whole mountain isn't like this. Here is the view from Superstar which was awesome to do laps on. Bear Mountain was pretty packed and skied out due to the festivities. The deck at the lodge was rocking. Well after the skiing there is nothing better than enjoying a beverage of one's choice and enjoying some good music. Blue Oyster Cult was waiting for us at the bottom. They are playing "Don't Fear The Reaper" in this photo and if you look closely at the front row you can see a few fans who brought their own cowbells and played along. Sunday was much less crowded and we actually got to park in the Bear parking lot. After another ripping day of skiing we just kicked back for a little tailgating. Here is a happy Johnny Style. rgrwilco Posted April 4, 2007 Report Share Posted April 4, 2007 i dont know about you, but 420 is always early at killington, no matter where you park haha. those conditions are beat. i heard it has to do with the sale of killington, and that they did not want to spend pointless money on snowmaking just to sell. most of the other northeast resorts still have alot more coverage then that. oh well. heres to waiting for killys opening day next season to start it off. It's funny you mention that because a bunch of locals were saying the same thing as you, that it was all due to the sale of the mountain.
