  1. i just broke down and made my first off season purchase. salomon spx 45 snowboard bindings
  2. if i want spring skiing and i am paying for a ticket ill pay for gas and get a legit mountain not bb or cb (although with cb being free it is a toss up)
  3. ski patrol does need to calm down, i don't know anything about the park, and the season really wasn't that much shorter than other mountains and it is a smart business move for them to close down after they aren't going to sell any more passes. realistically anyone who wants spring skiing is going to travel to NY or VT
  4. it is the tallest in the area and has great lift service...

  8. This year fro spring Break i decided to visit Glenn in winter park Co. I flew from Philadelphia to Denver on frontier airlines. the flight out was relatively empty and quiet, arriving in Denver at 11:00 local time we went to Casa Bonita for lunch and a show. That restaurant is clearly a necessary part of the full Colorado experience. We arrived at the winter park base area around 3:00 and received a ride in a snowmobile to get my gear up to the mid mountain lodge which i was staying at. Later that night Nick Malozzi showed up and a night of fun and games had begun. The next day Sunday we rode Winter Park the conditions on the trails was hard pack so we head to the trees near Belle Fourche for some softer snow. after lunch we sent made some snakes through the beginner mini park. On Monday Glenn Tania and I head to Berthood Pass for a little bite of back country skiing, unfortunately after we dug a test pit we found that their was a layer of sun backed snow about 4 inches deep that was extremely unstable. so we choose to stick to a route that was well packed down and lees likely to slide. the next two days we skied Winter Park/ Mary Jane ripping down groomers and hiking out to the Vasquez ridge. on Thursday Lindsy, Glenn, and i headed to Steam Boat Springs which was a lot of fun with temps in the mid 40s and Mashed Potatoes for snow. the trails were bumped and lots of scoopers on the sides. after skiing we headed in to the town of steamboat for some dinner, and while in town i purchased some boot dryers. After dinner i drove the group to the local hot springs (clothes optional after dark) the water was really hot and relaxing. after being in the water for about half an hour a group of guys headed down the steps into the neighboring stream with temps around 35 degrees and snow on the shore. after getting ankle deep they all headed back to the hot spring water, and Lindsy Glenn and I all knew we had to show them how to suck it up and get in the cold water. we all got into the stream and swam for about 20 sec before the cold became unbareable and we went back to the hot spring water. On Friday we did one last trip thought the Vasquez ridge than i packed all my bear and flew home on Saturday. all of the frontier flights from Denver were over booked and frontier was offering $400 in air travel for anyone willing to give up their ticket as well as lodging and food in Denver until Tuesday. I almost gave up my ticket but decided that missing a midterm on Monday was a bad idea. {Left} Nick Malozzi, Lindsy, Glenn, ME {Right} Belle Fourche Trees Glenn riding down to the base area Monday The small hill we made laps on. Pitch Approx. 38 degrees Tania on left Glenn on right Glenn and Tania Hiking back up the famed Chimney Rock Glenn at Steamboat (lots of Cranes) Glenn Hucking over a bear spot on the trail @ Steamboat Lindsy killing it @ Steamboat Lots of Safety meetings {left} Glenn, Lindsy, Collin {right} hiking the Vasquez Cirque Glenn about to drop in Collin charging down the head wall Some light snow showers as i was packing
  9. i don't think you at blue who think PASR is a joke realize how much we on PASR don't give a FUCK. if you don't like what we have to say than don't read it! Oh and have fun saying goodbye to your job when people realize that they can vacation at other resorts without the harassment of ski patrol. i would like to mention that at winter park this past week i was thanked by a ski patrol for skiing fast and clearing a hole though a crowd of noobs on the trail.
  10. its nice to see snow again, blue's trails are starting their spring diet.
  11. i really wish i could be at blue on Sunday to see that jacket first hand.
  12. i love it... its a PASR uniform. i want to order the PASR warm up suit with the complimentary head and wrist bands.
  13. i may be at blue 11-4 ish... maybe
  14. i think that face mask, bicycle helmets, and Bleached Jeans are mandatory ...
  15. R2 i don't think SP will be messing around with an astronaut or cosmonaut or any other naught. and if you do get stopped just speak an alien language and they will surly leave you alone. wait till im back form CO
  16. i dont feel the need to publicly embarrass specific ski patrollers. i think it would be more effective to simply create a stereotype of blue mountain ski patroller that management does not approve of. causing a drastic change in the way that ski patrollers are told to interact with the customer.
  17. What did you say in you Blue mountain Season pass Review. i was harassed on several occasions by ski patrol for "fast skiing" down a trail other than paradise or Burma road which are marked as slow skiing trail. i would also like to note that i was in complete control in all occasions and was CARVING the trail not sliding. also several ski patrollers do not wear helmets which is setting a bad example to guest who are new to ski and impressionable youth. i would also like to point out that slow skiing is a perception or an opinion. what is super fast for one person is just cruising for another. i have been snowboarding over 7 years and for the past five had a season past for camelback. never once at camel back or the dozens of other mountains i have visited in the PA, NY area have i been harassed by ski patrol or any other mountain representative for skiing fast. although i enjoyed the VIP line and the high speed six person lift . being harassed when i have paid hundreds of dollars to enjoy my self is reason enough for me not to be a returning blue mountain season pass holder next season. hopefully blue mountain ski patrol will learn that no one finds getting a ticket fun.
  18. temp specific wax is the way to go as long as you are willing to re wax whenever the temp changes. i think it makes a huge difference on my snowboard. edit: i use ch6, ch8, ch10 depending on the temp.
  19. i buy swix ch hydrocarbon wax form reliableracing.com 800 grams at a shot.
