Gore is a fun mountAin, lot’s to explore. Lots of boarders there but some of the traverses/flats must really suck

Minnewaska SP 2/2722
Last night I was searching for some favorable XCD conditions within day trip distance and was coming up empty when I stumbled on a decent snow report for Minnewaska SF XC trails. After some communication and navigational challenges got on the snow solo around 10:30. Some guidance in the parking lot had me on my way to the Castle rock trail on the skinny NNN setup, great fast snow, bright sun, mid 30’s and a breeze (quite stiff on the return NW exposures).
As an intermediate at best classic skier it was cool watching the skater boiz and girlz fly by me. I had never really skate ski’d and worked on it for a while until the ball of my right foot and arch objected , I even passed some little kids lol
Such a cool place with endless vistas of cliffs, hills and the mountain (Bearpen?)to the north. Ended up doing almost 9 mi for a great loop, hopefully not the last hurrah.

snow was fun last night. Temps dropped almost 20d over the almost 2 hours...snow was starting to stiffen up at the end making a choppy ride
Aliens left liquid cosmic dust in my truck!

Interesting looking place! What is there to do outside of ski season? Hike the mountain? Bars nearby or in it? If you would buy it outright any idea of the HOA fees?
Close to the finger lakes, good wine and beer, Ithaca is a cool city. The adventure center has zip lines and mountain coaster. Finger lakes trail traverses the back side of the mountain. They also have mountain biking. We've done a bunch of fall trips. HOA fees are $430, you get rental receipts less fees if its rented when you're not there, last month we got a a check for $380

we started taking done our "winter" decorations (10 gazillion snowmen) yesterday. I will leave the candles in the windows and frosty out front until the weekend. Will leave the chairlift lights on until closing day...
