Here are a few pics from solitude so far. Arrived at 9. Lots of great snow. Looking like we'll close the place. Enjoy.
-
We did not actually. Only hiking we did was to Catherines. Next time for sure.

Solitude today!

A few pics. It was so nice out that we got more scenery shots. Here is the ballroom this morning, Dan in Catherines and some shots of the twins at snowbird

Great day today. Bluebird, sunshine. We made opening on the Collins lift around 9:15, immediately made our way over to the ballroom along with the masses. Luckily we were among the first in line so we found untracked lines. We made another run before it was officially tracked out. It was then over to wildcat and rustler After lunch we took the rope over to Sunnyside and sugarloaf. We headed skiers right to the supreme chair, took off the skis and hiked it over to Catherines. Rode sugarloaf a few more times, skied greeley then it was back down to the rope to Collins. Made our way up to high rustler 2 more times and threw a few speed runs in off of Collins to the base. Ended up closing the lift that we opened this morning. Great day. the snow was great but nothing like yesterday. People on the lift were still raving about conditions yesterday at snowbird. Alta closes the good stuff off until the storm is over so this morning was excellent. Dan has some pics that I think he'll post later.
-
Alta was an excellent choice today. They kept the good shit closed during the storm yesterday and finally dropped the ropes on it today so more freshies were had this morning as we hauled ass to the ballroom then to the wildcat area. Just took a run in west rustler before lunch. Few pics below.

I made the mistake of going skiing on a WMMR day once. I'll never make that mistake again.
-
little cottonwood canyon was the big winner yesterday. Snowbird is reporting 10 in the past 24 hours so we were in the right place yesterday. Alta is reporting 8. The plan was to ski solitude today but the plan has changed to Alta. Solly is reporting 2. So Alta it is.

Alright... We scored the second tram of the day. In the tram line Dan got hit on by a 75 year old woman from Stowe. In the tram some dude farted so that was the last time we ride it. We made it to the top of hidden peak and it was windy as hell and there was 0 visibility at 11k. We skied under the little cloud lift then to get lift a few times then figured that we would have better luck in the gad valley... That we did... Untouched all over the place and much easier to see. Hung out there till lunch then took the gad zoom over to big Emma and to the Peruvian lift. The best, deepest snow was in the gulch so we hung out there for a bit then hit the tunnel too mineral basin. The trees in Peruvian were sick. Basin was deep but had a weird later of crust underneath. Two runs later we hit decided to ski the cirque. It snowed all day and didn't stop. The storm produced more than they were calling for. Not to mention they got 2 feet over the weekend so it worked out. Great day 1 at snowbird.

It is waist deep in spots. Higher up in mineral basin, in the trees in Peruvian and in the cirque its waist deep. That picture was on chips run - a traverse. It never stopped snowing. By the way there's a ton of people from PA here.
-
Sitting in the cliff lodge. This may have been one of the, if not the best ski day of my life. I'll post more later. I'm beat. Dan took one more run. Waist deep in spots. UN f-in believable. Another pic below. Stay tuned though. Dan has some baller action shots.

Hidden peak was foggy as shit with 0 visibility so we hauled ass to the gad valley. Great decision. It's knee deep in spots and visibility is so much better.
-
Second tram. Everything is open. Snow is falling. Looking like it's strait to mineral basin.
-
4 inches at the bird so we're hoping that keeps the locals home. Another 2 to 4 forecasted by noon. Currently snowing in the valley.

Looks fuckin sweet. Can't wait till tomorrow. By the way, the people in phx (layover) are extremely trustworthy. Some lady just asked me to watch her phone for her while she went to the bathroom. So i babysat her phone for her. Layovers suck.

Definitely not rare to ski them. They're open a good majority of the the season due to the amount of blow over in there. They practically blow snow in happyland (challenge glade). As of Sunday, happyland was still OK, thin however the further you go in. T bolt glade was rock city. Elevator glade had a skiable path. One park glade was decent. Risk it was completely not skiable. Janes glade and the mad trees were thin. Unless we get a serious storm they probably wont blow again so they'll only get thinner at this point. We shall see.

Sitting in Newark. Bright sun in the cottonwoods today but another storm front is rolling in tonight looking drop another 7 to 10 into tomorrow morning. Hopefully we can get some nice powder shots for you all in mineral basin and the cirque.

Vinny you get around man. Nice job.

I'm starting to regret posting this shit up early. I was stoked to see the reports from the storm out there this morning so I started it. And its not better than the J hole thread. We haven't even left yet; how could it be? What's with the comparing / competing threads? I'm not out to make this better than anyone else's. I'm out to share some of our good time with PASR and that's it. We'll post pics, maybe some video and condition reports. If you like it great. If you don't I could give a rats ass. It's a trip report not a science fair project. Anyway Tuesday is looking like a Legit powder day. We'll most likely be at snowbird day 1.

Where are you skiing this weekend? (February 23-24)
