  1. The son, Jeremy Shank would be a J1, but he dropped out.
  2. Is he the steezemachine?

    Rumors

Because they get opportunity to try and beat the fastest racers in the world.
  4. I don't have time to go through 54 posts on this topic, but I heard that BC was going to move NASTAR to a dedicated NASTAR trail.

    PA Cup weekend

I don't see so much back seat or skidding, 'dude. But, IMO, SL photos look more impressive from a frontal view where the cross block can be seen.
  6. They are welcoming, drink a lot, and do a lot of social things - like ski trips. As compared to the more hard core race ski clubs. Though I'm more interested in racing than socializing, my interactions with them have been positive. I'd guess that you are younger than their average member, but there is variability. Why not give it a try - it's not like you'd be tied to them for life...
  7. He medaled in one of the Olympic races, but is a local Vermonter who loves to teach. Kind of short notice...

Doesn't Auntie Amy live near Cranmore?
  10. It depends on your interests. KOP is more socially oriented than most other ski clubs. If the social component is important to you, go for it. I have raced against KOPs, and they seem like a friendly group.

    Stuck in Meters

Help, Sibby, or anyone else familiar with the vertech altimeter. For unknown reasons, mine changed over to meters instead of feet. I checked the directions, but can't figure out how to change it back. Vertical meters skied are SO UNREWARDING -
  12. We are still waiting here...
  13. Undoubtably. But, it could be even better once the snow improves and the Bode skis arrive.
  14. Thanks for that 1-800 number '999. It worked like a charm - I'd have probably made the trip for nothing. One of these days or years I'll make it up there to try out their course.
  15. Thanks, '999. I may do that. If I go, it would be for the AM rock runs... Too bad Jimmy and Johnny don't make a useful commercial by commenting on NASTAR and training conditions
  16. No wonder you guys are so fast - bionic underwear. I always assumed it was testosterone... I'll take six dozen pairs.
  17. Are you guys joking? CB was like mashed potatoes (with gravy), and their NASTAR course disintegrated sometime last week. Anyone have a magic ball? Should I come tomorrow? I don't want to pay $$$ for a weekend pass unless it's a good opportunity to train. But, nothing good will be going on at CB tomorrow.
  18. Hey, will those tights hold my calf together, or make me feel strong? I need all the extra muscles I can get...

    PA Cup weekend

The snow coverage is worse there than here. The 'dude finished his runs but was not phenomenally happy with his times.
  20. If the spiderman suit has a cape, it will slow you down. It's nice to have the padding. Metz, you are talking about ASRA, right? Most people don't routinely do NASTAR in race suits...
  21. They've got plenty of stretch around the equator. I've seen men with guts three times yours girth fit into them ... not a pretty site, but I've never heard of anyone rupturing out.
  22. And, don't worry about it being too short, since it stretches in all directions.
  23. Go larger - round a size up from what they recommend. Speed suits are like wearing a tight elastic band. I don't recall exactly how tall you are, but I'm thinking you'd be an XL, at a minimum. I'm 130 lbs and wear a large without much extra room.
