    Opening day 12/13/17

Temp at 8* when we started. Brisk 20+ mph winds. Triple layer player. On mountain at 10:15. About 30 season passholders and 30 ticket purchasers. Conditions were firm with decent cord, no cookies, and some blown powder. Skied all open trails (9) really only three from the top. Trails of the day we're upper Tunk and Susquehanna. Needless to say, No Lift Lines... Sun is now out. Beer is cold and tasty.
  2. Grrr totally agree... Just stepped outside TLCITW and the temperature is 6* with a Biting Wind. We'll wait until double digits before our first tracks of the season today. BTW 2" fresh. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

I still own a retail store, now my great staff is running it, but I check the books regularly. [emoji16] Also I eliminated one of my departments and that allowed me to cut back. Plus I saw too many friends and employees die suddenly or slowly, and I said....F it and retired. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

They've been there a long time. Seriously, if anybody is in the area and wants a tour (and a beer). I'll be happy to show you. I can usually be found at the first seat of the bar at the line to enter the restaurant. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

I'm Retired so anytime that works for the majority is ok with me. If it's like prior years, make the date a Wednesday in January or February, and I should be able to get coupons for $25. lift tickets. (going to NH early Jan, so not then) Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

It's easier going down that stairway facing forward and putting your hands on the wall in front of you. This also shows when the interior walls change from mahogany to knotty pine, between the second and third levels. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

  22. Avoid the holiday weekends and lines aren't too long. We're spoiled skiing mid week so 5-10 minute waits are too long. Sunday's are always less crowded than Saturdays, especially Sunday afternoons. Seems most people buy only a morning ticket on Sundays. If you want a real treat, come midweek and you'll feel like you own the mountain. Also night skiing is empty but the lighted trails are limited. Like Blue, the race teams and various organised races put Slalom off limits ( one of Elks black diamonds) on most weekends. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  23. At Elk we can usually get 10 runs in before the lines get too long, around 10:30 on weekends. But, that's ok we'll take another run and be in line for the bar opening at 11:00 ;-) If conditions are really good we'll go back out around 12:15 for a few more runs until the lunch break crowds come back out, about 1:30----- then it's boots off and back to our reserved seats at the bar.
  24. We do a round trip run in about 11 minutes, so depending on the lift, I'll say about 7-8 minutes on average. 3-4 minutes a run. (Give or take a minute)
  25. With Elks lifts he probably finished those 60th b-day runs just after turning 61. Well you had me chuckling, but midweek you can get 5 1/2 runs per hour. So, he theoretically can get his 60 runs in between 8:00 am and 7:00 pm but he does stop into lodge for a beer a couple times throughout the day.
