    18/19 Season Update

Season Pass prices remain the same for the third season in a row. Early buy (before 10/8/18) Adults. $795. Old Pharts (65+) $695. See website for other prices.... www.elkskier.com Improvements this summer: Planted 600 trees.... Extensive new drainage on mountain.... New Pisten Bully.... New snowmaking pond..... New pump for snowmaking.... patched parking lot??... AND New Website Design...
  3. Elk supposedly is updating their website and planted 600 trees...
  4. I use a tank sprayer and liquid fertilizer and weed killer. Cleanup is easy. Rinse out the tank. In my neck of the woods there weren't any lawn care companies until the last 10 years or so, and I bought the equipment before then.
  5. LOL..... You questioning about thread drift.....
  6. I have almost 2acres at my home and 1+ at my business property. Takes about 2 hours 45 minutes to mow. I had a zero turn 60" Gravely that almost killed me , and sold it. There is a portion of my yard where it is just too sloped and I lost all ability to steer and would have rolled over a 15' bank to a roadway, if not for a tree stopping me. Thing is I mowed the same area many times carefully with no problem but it only takes one time. Another almost disaster occurred when one of the drive wheel hydraulic pumps failed while on a hill and I lost control. I wasn't going to take a third chance.....
  7. Oh yea, Big John Deere 60" deck, front end loader etc. I put a snow blower and chains, weights, and cab. I take it to Elk to keep driveway open in winter.
  8. Mowing grass gets "Old" by this time of the year, especially after this rainy summer.... 3+ acres every 5 or so days. Why did I ever fertilize?.....
  9. What did Warren Miller say? Something like "you'll only be a year older if you don't". Go to Summit County, Tahoe area or Utah and you'll be able to cross several off your list in one triip. It's really getting more expensive every year. We're glad we started going West 30 years ago.... Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

  12. We've had 16+ inches of rain in Western Schuylkill County since Saturday. Flooding everywhere, bridges out, mudslides, roads buckled from runoff, flash flooding, whole towns evacuated. Terrible......

  17. Our boy scout camp was called "Mamanawatum" (an Algonquin Indian name). We always called it "momma no want us".

    Elk - 3/15/18

Today was the best conditions all season for tree skiing. It took 3 NEsters to get that coverage. It's actually the best coverage in years. Several years ago an employee was killed while boarding in the trees. For this reason, Safety, Elk restricts skiing off trails. Personally I think there are only so many days at Elk where trees can be skied safely. Surely Elk could spend a ton of $$ to clear glades, and run lines to blow snow. They choose not to do that. Glad you had a good time! It sure was empty today, the beer was cold, and I got a sunburn.... Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  24. You're gonna love it, they got more perder last night.... unreal conditions everywhere.
  25. Tuesday is senior citizen day, 65+ ticket = $25. Wednesday is College Students with ID, ticket = $25. Stop at the beer/pizza place at the convenience market/gas station at exit 204 off I81. MAYBE, (?) they have the coupons for $25 lift tickets for buying a case of Coors Light. That coupon is good on Wednesdays only. Beer distributors around Elk should have them too, but you have to buy a case unless you can "sweet talk" a clerk into giving you a freebie or two. Other than that and moms' idea, there maybe some available at ski shops...... call around.
