WJW, you must have connections at Blue. I wonder if they text @Johnny Law updates as well since he's the best skier on the mountain?

If he's got connections, I dunno what I've got. They texted me three times.

I was wondering why they aren’t blowing on lower main where they need it but on vista and the horseshoe where coverage is good.

i think that would require them running a compressor.  Nobody would see the compressor running, so it doesnt add to the show.

Kudos for turning some stuff on, im sure it will go a long way on the FB, but they are just fighting the weather, and the weather is going to always win.  i work in a very weather dependent business, and i learned this a long time ago.

The big question from anyone who was up today, did they seem to run any of the newer guns (or even the few fans) on Coming Soon or Paradise? Both could have used it, and both have guns that are supposed to be able to operate in the more marginal temps.

If they made snow there, I would say that it's a legit attempt to piece together one more weekend maybe. If they didn't then I agree it's a PR show, because with the state of those runs, no reason not to

    Fan guns

  4. This doesn't seem different to me than any other year since I started skiing at Blue. They've always seemed to shut down midweek skiing right around when there was barely enough snow to make two more weekends. And that's where they're at right now. It doesn't seem like a different strategy, it's just happening earlier.

Of course, Side and Switch would have still been open if they didn't waste days of single digits and teens not blowing any snow on them earlier.

  5. I wonder how many tickets they have sold already for Thursday. If not many I wouldn't be surprised if they just stay closed until Friday if the heavy rain they are calling for tomorrow hammers things too hard.

He’s from the reading area and he’s FB friends with a DJ I know and I trolled him in comments lol but that’s back when I was immature and tactless.

O’Doyle rules.  And his ex wife has the Karen haircut and crazy Courtney has her same haircut. It’s definitely a high maintenance cut.

Not sure if he still does, but he used to work in IT for Amazon. Kept me waiting 30-45 minutes for a circuit install in Quakertown a few years ago, no one else could let me in their IT cage, he had the only key, lol

Maybe not tomorrow for me now as it’s showing 1/4-1/2” of rain.  Sunday looks primo for spring skiing.

69 news this morning said they expect the rain to be mostly sporadic showers and drizzle, so unless it's raining pretty hard when I wake up, I'll be there both days. Gotta get them in, not many left

  8. My excitement over this is tempered by the fact that I'm sure the Camelback child pass is only good at Camelback, even though it says Peak to Peak child pass in the description. I'm sure that just means that's the type of pass it's adding on to. That means I still have to buy Walter a full Blue pass to put him in Adventure Camp, since their child pass is only good for 9 and under, so even if I got him the one from Camelback I'm sure that Blue won't activate their access for him on it.

Have to do some figuring to see if it makes any sense after all. Doesn't seem like it

honestly its not a bad deal for $200 more, especially if you're local to the area and can do all of the summer stuff.

It is tempting to bump up to it for Walter and I. Would have to see what the child option is at Camel, the site only mentions contacting them for adding on child access, and their pass page isn't active yet.

Even without adding any access for Grayson, 10 buddy passes between us would easily cover the days I would ski with them there. And then the summer tickets are likely shareable. I could take them up to the Camel waterpark a couple times in the summer and only have to buy one ticket.

But on the other hand, we all had Dorney passes this past year, and I only went with them twice and their mother took them a couple more times, and that's far closer, lol. So it's a tough sell to myself to claim that we would actually motivate to make it up there in the summer. The Blue summer stuff would be easier, though

saw that too. also thought wording was vague.

indoor waterpark access is a big add-on. i just went looking for it, but it's gone. a year or two ago they were selling full / partial season passes (3mo at a time). they were $$$$$$$$. struggling to find the rate somewhere.

archive org isn't really cooperating, but here was that landing page

Bruhh why dont I see First tracks in the Camelback perks!  They better not do away with that.

Detailed list of inclusions posted. First tracks is listed for Camelback. Full pass for outdoor waterpark, discounts only for indoor. 5 buddy passes is nice. Nice that at Blue it seems to include 2 summer tickets for adventure park, bike park, laser tag and lift ride, each, instead of choose 2 tickets for any of these activities.

I know they do dynamic pricing like ski tickets now, so you have to choose a date to see prices. But it looks like a day ticket to the indoor park starts at $89. A season pass for the outdoor park can be had right now for $129.

Given that, I can only imagine it's probably one visit each (or even one visit to both on the same day) and not any sort of unlimited access. And it still doesn't make sense for me, it would be a $200 upgrade for me and Walter, but an $820 upgrade for Grayson. Maybe if they keep it around and I'm paying full price for both of them in future years . . .

Now this is interesting. $200 to add on skiing at Camelback, no thanks. But add in the waterpark access, particularly the indoor waterpark, that's interesting. Wording is a little vague about if you get the perks of both mountains though, or only the one you buy from.

I'm not going back to JFBB

Not sure why I'm getting blasted for actually saying that I wanted to think about something before actually dropping nearly a grand. Damn

I feel you. I'll be doing some more hard looking next year when neither one of my kids qualifies for the Child pass. Right now I can average their cost. Once they're both having to pay full freight, it'll probably be youth passes for them and no more Adventure Camp, or maybe some sort of every other year leapfrog, I dunno.
