  1. What's with people this year and the early-drop, early-lift of the bar?

I've gotten helmet clunked a couple of times already this year after getting on the chair.

No sooner than you sit down, but someone's dragging the bar down without saying a word.

Then, you barely get to the crest of the Challenge and they're putting the bar up already!

Uh, you realize we're still 20-30' in the air and a couple of more lift supports to go before the end?

Some people are so eager to put the bar down, but yet even more eager to lift it back up.

One time I had my feet on the bar at the crest of Challenge and someone yelled "We gotta lift the bar!".

Do they not realize it takes about 2 seconds to lift it?

  2. The joys were over 5 years ago when I bought my first place. I still enjoy it, though. Especially after building this house. A much different experience.

Is still rather come home and do something rather than sit on Facebook or every message board known to man. I really enjoy keeping a nice yard and making improvements. It's not for everybody, though. Some people like it, and some people would rather spend their time at Sheetz.

Indeed, building a place is far more fun than just buying an already existing house. It's all so new!!

Have a kid or two, then the house goes by the wayside!

  3.

i think cause the way blue is set up the noobs leave the lodge and get to chute and are like "oh shit, this is the only way down" and thus scrape down or go down on their ass. i did it my first time at blue like 12 years ago when i could barely ride lol

The noobs get tired of riding the Vista chair and go in search of new terrain...

Sunday afternoon, with all the fresh snow from Saturday, had lower Main Street filled with bumps.

People coming off Midway & Chute were screaming how big the moguls were and that they weren't gonna go down it again!

  4. You live in Princeton so I'd just allow maybe 3 hours to get home. 22 to 145 might be a better bet than taking 248

Worst part might be Jugtown Mountain, depending.

Going way out to 145 seems long an awfully long way around. 248 is usually kept pretty clean, just the hills you have to watch for.

  5. indiggio blue isn't gonna be crowded tomorrow.... I know you stick around full days on weekends which is awesome. I used to do that. I just usually have my fill after 2-3 hours.

I don't think it's gonna be mega crowded either, but I do think it's gonna be more so than the past weekends, mainly because the south got snow, so that's gonna pull them out.

Lots will be up for the morning at least, depending on when the flakes start flying.

How often do you get to ski a Pocono snow storm?

  6. I heard Beau was at the job fair...I'm friends with him on Facebook, I should ask him if he's coming back. All the other liftline people are so passive or they don't bother to heard people into groups of six and just yell at people, 6 to a chair..

I hope so, he is the only attendant that has a clue (perhaps that why he left Blue...) as to how to run the 6-pack lines, keep them balanced and keep the VIPs happy!

When the lines on the six and the quad are to the lodge area I'm at home.

What? You're gonna leave and miss the snow tomorrow???

  7. Honestly the rest of the season I might go on the Main Street and Burma lifts 3 times...

Nah, when the lines at the 6 and quad are out to the lodge area, I head back to the doubles.

They may be slow, but EVERYONE goes to the bottom and ignores the doubles.

I just keep on lapping Main Street and Lazy then.

  8. I was wondering that as well. Only thing I can think is, they think it's too narrow?

Nothing that few beers and chainsaws wouldn't fix...

Blue should also do away with the double double and just put another detachable quad and just not run it at full speed, in order to keep the on slope numbers the same.

Far easier for beginners to get onto a detachable than the fixed-speed, thigh bangers...

  9. Blue needs to call the run between chute and midway something so they have 40 runs.

    Skull Cracker?

I always wondered why they don't just blow below the lift between Come Around and Chute, everyone poaches it anyway?

They could just widen the area where it attaches to chute to prevent such a hard turn.

Most of the other mountains have lift line runs...

  10. Roads are more dangerous when there is only a small amount of snow as evidenced by yesterday.

Coming home from Blue yesterday, I was following a nice, new Mustang.

Coming up on a stop sign, he hit the brakes and the black ice under the snow had him careening towards the sign.

He came to a stop a foot or so from the sign, then jammed on the gas to try to get out of the little ditch, amazingly he made it.

Nothing like AWD to go to Blue and back...
