  1. Most people wear helmets and it makes sense. I should have one on. I like the bar down, it gives me a false sense of security. I've been on the lift with people who pull the bar down instantly upon sitting down, but then push it up 3/4s of the way up the hill.??? We were on the six with a guy recently that got bonked with the bar when we got on, then bonked again when we put it up to get off, then the chair got him in the head after he stood up at the top, it was good he had a helmet on.

I get bonked so often, it was probably me...

  2. ZZSlope and Sexkitten are the only PASRs I know of who don't wear helmets.

Helmets are preferential. If you don't want to spend $50 to potentially save your life, that's your prerogative.

Not putting down the bar affects possibly 2-5 other people...

Many don't realize that they can feel fine after banging their head and go about their business, only to have brain swelling set it and a day or two later they're dead...

  3. My daughter and all her friends never put the bar down, it drives me crazy. Most people I've ridden up with don't mind when you put the bar down, as long as you give them plenty of warning. I've gotten clocked in the head by the bar, and it is annoying.

Yet another reason to wear a helmet!!

Good for a clunk in the helmet at least 1 time a session...

  4. This is a better solution. Resorts can even offer it per day, sold right at the ticket window.

Resorts probably wouldn't want to offer such an insurance as it would promote out of bounds skiing.

Kind of like those that say you shouldn't hang a "Beware of Dog" sign as it shows you know your dog may harm someone.

  5. I didn't even think of that but that's the way to go. Opens up Sidewinder which is a good skiing trail and gets the park people some space as maybe noobs won't be able to see it from the lift.

I'm thinking just a big wide straight down the line trail......

I think it depends on the existing terrain.

If it warrants a park, then so be it. But if they're gonna waste some good steep just to make a park, then no.

Regardless, the more terrain the better!

  6. Moguls on Chute! OMG, a smart decision by Blue. I like the fact that the moguls will act as a deterrent for most people and will thus improve skier flow on the mountain. How many times do you come down Main Street only to cast a glance leftward and upward looking for snowboarding bombers flying down Chute? I usually stop there specifically for that reason.

Not only that, but just people who flat-out don't belong going down the slope.

At least the smart ones take off their skis and walk back up or pop em and butt-slide down.

But then there are the many that just outta control bomb it with little way of stopping but biting it or worse, running into someone.

Good they put bumps on it! :clap2

  7. If it is a legit trail, I wonder if it is something that will eventually be incorporated into a larger east side push. Lots of property to that side for expansion right? Hotel? Indoor water park? The possibilities are endless...

Let's hope so. Perhaps cut it right so there are a number of good trails off of it, not just waste a ton of land on another cutback beginner's slope like Paradise.

I would think they'd build the hotel out where they're putting the water park for easy access to the road.
