Great trip. In our 3 ski days, we seemed to have had it all...fresh, bluebird and an insanely good Brazilian steakhouse where people walked by just put piles of meat on my plate at will! I <3 Utah. A few more pics including an epic cliff jump by Dan.

So you avoid areas with snowboarders? Who does that?
-
Nope. Although I almost jacked myself up pretty good at Snowbird yesterday on a traverse called "scary corner". I had no idea that I needed speed to get over a hump on the traverse. I slowed down and ended up getting myself into a bind. Remained upright though. Won't forget next time around.

Great day today to cap off the trip. Spent the latter half of the day skiing Mt. Millicent...the bowl, trees, etc. We made our way to an out of bounds area off of the traverse. Shit was spicy in there but the snow was pretty good. Only way out was hopping off a cliff or a really tight squeeze between two rock ledges. We chose the latter. Dan skied it like he does it every fucking day then starts yelling at me to point them and go. haha. Capped it off with a few groomer runs off of crest and called it a day around 4pm. Blue bird and sun all day long which is not what was forecasted but no one is complaining. Some sun baked crud in spots but still some decent stuff in the trees. Conditions were nothing like Monday or yesterday morning but it was so nice to see the sun. Brighton is a great place. Glad I could spend a little time there this go around (missed skiing it the last few times here). Will definitely be back.

The milly lift is being a complete asshole today. Since we're sitting here might as well share our view with you all

Great day so far. Spent most of the day skiing off of Great Western. We found a ton of really deep stuff in the OB area off of Great Western lift. Dan ended up on someone's driveway. I found myself climbing uphill. Lots of good, untracked stuff in the trees (and even some right in plain sight) pretty much every where. Not crazy soft but still really good. Good day for sure.

Looking like a bluebird day on tap

Brighton is reporting 7, solitude 3. Bird /Alta virtually nothing. Back to Brighton today!

Way to compare apples to apples. Elk in no way skis bigger than Blue. And why is it "cheesy" that they made the vert longer to claim highest in PA? Because you said so? Doug keep your Blue Mountain history facts coming.

A few more from today.

Ever. All Time. In the History of the World. However you want to say it, he's it. Granted I'm a Pats fan and probably not the best person to debate this but others tend to agree... Troy Aikman "I think unequivocally, at least in my mind, Tom Brady is the greatest. And I'm proud to be able to say that, and I know that most everyone will agree with that." Brett Favre "I think if Tom wins this game, and I never thought I’d say this, he surpasses Joe Montana as the greatest ever," says Favre. " He's what Gretzky is to Hockey and Jordan is to Basketball in my mind.

Ugh. Didn't see this although I'm pretty sure we did this or something similar in the morning. All of the best stuff seemed to be along the ropes.

No chains although chains or AWD were required to get into the Cottonwoods. Storm was a bust in that it didn't snow much during the day. That said, some people were saying that a foot fell overnight which makes sense since scored some pretty sick runs in the am...powder, float, people wooo-hooo'ing etc.. Those didn't last very long however since they closed little cloud, the tram, mineral basin (I don't think they ever dropped the rope there). After 3 or so hours in the Gad Valley, we ate then headed to the Peruvian Gulch area and skied there until around 3:30. Did a lot of traversing and found some nice turns although nothing equivalent to what we got in the morning (Dan snapped a few good pics). Bell to bell, Brighton was better condition wise yesterday but the am runs today were so good, unfortunately that didn't last very long and because of the wind we couldn't ski the best of the bird. Not complaining...still a good day. We were kicking around the idea of powder mt tomorrow but they were closed today and apparently also tomorrow because of wind and avalanche danger. Also kicked around the Canyons but looking like Solitude. We shall see.

The cirque is great unfortunately it doesn't appear to be in the cards today since all lifts to the top are closed

Enjoying lunch at mid gad currently. We made 2nd tram this morning. Hidden peak at 11k feet was complete vertigo with what was probably 70 mph winds. We literally skied blind to regulator Johnson for some really deep bottomless shit but we couldn't see it on the upper half of the run. Visibility got a bit better and Dan and I skied some straight poe to the little cloud lift. It was so good that you we braved the elements again. Next down regulator to the Gad Valley where we parked it ever since. We found some deep and untouched the first few runs but it quickly got tracked out. Whatever snow they were calling for today hasn't come but it definitely did dump overnight. The bad news... Wind gusts have reached 90mph and everything up top is closed (tram, little cloud, mineral basin etc). Still a good day. Off to Peruvian (unless they close that)

So far so good...

It's been all satellite radio. So far no U2 unfortunately.

Just arrived at the Bird. First off, the important stuff. We rocked out to Pearl Jam radio and a little Snoop D-O double G on 90's at 9. We enjoyed a nice hotel breakfast consisting of coffee, sausage, eggs and home fries. about an hour and 15 minutes early but didn't want to take any chances coming up the Canyon road. Ride was pretty uneventful. Roads got somewhat spicy right near the resort where it's snowing. The resort is saying 5 inches overnight with another 7 plus on tap for today. Today could be pretty sick as the sounds of Avy bombs are bouncing off the Canyon walls. Looking up at this monster I'm reminded why this place is my absolute favorite ski resort. This next hour is gonna last forever... Edit... Some dude is putting in sunscreen. Hahahahahaha

Dan has better one's. He's got the knack for capturing powder / action shots.

Brighton in the books. Great day. Snowbird tomorrow for what looks to be a serious powder day. Calling for upwards of a foot and a half between now and COB tomorrow. That's similar to the last time I skied Bird which was a sick day to say the least.
-
Great day today. Started at 9, just finishing up now. The amount of untracked, untouched powder that we found today I think took us by surprise. Boot to knee deep in spots especially off of Mt Millicent and the Great Western . more later

Bird tomorrow most likely. We were one of the first chairs at 9am.
