  1. Crap, tomorrow is the last day to get the "discounted" pass. Must do it now before I forget...
  2. I am excited b/c I just found out that one of the new people at work will get a season pass, so I'll have someone to ski with! Another guy is considering it, too, but he doesn't have his skis in PA and needs to get new ones anyways. Yay!
  3. I will def. buy the unlimited, though I hope I don't waste my money. Last year I had a friend who also got an unlimited pass, and we'd ski together, but she has moved. As of right now, none of my other friends are getting passes. I really hope that doesn't diminish the time that I spend skiing this year! If anyone has any information about the pipe, I'd love to hear it. I certainly do not intend to use it, but I'm just curious. I thought the original plan was to put it in my by the lodge. I remember reading something about that on the website, and I remember thinking that it would be cool to be able to sit on the deck and watch people go through it. As for grooming--I've never had a problem with Sno's grooming. I think they normally groom in the morning. Most days in the evening, the grooming is just fine. The only time that I have a problem with it is when it warms up during the day, and then refreezes when it gets dark--then it can get icy and yucky. But that really doesn't have anything to do with grooming. Okay, back to work...
  4. I think I'll get the unlimited again because, although I go in the evening a lot, I def. want the option of going on the weekends.
  5. I've been to Lynchburg, and know people from there (Lynchburg) and also one guy who went there (Liberty). It is as weird as you'd think. All the religiousity isn't for show--that is the way it is there! I wish I could remember some of the crazier examples of stuff that went on there, but I forget. Sorry:(
  6. So, this is um kind of interesting. I've been to Lynchburg--it's boring, and I could barely get cell service. I hope this activity will keep the kids from doing crazy things like dancing and playing co-ed twister. Wintergreen is like not even an hour away though, so, well, I think if it were me, I'd much rather drive there to ski.
  7. I did a ton of research this past winter regarding fitting boots. Every shop/bootfitter I spoke with recommended fitting the foot first, and then worrying about flex later (as long as it isn't a rental/recreational boot).

    Hey Ladies

  9. Sib, I just saw this message now. Thank you so much for posting this information. I plan to pack normal summer clothes, but also throw in some jackets/blazers to wear a night when it gets chilly. I will be on the look-out for your friend Anne. I am sure that I will run into her because we are doing the rehersal dinner at the restaurant there Friday night, and then of course the wedding on Saturday. Can't wait for the scenery!!
  10. Also, I called him out on the weather in India a while ago.
  11. Check with area schools that have astroturf and find out if they are returfing. They just throw the old stuff out. I have no idea how often astroturf is replaced though, so you might not have much luck.
  12. Yeah this is def. weird. I thought that Sno Cove would be a priority b/c it seems like a waterpark is a total cash cow. Obviously, they have control over internal operations and to some extent their contractors, so the only thing that I can think of extra-organizational is the municipality/government permitting and inspections and stuff. Though, I'm not sure what that could be either.
  13. Wow, really? Maybe it was the leaves on the trees that made the snow look like it had disappeared? I only saw from 81, so maybe that is it. Too funny.
  14. Had occasion to go to the Shoppes at Montage (they suck) today. There was a little pile of snow where the one jump was, and then some snow where the walls of the half-pipe were. North Face was mostly grass. Very sad. Looked odd without snow on it!
  15. Drove by on 81 yesterday. Not a lot left of the pipe:( (comparatively) Don't know how long it will last--hard to judge how much is left when you see it from 81.
  16. Omg, no, penguins are SO CUTE!! And, I just thought up an excellent idea. Sno needs penguins.
  17. I prefer the South Pole b/c it has penguins. I like the subject matter of this POLL. My favorite trail is Cannonball for some reason, but since that was not an option, I voted for Boomer. My priorities for Sno, in no particular order, are: (1) new website with frequent updates AND an email mailing list of stuff that is going on; (2) a high-speed lift; and (3) more top-to-bottom runs (the feasibility of this I do not know, but I do wish there were more options here). Oh, and the EMPLOYEES NEED CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING. Nothing ruins a trip experience more than rude and/or unhelpful employees.
  18. Wow, what's with all the anti-semitism lately? No offense.
  19. Sorry for hijacking your thread with my lame attempt at an April Fools Day joke!! Maybe try Craigslist?
  20. Yeah, this was my version of April Fools:) And that pic was very appropriate, good work.
  21. Can this be hooked up to stream live on the internet? I need to upgrade my current video camera.
  22. Geez, Phillycore, I need to take lessons on how to be frugal from you!!! I admire your self-control.
  23. What is a banquet meal? Is that like a Lean Cuisine or Healthy Choice?
  24. Ski, did you (or anyone else that was there) notice the Tawny Kitaen wanna-bes in front of the speakers? I was getting a kick out of them singing along and dancing to the 80s hair-band music in their mommy jeans. I hope someone shoots me if I turn out like them.
