  1. Wait, are you saying that you didn't love the vintage Nike??? That will never die. For the record, the Mondrian Nike Tracksuit has been in my family since circa 1980. It actually has matching track pants, and I've actually worn them to the gym before!
  2. Me and Sarah will be there. Mid-morning to late afternoonish. Look for us. BTW, I usually wear a lilac spyder jacket.
  3. Okay, time now for my better, fuller report. Pulled into the lower lot around ??. Parked next to Schif/Mike. We booted up together. I drank a pre-skiing beer, mostly to make myself feel better about getting pulled over on the way to Blue. Then we went to the upper lodge to get our $10 tickets. After that, we took the 6-pack up, which was SO FAST! It was seriously almost like being at the amusement park (remember, Sno does not have HS lifts). Mike and I skiied Lazy Mile and Challenge, and at some point had another beer on the lift, then met up with Sarah (my friend), and then we all went to the parking lot, where we met up with everyone else. After some drinking/talking, we did more skiing. On one run, we did Paradise, and I did, in fact, pass Doug. It was quite exciting!!! Let's see, I wanted to do the boarder cross, so like, we went down this one run, and then got down to the terrain park thing by the 6-pack, and I was all, ummm where is the boarder cross? And someone was like, oh, we just did it. The boarder cross at Blue is just like a few banked turns (or whatever you want to call them). If you are into boarder cross, you should come to Sno b/c Sno has this huge awesome course set up, fyi. Hmmm, what else to add. We went through the terrain park a few times to get to the 6-pack and I tried that half-pipe there a few times. It was interesting. I wasn't entirely sure what to do, but it was good to try it. Then we did some more drinking (this happened like every hour). Then we skiied some more. On one lift ride, Doug and I kind of had a chugging contest, and technically I won, but I don't think he was seriously competing. It was hard to chug the beer because it was ice-cold. I prefer warm beer for chugging. Let's see, time to highlight the crashes! First time I fell was because Doug cut me off, and I had no where to go but into the orange webbed fence. It wasn't a big deal, except for the fact that my ski kind of got stuck in the webbing. Thankfully, Jonathan (Sno Skier) helped me get out, while Schif/Mike, Sarah, and Bob all watched and laughed. It provided a good 5 minutes of laughter I think! I'm a good sport though, and I even took my goggles off and smiled (while stuck in the fence) for a picture. The second fall was my fault. We were on some easy run, but I just hit a pile of stuff, and I guess I just fell. I started having trouble with the snow later on in the day b/c it was so soft and there were piles, and my boots are all packed out and SO LOOSE that my ankles and feet were being sloshed around. I had a ton of fun with everyone, and I really, really hope that we can do another PASR day before the season is over. EVERYONE is allowed to laugh at me in the fence! It was a quality time! Thank goodness I had you guys for moral support, haha. What is so funny about the fence incident is that I have been too scared to do White Lightning at Sno, b/c I am scared I will ski into the fence. Also, please note my VINTAGE Nike Mondrian-inspired jacket.
  4. Thankfully, I have better things to worry about than being embarassed:)
  5. Seriously. I had to drive home. I did, however, chug my beer on the lift faster than Doug, despite the beer's freezing cold temperature!!!
  6. We had an awesome time. I fell twice. Once because Doug cut me off (there will be a pic of this to come--I got stuck in the net--seriously--and certain people INSISTED upon taking a pic of me) and once just because I'm an idiot and sometimes I fall. Conditions were great to start, but got super soupy--when it gets like that, I don't quite enjoy skiing as much. Also, before I run off to get all my stuff done, I'd just like to say that neither of my falls were alcohol related!
  7. BTW guys, I tried really hard to send you over a pitcher of beer in honor of your hard work this season, however I was unable to because I could not find a waitress. Next year...
  8. Well, it never hurts to be prepared. Remember to store all beer out of plain view, in your trunk. Also, have a non-clear trash bag to put the empties, and throw it out before you start driving (or have in trunk). I have no idea what the law is in Pennsylvania regarding open containers, but I have a friend who got cited for "open container" for having an empty in the back seat of his car that had a couple drops of liquid in it.
  9. I've got 24 cans of Miller Lite. I'll have 22 leftover for you (or anyone) to have. Bring some food! Donuts? Cold pizza? Where did you hear this information??
  10. Awesome. I've got a blue saab hatchback. I've also got a case of Miller Lite. Liquor store up here let me down with Sofia Oh well. Thankfully I'll have my monogrammed coozie so I can be 100% classy. I'll look out for you guys!!
