I was waiting for the RideDE commentary. It did not disappoint.

Politics aside I saw him live in 2016 as I had a chance to go both times so I took advantage of it. Not saying I agreed with everything. Mainly wanted to experience it. It's definitely different being there. Saw John McCain and Sarah Palin in 2008 too. Again politics aside, Sarah Palin (love her or hate her) was pretty hot. That said the Tulsa rally is a stupid move in my opinion. It's not the time.

I think the family that owns elk may have been trying to off load it for some time. Regarding ski and stay, they'd have to provide transportation in order to make that work IMO. Perhaps a shuttle or a ski bus (or busses) that run every few hours or so. But, to your point, it's a fairly long drive.

Kalahari purchasing it has me thinking that there's a plan to turn Elk into a Camelback like circus. Unless they plan on a "swim and ski" type packages to maybe that pull some of Camelbacks business? Only problem is Elk is about 50 minutes away. Like Dan said....interesting. We'll see I guess.

Next closest (according to the true up vert on mountainvertical.com) is sugarbush at 2552 feet (36 overall...WF is 15). Killington true up vert is 1645. I know there's more to it than vert but interesting none the less. I can't wait to blast down Upper skyward, to Victoria, to base this winter.

Brighton is a perfect example of how vertical feet is meaningless out west. You see 1700 vert and think it's small but it's far from that. Place feels massive.

38 bucks a day in the cottonwoods is a score and good call pass holders preference thing if there's social distancing or limited ticket sales going on. I'm jelly. Enjoy.

Nice move. How many ski days total are you looking at? For that price seems like a no brainer. I'd happily ski a bunch of days at Brighton with a day at Bird.
