  4. Wow just Wow....That sorta sounds like you've reconsidered skiing DSV....🎿🎿
  5. Here's my plan. Hopefully I'll meet everyone at approximately the same time upon their arrival at the lower parking lot. I'll then escort them to a Semi-Secret Location (SSL) adjacent to the upper parking lot. At the SSL we'll claim a couple of picnic tables and you'll be able to relieve your aching bladders etc. from the long drive to Deep South Vermont (DSV). From the SSL you'll be able to gear up in warm comfort and begin your adventure on the slopes of DSV. The SSL is a ski-in/ski-out location. Depending on the size of our group, I will provide 4-6 racks of smoked baby back ribs, 1-2 quarts of baked beans (ammo for the ride home), 1-2 quarts of macaroni salad, paper plates, utensils etc. If you don't think that will be enough meat products, you're welcome to bring additional and there is an open fire pit where it can be grilled at the SSL. Please provide your own liquid libations and any other items of merriment you wish. Since it seems you are talking about morning tickets, I will plan on lunch at 1:00 p.m. When you are ready to go home, if any would like to take a brief tour of TLCITW I'll be happy to be your guide. Enjoy! Enjoy! the Great Outdoors of DSV.....
  6. If you start at 8:30 and ski until 12:30, you'll have no problem doing 15 - 20 runs. 20+ runs if it's as uncrowded as I'm hoping it will be. Eat ribs around 1:00 then.... Now I know when to light the πŸ”₯..
  7. They do have "college Wednesday s" $25 all day with college ID. Tuesday senior citizens day $25 all day.
  8. Oh Yeah, smoked on an Orion..... Was that you Moe, who introduced me to the Orion Ribs many years ago?
  9. Don't you feel an illness coming on?

    Elk day vote

Thanks for your concern. We've been dealing with this since Sept 2016, and have been through a lot. Thankfully things are going well and this is follow up testing, but necessary and can't be changed. I've changed my appointment so I'm good to go for Friday...

    Elk day vote

On Boy, I just learned of a family medical situation that prevents me from being available on Thursday 2/7/19.. I have to be in Philadelphia at the Jefferson Hospital. I will make sure I'm at Elk on Friday 2/8/19. I voted the 8th.... and that makes it 50/50....
  12. Geez Guys that's the West slope... Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  13. Tuesday 1:30. With two buses present. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  14. Thursday would probably be less "crowded". But whatever works is fine with me.

    Rummys Birthday Update

Sorry to say I won't make it this weekend. 1 2" -18" of true perder..... Thanks for the wishes.
  17. Any midweek day should be fine. Usually Fridays are the busiest of them, but still no trouble. I've got a doctor's appointment for the 8th, but I'll change it if that's the day that is chosen. I'll show you the "half-way" house where you'd be able to all get together inside the original lodge and set up your "parking lot" festivities in warmth by a fire (ski-in/ski-out). Hell I'll even smoke some ribs for the crew. Should be fun....

    Rummys Birthday Update

Yes, headed to Sibhusky country. Our first trip to Whitefish the first week in March.
  20. The conditions at Elk are Fantastic. 10 trails open from the top, 2 more will open for the weekend probably. Both parks are now open and the surface tow is open in the big park. Groomed packed powder on all slopes. Upper Tunk is now groomed after about a week of being allowed to bump up. Temps were a brisk 18* up top when we started yesterday, but no wind and breaking sunshine for a "10" day. As usual on weekdays there were no crowds. I only saw one bus this whole season during the days. I imagine there were more school groups during the evening sessions. I haven't skied weekends so no comment on buses then, although overall weekend crowds have been reported as light. The Yukon Jack's were smooth sipping and the beer was cold... Just Another Season in Paradise!!

    TR 1/2/19

On mountain at 9:45. No crowds and temp of 28*. Guns blowing on Tuscarora and Whissahican. (They were blowing all night since about 9:00 pm New Years day). The guns were stopped when we left at 2:30pm. Skied all the open runs, except bunny slope and little foot terrain park. Conditions much better than expected. Mainly granular with no cookies or mashed potatoes. All trails were groomed. Upper Tunk had some firm, almost icy spots, skiers left, and the sketchiest, but still not terrible, conditions on entire mountain. Delaware had packed powder surface on upper mountain sections turning more granular toward bottom of trail. A couple of new things this year. Free Wi-Fi is finally available in the lodge, and credit cards are finally taken at the bar. Elk lost a lot of base since before Christmas, but is still in excellent condition all things considered. And .... The Beer is Cold.... Even though the prices increased. 😒😒
