  1. It is waist deep in spots. Higher up in mineral basin, in the trees in Peruvian and in the cirque its waist deep. That picture was on chips run - a traverse. It never stopped snowing. By the way there's a ton of people from PA here.
  2. Sitting in the cliff lodge. This may have been one of the, if not the best ski day of my life. I'll post more later. I'm beat. Dan took one more run. Waist deep in spots. UN f-in believable. Another pic below. Stay tuned though. Dan has some baller action shots.
  3. Dan got some amazing pictures that he'll post later. Here's a few from my phone.
  4. Hidden peak was foggy as shit with 0 visibility so we hauled ass to the gad valley. Great decision. It's knee deep in spots and visibility is so much better.
  5. Second tram. Everything is open. Snow is falling. Looking like it's strait to mineral basin.
  6. 4 inches at the bird so we're hoping that keeps the locals home. Another 2 to 4 forecasted by noon. Currently snowing in the valley.
  7. Likewise man. Wish you here. Another picture for Stoke before the real pics tomorrow.
  8. Just for you here's a picture of an airplane and some desert mountains... Stoke.
  9. Looks fuckin sweet. Can't wait till tomorrow. By the way, the people in phx (layover) are extremely trustworthy. Some lady just asked me to watch her phone for her while she went to the bathroom. So i babysat her phone for her. Layovers suck.
  10. Definitely not rare to ski them. They're open a good majority of the the season due to the amount of blow over in there. They practically blow snow in happyland (challenge glade). As of Sunday, happyland was still OK, thin however the further you go in. T bolt glade was rock city. Elevator glade had a skiable path. One park glade was decent. Risk it was completely not skiable. Janes glade and the mad trees were thin. Unless we get a serious storm they probably wont blow again so they'll only get thinner at this point. We shall see.
  11. Sitting in Newark. Bright sun in the cottonwoods today but another storm front is rolling in tonight looking drop another 7 to 10 into tomorrow morning. Hopefully we can get some nice powder shots for you all in mineral basin and the cirque.
  12. Vinny you get around man. Nice job.
  13. I'm starting to regret posting this shit up early. I was stoked to see the reports from the storm out there this morning so I started it. And its not better than the J hole thread. We haven't even left yet; how could it be? What's with the comparing / competing threads? I'm not out to make this better than anyone else's. I'm out to share some of our good time with PASR and that's it. We'll post pics, maybe some video and condition reports. If you like it great. If you don't I could give a rats ass. It's a trip report not a science fair project. Anyway Tuesday is looking like a Legit powder day. We'll most likely be at snowbird day 1.
  14. Frost is nice today. Spring bumps on Vader.
  15. It will be tough but I'll try. Dan the man doesn't like to stop for pictures. It kills his vert.
  16. Tomorrow night. PS - I'm not opposed the the most common word in the English language (the). Can a mod add it to the thread title? My apologies for the grammatical error.
  17. With Snowbird, Alta and Solitude on tap for next week and since these places are absolutely going off I figured I'd get the TR started a day early. Should be a fine week of skiing. Snowbird is reporting 22 inches in the last 48 hours (the canyon road is closed right now) with up to another 6 inches between now and Tuesday. Alta is reporting 16 inches over the past 24 hours. Also with another 6 on tap. Vail ("like nothing on earth" according to their website) is reporting 1 inch in the past 24 hours. Just thought I'd throw that out there. Anywho Pics to follow all this week of course but here are a few to get the stoke levels rising right now.
  18. The hotel / waterpark was a dumb idea anyway with Great Wolf Lodge literally right across the highway and H2O right up I-80. They seem to be doing fine without it.
  19. I'd be willing to bet that they absolutely are not closing on the 28th
  20. I like both places but Elk is an overall better mountain. As you know its pitch is sustained top to bottom. Sno's layout is good for some, not so good for others. It's flat at the top and steep at the bottom. Good skiers will stick to quad that services the north face basically cutting the vert in half while beginners stick to the top. That being said the steeps on the bottom are steeper than anything at elk. Sno has the long haul but it's kinda out of the way. Elk also has the winding trails like kickapoo that sno doesn't have. The lifts aren't the best at either place and the snow is good at both. In fact I think sno may actually have a leg up on elk with their fan guns. Every time I ski sno I'm riding the north face only (except for the last time I went where I got hooked on nastar.) whereas at elk I'm arcing wide turns on top to bottom trails like Susquehanna and slalom. Bottom line is drive the extra ten miles and go. You'll like it. Comparing sno to elk, I put elk ahead but that being said sno is by far better than most places south of it.
  21. No skiing for me today. - Looking like JF tomorrow with mulitple runs in happyland, turning like a mofo to get the legs burnin' before Utah.
  22. I'm cluless when it comes to terrain parks but if I had to guess maybe the terrain park scene is dimishing somewhat. BB Park - Their signature park over the past however many years has been a trail the entire season. Love Park is crazy looking but BB Park is a straight trail. With less demand, it's possible that less $$ is being spent on rails, additional snowmkaing for jumps etc. But like I said, I know more about tween pop stars than I do terrain parks so I could be dead wrong.
  23. lol...This sounds like one of my Daughter's math word problems. "10,000 Joey's are skiing at K-,Mart. 5000 are wearing jeans, 3000 have their jackets unzipped. 1000 got lost in the the woods. How many Joey's are left?"
  24. Beat me to it. Alta doesn't even have bars on the wildcat lift. Collins has a bar but no foot rest. I never put it down unless I have a student with me or if I'm "in uniform" with other people riding with me. Laziness I guess.