  11. Awesome. I'll be having two wardrobe changes throughout the day, due to my ebay shipping mishap. First up will be a marshmellowy very early 80s (I think) cream, navy, periwinkle, and raspberry ski jacket, worn with aviators and matching periwinkle headband. Second up (when it gets warmer) will be a vintage Nike Mondrian jacket, worn with 80s Faux-Bans (or goggles, if I feel like using goggles)

  13. I did parts of it (everything but the jumps), and it was a ton of fun! It isn't even that hard. My friend who was out snowboarding for the fourth time in his life did the whole course, including the jumps. Ohhh Ohhh, at the PASR day at Sno, we could have SBX races!! I'd be happy to reprise my role as starter girl...
  14. I apparently have done a shoddy job creating the logistics thread. Let's just say the TOP of the 6-pack (in case the lines to the 6-pack are long). I don't want to be in someone's way who is trying to get in line. If you can get there at 7:15, then def. meet in the bottom parking lot. That would be a stretch for me:)
  15. Who 1. Schifdawg (Mike) 2. Melissa (Melissa) 3. GrilledSteezeSandwich(Doug) 4. Sexkitten (Leslie) 5. Boblikescats (Bob) 6. snoskier (Jon) 7. Angry Hugo (Mike) 8. Matt (Matt) 9. Justin 10. Nitro8604 (Matt) 11. Mbike-ski (mbike) 12. YOU! When Saturday (tomorrow), all day. To meet up with PASRs, meet at the base of the 6-pack at 9:00 a.m. What Retro Ski Day at Blue Mountain!! Dress retroly, and enjoy a full-day lift ticket for only $10! Where Blue Mountain. Specifically, purchase $10 tickets at the Group Sales Office, at the Summit Lodge. Parking lot pimping to occur at the bottom parking lot (or so I'm told--> anyone care to comment on this?) Why To celebrate Blue Mountain's anniversary, or something like that. How How? Good question. Um, find a retro outfit, buy alcohol, drive to Blue, meet at base of 6-pack at 9:00 a.m. Question for Blue regulars: It appears that much drinking will occur in the base parking lot. Would it be possible to purchase the lift ticket up at the Summit Lodge, and then drive back down to the base lodge, in order to have beverages there? Please advise. Go big or go home!!
  16. Point taken. Forgot where you were.
  17. Are you calling us uncool?? Come on already and join us tomorrow. I have to go to the Salvation Army after work today anyways... I can pick you up something awesome to wear.
  18. I am thinking a def. PASR Day at Sno in April...
  19. Thanks SK. We can barter champagne for 80s jackets. I still cannot believe that my awesome purchases are in Richmond. I am really busy at work, but I might have to try to duck out a little early to get to the Salvation Army to see what they have left. Looking forward to tomorrow!
  20. YAY! I did not see Dennis Carlson there last night, or else I would have bought him a drink and discussed this a bit.
  21. Hahahah, I did crash on the first run. Not a bad crash, in fact, I am kind of curious what my time was crashing, getting up, and then skiing the rest of the gates. Going fast is easy on a regular run, but slightly more tricky around things. Also, I did not get my time on the second run, what was? I don't think I smoked anyone, but I'd be curious to see if I improved since the first time that I did nastar! Ski - No problem about the lap dance, but next time, please remember that NO ONE uses singles anymore. At least fives, okay? Brian, I am really, really sorry that I didn't get to meet you! I was wondering where you were/which one you were. Sorry we did not get to meet:( Perhaps on the hill sometime!
  22. Um, minor freak out. I went to track one of my 80s jackets (b/c it did not arrive today), and well, I see it was delivered. To RICHMOND! AH! Apparently when I updated my address in ebay, it only updated my billing address. I cannot believe this. I have two jackets, at my old apt in Richmond. Great. Okay, guess it's time for a trip to Salvation Army after work tomorrow. Thankfully I saw a couple of cool jackets there that would totally do. I cannot believe that I will now own 3 retro jackets. Great.
  23. Wow. I'm starting to get insecure about my outfit. I've got the 80s jacket, tight pants (bootcut, can't help it), headband, 80s Ray-Bans. What else could I add? I will be so disappointed if I look like a regular skiier.
  24. Right now, my plan is to bring a 4-pack of chamagne (cans) and then a 6-pack of Miller Lite, cans, and if no 6-pack cans to be found, then maybe like the 18-pack or something. My biggest problem is how to store. I guess I will find a fanny pack? Maybe my cool new 80s jackets will have nifty pockets. I am having an internal conflict as to whether I ought to use the hyphen between "xx" and "pack." Sigh.
