A lot of places still use the hand scanners for some reason.
Every mountain that I went to on my NH tour did.
Some even still used a wicket ticket!

They mainly scan as you enter the snow at the lodge. Sometimes a scanner will move from lift to lift for a few minutes. 10 minutes at a lift will catch anyone without a pass. Most weekday afternoons that we ski we don’t get scanned at all.

I got accidental air off it Friday (like maybe 1 cm) and felt like a bad ass skier.

Did chute over the lip today and there were 2 boarders hanging out about 30 feet down.

I can't believe there was a fight over a parking spot. One time I parked my Sonic in an extremely tight spot, and I didn't even get in a brawl.

Used to have a tiny 1990 Honda civic junker. Took great pleasure in squeezing into spots in ski areas where people parked just close enough together that they thought someone couldn’t park between them. Usually high end vehicles.

Oh I thought the senior pass was good for unlimited…I guess the email was meant for midweek passholders.

It is, Airhead must have a weekday pass. My skipping weekends is by choice (I could say I don’t like crowds, but it is really to let the old body recover).

  5. ?

My second year with a senior pass.

When I left today at 11, there were probably 50 cars parked across the street.

Have an off peak, northeast, senior Epic pass to ski Frost with the wife.

  6. Great conditions, fierce wind blowing up the hill. Blowing still on sidewinder, Switch open but very marbley as expected for first day. Everything else very nice.  Razors stayed open. Freefall and Challenge very edgeable .

Pretty crowded though with schools off today. Third run up the quad the line was backed up halfway to the gates in the corral. By 1015 all three lifts were backed up to the gates.

  7. All slopes in pretty good shape except Midway and the area above (though better than yesterday). Quad was running better than yesterday, although still had some delays. By 10  the line for the quad was backed up to the gates. No sign of starting challenge express by the time I left at 11. Noticed a lot of the trails are groomed out a lot wider than previously, particularly freefall.

  8. Challenge Express started up about 1030 after the quad had extended pauses on every trip up. Every slope was in great shape except the section above midway that had some big groomer gouges hiding in the shadows. Strong wind  blowing up the hill, but not too bad on more protected slopes. Guns going full blast on Sidewinder and Switch, neither were open. Glades were sketchy if you care about your equipment. Hit one of my higher speeds of the year on lower Main.

  9. Just Jeff and I that I saw this morning. Nice conditions on Razors and TCS, bulletproof and flat. Marbles on Challenge. NM/DW and lower Paradise in good shape. Lazy and Main got pretty soft and cut up fairly quickly. Lot of skid marks on Main. Chute and Midway had a lot of uneven groomer marks but still skiable. Hopefully not much rain before the snow.

Yea but, you're a typical girl in a jeep. You'll be fine.

    Native (from Jersey) lol

Jeep all terrain tires can be a little slippery in snow. I get nervous taking the camper over the million dollar highway even in summer. Can’t imagine it in winter.

  11. Nice conditions today, almost as good as yesterday. Freefall was a little marbley, Paradise very good first thing - the bottom got marbley later, NMDW was excellent all morning, apparently they are spraying urea on Razors to harden it up (not many people on it), Challenge was excellent, Lazy good, Main St was soft on top and marbles below Midway but very skiable. The limejacket group had Curzi’s Cabin closed. Making a lot of progress on Switchback, just getting started on upper Sidewinder.

A lot of lesson groups and, I think, PSIA certification going on. A really good day.
