Did notice they are blowing the backside of tubing that connects to finish line? Never saw that before and can’t figure out why. Second pic below

Is the the bit above Frontier Alley, the learing area? If so, that's were the new terrain park is going, I guess, lol

So now there's a rumor going around the Coming Soon is going to be closed from 8-2 Sat & Sun for BMR training.

    Anyone else hear?

Hope they make enough snow last night and tonight to widen lower Paradise significantly, with all that race kid traffic ripping down it after they're all concentrated on Coming Soon.

  3. Got there late with the boys for their forst go of the year, went to get on the super six and Thing 1's pass wouldn't scan. Sent Pops and Thing 2 on ahead, they were already through the gates and went in to have it fixed. Took about 15 minutes with about 4 parties in front of us so wasn't too bad. It took the rep like 8 tries to get it working though, so I was sure mine wouldn't be working when we got back out though, since we have the same name all all, I expected so.e sort of fuckery but it was good.

Went up and spotted Pops gettin on the Vista lift as we went up so waited for them at the top. Decided to lap Vista a bit instead of running Burma, so the boys could get some turns in at least. Did thst like 3 times and then took them over to the Summit school carpet where they ran laps for 45 minutes or so while we sat and watched and had a drink.

Skied down Burma to get back down to the lot, definitely sugar piles all over the place, but coverage was at least there even in the corners. And it wasn't toooo crowded 🙄:

Took the long way home and took them to McDougal's in Walnutport to make up for such a crappy first day and that one still has a PlayPlace so all in all a pretty good day for them.

Likely out on tomorrow, so Happy New Year all!

Yeah. What was open today being open on monday is gonna be a stretch. Vista goes though.

Might bring the boys up tomorrow just with the goal of running some Vista laps. Their Adventure camp starts next weekend and I haven't gotten them out yet

That's the rules we gotta play by.  Besides even if Blue could add The Camel to your pass remotely you still have to get your seasons parking pass or be subject to the $12 fee for the pesant lots or $50 for VIP where you only have to go up one stairset or hill, skier/riders choice.

Sucks that they make you park in Lot 3 as passholders. Lot 8 is where I always liked to park when I go there.

Looks like the park will remain on Barbs way and we get a fresh build with the first jump of the season!

So I guess we can assume upper mountain snowmaking efforts main street side may have went to Upper Main or potentially Lazy Mile rather than Come Around.

Based on the latest drone footage they posted a few hours ago, I would day Paradise and Coming Soon are a lock, unless it's a lot thinner than it looks. Obviously hard to judge depth from a drone flyover.

It looks like Upper Main didn't get the love. Maybe they needed the water for the sticks on tubing 3.

They still have the fan guns on, you can see the rainbow being generated on the Vista cam.

Mad props for trying it's gotta be near 40 there.

They're still rocking some of the stick guns too. On the tubing cam you can see the sticks going on the far slope, and you can see that there's snow being made up on Paradise, at the top of the cam. Not sure if they have a fan or two at the Paradise/DW intersection that might be coming from though . . .

They made some fast grass last night but I'm still hopeful for upper or something. Just throw up some lollipops and let it rip.... still major props for having the guns on they can't be getting much if anything now

Judging by the rollers on the tubbing cam, they might have gotten some pretty decent production.

Skiing should never really suck, but skiing those three trails over Christmas is gonna get super old, super quick.

Truth. If I were off Christmas week and able to ski every day, I would consider looking into whether I could still add on the Camelback option, lol.

Not that I expect they will open a ton more, but variety n'at.

Yeah, not gonna hold my breath for that one, but if this forecast holds, they have a shot at it.  not a lock by any means, but they would have to go full send on it when they can.  One would think that free fall is pretty much being held hostage by Paradise, since they have those really nice guns on FF.  I think they would want Paradise and FF open for Christmas, so it makes sense that they would give it the old college try.....not the college i went to, but the good kind of college.

They got the same guns on Paradise too now, at least I think they are the same. All new guns top to bottom this summer, but it didn't work out for them. I read somewhere they said they lost a lot of the production on Paradise into the trees with the wind. Hopefully the wind stays away drunk the snowmaking windows this week

  11. After the lot hangout I headed back inside to try to get Thing 2's 9 and under pass activated. Took a look at the line at Guest Services and noped outta there.

On the way out figured, "I'm here, let's pop in and see what the lineblooks like at the top lodge." Was pretty shocked at the number of cars up there, even with the whole second row blocked off while they do the paid parking conversion I didn't expect the top lot to be that full compared to the bottom lot.

Went in and there was about 10 people in line with 3 windows open, not bad so stuck it out. About 25 minutes and got it taken care of no problem, also got them to put my entitlements back on my 40th anniversary pass after I forgot it last week and had to get a new card.

Popped out to the courtyard to check out the menu for Wood Fired Pizza, amd pricing is right on where we figured it would be at $15 for a plain, but 12 inch pies instead of the 10 I thought it would be:

I was hungry, so figured what the hell amd bought a Dreamweaver:

It was ready in about 5 minutes, it wasnt busy at all. It was quite good, plenty of toppings and didn't skimp on the sausage/pepperoni. Good tasting sauce and nice crispy crust but still soft dough. Value wise was it a $19 worth pizza? Probably not, but factoring in entertainment venue pricing I think it was a good value, certainly better than what you would walk out of the cafeteria with for $19.
