  1. gotta add... there is no snow in that park, hence lack of features. Plus id rather have decent coverage with less features, than a jamed packed layout and rails falling out due to lack of snow. But hey that's me lol.
  2. Here is the trail setup: 30' jump, 30' jump, butter pad (step up to step down) barrel bonk, flat down box, tire jib, upslope box, 5' log spine, down rail, 10' drainage pipe spine all complete with the best flow of the year... and yes very nice coverage.
  3. free lift tickets to anyone in costume sunday at shawnee... plus a reconstructed park, less features than normal, but wicked fun.
  4. Ahh and I almost forgot! Mad love to my locals a Shawnee. You guys are what really pushed the park this year. With your (physical) help, insight, and ideas I think we were able to show everyone that even with a small mountain... we can still have a great park. You know who you are. Thank you.
  5. I Just wanted to let everyone know that we saved the trail from near disaster yesterday with the recent warmth and rain. We spent nearly 20hrs pushing snow and designing new features and setups to shape up the park. The park has a whole new look for what could be one of our last weekends. For those who have and haven't visited this season I ask for you to come by this weekend to check out the park and to participate in Sunday's Costume event. Anyone wearing a costume gets a free lift ticket... yes even I will be rockin a costume. I will be posting some new pics tommorow once I get home from riding. I'm super stoked and proud with what we were able to acomplish this week... see you this weekend!
  6. Hey everyone, I hoped that this topic's title would lure more people into viewing it But really I wanted everyone to know that this week the park at Shawnee will be closed to prepare for the weekend. I will be reconstructing the trail layout once again and will be rebuilding the park with some amaizing hits and will be introducing more unique features than ever before. For those that have visited earlier this week you have already seen the new upslope-box. There is way more to come. If you haven't visited Shawnee yet this year, don't miss this giant opportunity to come ride our "hidden gem" terrain park. Also on Sunday March 19th will be the 23rd Annual Costume Carnival Day. Those in costume receive FREE day lift ticket. Costume parade and judging at 1:00 pm with great prizes. I hope to see everyone there this weekend! ~ Keith ~
  7. I've stated the need for plexiglass on that thing all year. Not that we will get it now lol, but I just wanted to make my case again. The wall shoould be fixed within the next day, if its not fixed already.
  8. Thanks everyone for coming out... I definatly had a blast.
  9. Tanglwood is now closed as of 3/5/06... haha not surprised
  10. They have separate pumping stations for each mountain... They do have pretty nice snowmaking as well. Remember that their primary market is freestlyle snowboarding, so a very high amount of snow gets pumped into their parks and that pipe which gives them their primary income. As for crowds... the make a profit every year because of their proximity to NYC... 40 miles from a major metro area = $$$. No other PA area can match that. With a corp. like Intrawest backing you up you know you're making money lol
  11. Construction is begining tonight to prepare for Sunday's Comp... Here are some features that I know will be in the comp: Mailbox "Option" Upslope Flatbox C-Box Wallride Flat Down Rail Dual Layer Box Most Likely... Yet Up In The Air: Down Rail Down Flat Down Rail Flat Down Box Trust me when I say that everyone is going to have great line choices, so I must ask... how creative can you be?
  12. We dont want to create age groups just yet... me may do that on the spot because we do not know how many people are going to be entering. This way we can see the amount of people in age brackets to make it most fair. here is an idea: 8-13, 14-17, 18-22, 22+ Im sure that will be tinker'd with
  13. we will have the trail open by 230, and the re4st of the trail should be open during the railjam this coming sunday... march 5th and the setup is yet to be determinded... i have to many ideas to choose from.
  14. Hey people, This is Keith the terrain park manager over at Shaw. Just wanted to let you guys in on the comp details. The event will hold two competitions in one. The first will be a slopestyle event with the best of two to three (depending on the turnout) runs. The second event "the rail jam" I am under control. I am haveing a jam session format. You will be given a certain amount of time (most likely 45mins) to hike and hit as many features as you can, then we will select the top ten to jam one more time. then we will pick our winners. if your under 18 u need a rents signature The contest is limited... first come first served. Sign in is UPSTAIRS in the HOPE LODGE on sunday from 8:30am-9:30am SHARP. The event will begin at 11AM. discount lift tickets for competitors are availible for $30 and there is an entry fee of $15. no one under 8 years old. HELMETS are mandatory.
  15. I see... just realize that Creeks marketing is aimed almost completely at park riding snowboarders. And right now the fad is street. I happen to love streetstyle, its adds such a level of dif. that really pushes you. at the same time I love to give the people the choice... if done correctly you can actually create a dual setup for features, making them street and regular at the same time... either by multipule take offs or gap placement. but the real key is to have 2 lines... reg and street of the same rails. thats my opinion, just give enough options.
  16. 15 dollars for both comps... there will be a limit to the amount of riders/skeirs so log onto our site to find out more info on signing up. a ton of sawg will be on hand as well
  17. what was it about their setup that you hated? haha i can use this info
  18. I need to look over the weather reports and snow conditions after we make some snow in there, so I'll know what I am working with in the next two days or so. It will be two competitions sunday... a morning slopestyle event and a rail jam about an hour after the first event. Ill be in charge of the rail jam end of the comp, as well as trail design. I have a setup in mind, but again I need to so what I'm gonna have to work with later in the week. Construction should begin wed or thursday night. Each night we will make small chages through out the park and by sat/sun we will have a masterpiece. (even a brand new jump) peace for now people!
  19. Anyone ever take into consideration that its jersey? haha this is the east coast not lake tahoe where the snow is almost always perfect and soft. From what i was told from a lot of guys that were in the comp that it was awsome. and on the best park opinions... im def gonna say stratton. they know how to run their parks. great setups, very nice jibs, (i happen to love creeks) and they have the vert and snow to make things happen in terms of variety. I didnt like killingtons jibs when i visited. but their jumps were amaizing. and i hear okemo has an amaizing park tho i havent been there myself.
  20. I don't care what anyone says... I live and work at a PA ski resort, and I have been everywhere. Creek's parks are among the best in the east. Their jibs are definatly close to number one and destroy anything found here in PA. I wouldn't be so quick to judge something so great. And being ranked is not about being payed off... im sure intrawest has something to do with it lol, but really their park is unmatched.
  21. Hey everyone, Just wanted to let you know that Shawnee has posted a new terrain park video. Click here to view!
  22. Sometimes you need to adjust your plans to the weather conditions. If you end up doing what you want anyway and nothing else cooperates, then you are in a world of hurt. And i'm glad they have the double jibs there now... it has great line options.
  23. ill be there... oh wait I'm there everyday lol, and i guess not enough people are interested in shawnee... post some topics on why this is, i would love to hear some views.
