  1. Working at the Mountain is the way to go - especially if you have kids who love to ski.
  2. Phoenix. I used to like it a lot more out there.
  3. I spent a lot of the past summer in the desert where temps hit 118 - I need to see some snow. Plus it's after labor day, leaves are starting to turn, it's week one of the football season. I'm one big fat ball of cheer.
  4. Don't know about you but I gots me some skiing on my mind. I'll be at Frost once again this year with the occasional night sesh at Boulder and Blue. Will likely ski a day or two at CB at the end of the season. Also hoping to get back to Sno this season; sprinkle in the obligatory day trip to Elk and I have myself a fine PA itinerary. The plan also includes getting back out to my happy place (Little Cottonwood Canyon). What's everyone else doing this year?
  5. Not Jackson Hole or The Mangy Moose? I'm shocked and appalled.
  6. It's labor day. It's all down hill from here (pun intended).
  7. Isn't Elk pushing a grand? It's insane. The $200 deal isnt bad.
  8. These are from 2 days ago so I hope I'm not breaking the rules of the thread. LOL
  9. I have no idea why that pic is coming out sideways. I'm done trying to fix it.
  10. Superstition mountains Arizona We had a cool day to do some hiking.
  11. I feel like people who long for these types of places typically are East Coast skiers. Obviously I'm one but I could be wrong though. I guess I could care less about condos, who's sitting on the lift in front of me, a single chair or the resort's bottom line (actually I want all of them to make money). I just want a big, bad ass, mountain. Give me Squaw Valley or Snowbird over Alta or Powder Mt (although I love Alta and Powder.) WF over Magic etc. But that's just me. Just trying to figure out the allure of the Mom and Pop places over some of the bigger "mega" resorts. Anyway threadjack finished. Back to Jay Peak and their purchase of Burke. Edit - I will concede that Killington is not high on my list.
  12. Just curious. What does mountains with soul actually mean? Old lifts, trees, the vibe?
  13. They had to go there with Starscream's death at 2.09. They just HAD to freaking go there!!
  14. This is what it looked like in LA. Pretty cool. .
  15. As usual we get the shaft here in the East. The snow sucks, The Mountains suck (for the most part). The scenery isnt as nice while the west gets to see cool shit like the Northern Lights and solar eclipses. Utah ski resorts are actually opening up for the this so it should be cool. http://www.cnn.com/2....html?hpt=hp_t3
  16. Please make sure you're sitting down when you read this but yes. That is about what we got last winter. (GASP). And most of that came during one storm in October before any ski area was even open. Given that we average 50 to 70 in the higher elevations of the Poconos, snowmaking temps were margional for most of the seaon and an extremely warm March yeah I'd say it sucked. I live 10 minutes from JFBB and shoveled snow once...In October!. Thank you to the Wright Brothers for airplanes and thank you to Brigam Young for Utah.
  17. Describes me perfectly. Im bringing shiznit back and adding "izzle" to the end of nouns. Now off to listen to the theme song from "friends" as performed by the Rembrandts.
  18. And yes skittletinis are the shiznit. (Do people still say shiznit?)
  19. You stole my phone bastard.
