I think tomorrow morning will be decent. C1 have you met Robert2?  I have to google what ham radio is.  I do know that video killed the radio star.

Met him a couple of times skiing weekdays at Frost. Think this is him. Will DM you some current web links. Creepy much? Scary what a web presence we leave

Ah dang, wrong Johnny!  What happened to Robert 2 aka R2D2 and Papasteezes Nipples, are they pro now?

Any VT plans when Blue closes this year?

I think R2’s physical disabilities and lack of transportation caught up with him, and he is pretty involved in ham radio now. You can see the parking lot hang out location from some of GSS’s  early morning photographs. Too far for me to walk. About all you can say about this morning’s skiing was that it was better than not skiing. Hope they haven’t stopped blowing for the season.

Is that the SkiVisions base flattener tool?

Yes, ski visions – not ski man. It’s a pretty good tool that I like a lot. I use the coarse stone as opposed to the medium one shown to put a spring structure on. I also have a similar ski visions tool that has a magnetized slot that holds a flat file that can take some material off the base edges as well as pretty aggressively take ptex off. Kind of a poor man’s stone grind.

  4. Bit the bullet and took the Skiman base flattering tools to the new Head Kores to put an aggressive spring structure on. Found the factory base to be remarkably flat considering how wide they are. Followed up with various grades of Scotch Brite pads.

  5. Conditions pretty good considering. All the slopes are pretty well smashed down. Just had the six pack going at the start, and then about a half hour later started up the quad. So we had two sets of nice clean slopes. Big brown spot on main street and nightmare Dreamweaver getting a little thin. Run of the day was freefall, if you didn’t mind paying the price on lower Paradise. Switchback and Nightmare tied for second.

They were salting razors, getting it ready for a speed camp tomorrow.

I’ll hit up challenge and switchback later after the masses grind up the cookies so it’s just ice and cookies.  Also the glades aren’t open..unless you’re Candide Thovex.  Double alarm set ski everybody tomorrow morning.

My vote is that with the whales sitting there for a week the grooming will turn out great on Challenge and SB.

  7. Conditions were surprisingly good given the warmth and strong wind.  Razors was closed, nightmare/dream Weaver, lost a lot of cover, but freefall was in pretty good shape, as well as the run out on paradise.

Main Street was in pretty good shape at the start of the day, although it was getting cut up around 11. Lower Main Street remained very consistent. A lot of action on Barney’s Bumps.

  8. 21 degrees at the bottom at 8, and 34 at 11. Razors was groomed and pretty solid. They appeared to do a quick pass with the groomer on NMDW then blew snow on it so you got slick spots and sticky new snow. A little better later in the morning when visibility was better. Freefall was pretty good, but the run out on Paradise was kind of an ungroomed frozen mess. Main Street was nice but had some marbles, ROTD was Curzi’s down thru Chute. Things should be pretty nice this afternoon when it warms up a little.

Saw the back of JLaws helmet heading out from Main Street Express. Noticed yesterday that lift kept stopping for a minute or two several times a lift ride. Seemed to coincide with a large crowd hanging out in the unloading area up top. Wonder If the top lifty  is stopping the lift to allow tings to clear out.

That is incredible ! Spot on for the most part and I love his deep psychological inferences. I don't know if gym bros is accurate though as while I see some young people driving one it seems most popular with the older crowd.

My son loved his Element until someone grabbed his catalytic converter which pretty much totaled it.

  10. Conditions were pretty good all over this morning. Even at rope drop things were a little soft and carveable. The sun was out for a while, and then heavy clouds rolled in so it never got too warm and the snow never got slushy by the time I left at one. Conditions were a firm packed powder with very few icy or snow pile spots. Pretty crowded for a Monday, with a lot of people on the black slopes because of how forgiving they were. A pretty fierce wind blowing up the mountain, especially on razors and main street.

  11. Got talking to the guy next to me in the parking lot with a sweet pop up truck camper and missed the rope drop, and the racers crowded the quad so went up on the six pack. Conditions much than yesterday, and got better as yesterday morning went on. Fierce wind on Main Street, people struggling coming off Burma trying to get up that hill near the ski patrol building.   The two guys on Razors yesterday must have been preparing to set up the gates for the U18 race today. Overall a great day and should be a good weekend.

Challenge dumps onto falls, and homestretch.  Sidewinder does the same.  Switchback dumps onto lower main.  Lol.  so, expanding which of these trails will keep shuttle, homestretch and terrain run from getting beat to shit in 2 hrs?

When the place is fully open it gets beat to shit in two hours.  this is nothing new.

Switchback won’t get the traffic that Sidewinder would to relieve pressure on the existing trails from blue trail skiers, imho.

  13. Hit the slopes about 10, hoping things would have softened up a little. Saw the gates on Razors but not closed (just a experts only sign which didn’t clue me in), so I gave it a try. Top headwall was ok, but where it levels out a little were large piles of massive softballs. Below the elbow and the bottom headwall were nice. I don’t see how a groomer can mess up a slope like that from yesterday. Then they closed the slope so two guys could run the gates.
Lazy was the ROTD with Freefall and NM/DW close behind, although Main Street’s bottom section was good and the marbles on the upper part were at least a little softish. New snow on Freefall too, some slick spots on NM/DW. Curzi’s and the Chute OK with some new snow. A lot of snow being blown on the parks and tubing. Fries and Gatoraid on the lower patio, got to keep the money in-house.
