Were any of the runs at Montage good?? I'll show you some sweet woods at Blue that require mandatory Giant Slalom turns.
Boomer was good. Smoke was really bumpy. Cannonball turned to a sheet of ice. I don't do White Lightning yet, sounds too intimidating. Can't wait to try some double diamonds at Blue in a few weeks. Cliffhanger @ CB is getting too easy.

Wow just wow so you were walking with your straps undone and they were dangling along the ground.
Nope, had my straps securely fastened. I just stepped the wrong way and broke a rivet... twice.

Wow you sound like an early riser were you ever a paperboy Saltyant? Montage was a joke? Didn't you get to enjoy fluffy pow pow in the woods??
Nope. I just like getting up early to beat the crowds.
I don't ski in the woods because I think it's against the rules. We were annoyed because Lower Runaway was horrendous... icy moguls with dirt in between. Then we took Long Haul, a 13 minute ride, and had to then walk uphill to get to the next trail because almost everything was closed. I had gone to Vermont (Elk) the day before, and there was just no comparison.

Walking up steps in ski boots...wahhh cry me a river.
I already broke two straps off my boots by walking down steps. One was from exiting the Camelback shuttle because I had to park several football fields away. Never go there at 2 pm on a weekend or you'll park in the boonies.

The snow looks great dank and powdery like a marijuana cocaine speedball.
They have one more night to groom. I'll post pics tomorrow once I'm the first person on the mountain to see how they did.
8 minutes ago, GrilledSteezeSandwich said:If you park between the two high speed lifts, what lift do you start on? Did you work at Montage before?
Nope, actually worked at Eagle Rock for 2 seasons and 2 days as a lift attendant. I posted the Montage pass as a joke to a friend, since we skiied there last March the weekend after the storm and it was a joke.
I start on Stevenson, but last year they made me stand there for 30 minutes until they opened the lift. Apparently Sullivan opens at 7:30 but Stevenson doesn't open until 8:00. So I need to re-strategize this year to optimize First Trax.

Is this your first season with a pass at Camelback?
Got it last March. I was parking in the lot between the 2 high speed lifts, which is excellent. However, that's obviously not an option tomorrow and I hate walking up all the steps in boots.
4 minutes ago, GrilledSteezeSandwich said:You can still park there just pay $20 lol
Naaaah. I calculated the cost is about $0.27 per footstep for preferred parking.

It's early season and you are complaining about having to park 50 yards farther SMHerman I don't think they typically have the first tracks season pass holder perk the first weekend of the season when there's one trail open. You should be walking on sunshine that they're opening tomorrow even if it's an inferior product to what Blue has and should also be happy that you don't need to navigate the variable conditions on midway..can get your ski legs back on easier terrain.
Of course I'm really excited, but I just wanted to park in that coveted "preferred parking" lot at least once. Another dream shattered.

I might end up at Blue. Getting annoyed with CB. First no First Trax, and now no preferred parking despite that their website clearly says "Preferred parking on Saturday & Sunday is also available Free to the first 20 Super Pass holders." WTF?
" Camelback has allocated a significant number of preferred parking spots for a nominal fee of $20.00 on weekends and holidays. " My definition of "nominal" is way different.

Did you take any video opening day at Blue?
Nope forgot my GoPro.

CB just posted some sick previews of the pistes for tomorrow. Coverage looks pretty dank. Cant wait to be first in line and scoop up all that fresh powdery cord. Best part is Ill get preferred parking, so only 2 flights of steps instead of 3.

I will be all in black but with white poles. My skis have some fluorescent green at their tips. Say hi if you see me.
Ok, thanks. I'm not sure if we met last Friday, but I remember reading you were stuck on the lift with me for 28 minutes. I only know what Steeze, Atomic, Enjorales and Root look like.
I'll be at the front of the line around 8:00 AM waiting for first chair. All black, Smith IO-X goggles, red Elon skis, red boots, and a Gopro Hero+ on my helmet.

Be sure to write a report Saltyant!!!
Will do. I already have some ideas, but this time I'll probably write it after going. I'll take some pictures and see if I can figure out who Ski2Live Live2Ski is.

Great, I will look for you near the Mountain Coaster queue.

Anyone want to ride the mountain coaster after skiing? It's only $15.

Anyway have fun you must be walking on sunshine and shaking your titties
Thanks. My predictions earlier today proved mostly accurate. You thought I was crazy when I said I would be skiing Marjie's on Saturday. I was pretty close, just a couple trails over.

Is upper mark Anthony a good run?
It's really narrow and not very steep. Honeymoon is much wider and you can get some decent speed on it. Honeymoon is probably the lamest name for a trail ever.

Nah. This thread has attained "hot" status and now has 110 replies.

So....basically Easy Out / Vista?
Nope, it's top to bottom with a high speed quad. About 670 feet of vert based on quick Google Earth analysis of the Sullivan lift. Comparatively, the Vista lift is only about 270 feet. The downside is no diamonds are open, but at least the high speed quad is only a 3 minute ride.

I really couldn't tell if you were serious or trolling the shit out of us half the time.
Mostly serious, just trolling about snowtubing at Camelback. Since both of those are disliked here it's fun getting everyone riled up.

Salty it comes across dude. All is good. Enjoy skiing your home mountain this weekend.. . Post a TR
Thanks Ridge. Will do. I told you guys those webcams were weeks old, the groomer was not on snowtubing, and they just needed to spread the snow out.

Your Friday gon be so much better now, lol
I might pass on skiing this weekend. I'm feeling more like biking....
... Just kidding. Haha. After the countless posts on here about this topic, that would be funny. My sense of humor apparently doesn't come across in my posts sometimes.

Opening weekend has finally arrived. Thanks to Enjorales for breaking this great news for all Camelback season pass holders on here.
Two trails will be open: Upper Marc Antony and Honeymoon. I'll take most of the credit for this since I suggested they open these two trails on FB on 11/25. The big kick off will be Saturday at 8:30 am.

I'd be interested to see how steep each slope is at CB, Blue and Montage. Has anyone ever figured out what the grades are?
