To be honest, I think you did! Couldn’t bring myself to drive with the hordes of people to Eldora today but knew I wanted to get out. It takes a lot of snow to fill in where I was skiing, so doubtful it will happen again soon.

Ok Doug, if you say it’s legit I will count it.

Little urban skiing today. I had read on FB that some people skied some of Sanitas. I took my dog up there for a hike first to check it out. Saw 4 people out and some tracks. So I took him home and got my skis. Strapped them to my pack u til I walked up to the start of the valley trail where it is essentially a fire rd. Skinned up that a bit and followed someone’s tracks up the hill. Snow was so deep, the deepest I have ever skinned, was challenging. It was only maybe 200’ of vert. Powder to my knees, managed to find one rock that almost knocked me down. Was very cautious after that. Not gonna count it as a ski day but pretty freaking fun! Pics make it look much flatter than it was. Should have taken one from the bottom Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Will take some pics when the sun comes up later. Absolutely dumping in Boulder. Took my dog for a very short walk and snow was just short of my knees. Doesn’t look like mountains getting a lot. Boulder and foothills seem to be the bullseye. I’m sure even if I could get to RMNP the gate would be closed. Their budget is not great these days.

Can’t really complain for November. The last storm didn’t bring much since it was pretty boney to begin with. But my friend and I had warm temps and sunshine, and of course the ever present park winds. Not bad in the trees but once you get back to the parking lot it’s always windy. Group coming up hot on our heels when we stopped to catch our breath. People really fly skinning up, hope that’s me someday. The sketchier or 2 creek crossings. Some guy flew past us and was quickly out of sight. Transitioning. None of my friends or myself are efficient at this yet. I want to try ripping off my skins with the skis still on, today was not the day. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I agree with this! My oldest was on a youth football team for one season and it definitely interfered with ski season. I told him the same thing you did, that was the end of the experiment and next season would just be skiing.

You should cancel and just get an Ikon if you are planning to come to CO in the spring. Full Ikon gives 7 days at JH then you can use up to 7 days at Abasin and unlimited at WP and Copper. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Wow what a fun dad you are! My first car was my dad’s old 1978 Mercury Zephyr station wagon. 😒

That Jeep Grand Cherokee is the same one (and same color) my husband has. I don’t think our is 75th anniversary edition but they are so nice. Whenever I take a road trip with my friends I always use his car. Those heated seats in the back are great. I got a Jeep too recently, but more for summer Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Had a late morning PT appt so couldn’t get up to Eldora for opening as I usually do. The canyon has been under construction for a long while and is supposed to continue until next summer. Mon-Thurs full closure 10-2. Friday’s it’s open so I didn’t think anything about delays. 4 different flag men stops and it took me an extra 40 min to get there. Snow was in bad shape lots of wind and no additional snow had the trails that were opened all scoured and ice. Ended up only doing 4 runs since it was so crappy. I am almost sorry I got the Ikon Pass since I mostly got it for Eldora. But dealing with that canyon construction is a real pain in the ass. Once Mary Jane opens I may start going up there more since it would only take an extra 30 min from my new Eldora commute time. Looks dry here for a while. We need a freshening up of snow. Monarch Mountain opened today with 22 trails. They have zero snow making its all natural. Impressive since usually mountains open with one T2B trail. They used to have a deal if you showed your CO season pass you could get a $40 lift ticket but now that everything is Epikonic I think that stopped.

We planned on a later start so the temps could warm up. Was 13 in Boulder this morning. Inversion because by the time we got to Estes around 10:30 it was 35 degrees. The wind was whipping around and we were dreading booting up. But the temp was warm so it wasn’t bad. We usually take the trail at the end, lookers right (marked in red), but it was very wind scoured so we veered left at the fork (marked in green). That had more coverage but it’s a very narrow trail. The sections of powder I found to try and play in were crusted over and not very fun. Not too many pictures, we only skinned up a mile and came back down. I was huffing and puffing and could tell the drop in my cardio, gotta work on that. The snow we did have was iced over and fast! I could have used an easier first day back on the snow but it was good to get out. Eldora opens tomorrow and will be a shit show. I am gonna keep an eye on the webcams and may head up for an hour or two late afternoon. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Good to know. But since I only have a limited number of days there I would rather save them for late season than early season.

I have Epic and Ikon so, yes, I could go to Keystone. But my friend only has Ikon and Abasin only has one run open.

Plans set, heading up to RMNP for my first ski day of the season tomorrow. So freaking psyched!!! My legs and cardio are garbage right now from being out of commission for 6 weeks w the boot. Should be an interesting skin up. Will most certainly post a TR. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
