    President's day

Had a pretty great day at Camelback. Got there around 9:00. Not too crowded early. Was surprised how nice the weather was. Thank god it was not windy. Spent about an hour on the Coolmoor Beginner Area with my 5 year old. He struggled his first few runs but ended the day great. I tried to move him over to the small lift to Laurel glade. He got nervous and fell a few times but ended strong making a few nice turns. When he took his break I took a few runs on Asp. Pretty nice snow although there were a few icy spots. Overall a great day.

    Friday 15th

It was great to ski on a weekday. There were like 20 people on the mountain for the first hour. I am not good enough to ski white lightning but had some nice runs on Boomer. Smoke had some pretty big ice patches.
  3. We get there at 8 on sunday and always get a great parking spot. It starts getting a little crowded around 10:30.
  4. I am heading to sno. Should be there early. I have an extra $25 Sno Voucher that I bought from CBS. It is good for a full day of skiing except but not valid for this sat, sunday or Monday. If anyone is interested I can meet you up there tomorrow.
  5. I found a great deal but am not sure about getting scammed. Seller wants to use paypal and said he would use US Mail 2 day delivery. Any thoughts/suggestions?

    Sunday 1/28

Nice day at Camelback. Started off on the Stevenson express area. Went down Near East to Pocono Raceway. We took a run on Pharoah and then had a great run on Cliff hanger. We decided to go down honeymoon to get to Marjie, Rocket, Asp and Hump. Anyone else feel like your legs work harder on the green trails? Took a nice break in the Cameltop Lodge. First time I have been in there and it is an awesome view. We took a run down Big Pocono and then moved on to the Rocket. Trail conditions were okay but a little strange. Camelback marked the trail as ungroomed terrain. They had taken out the moguls and it looked like they blasted the trail with snow last night. There were some areas that was good snow but other areas where the snow was piled up. Took a few more runs then called it a day. I thought Asp was the best trail of the day.

    Sunday 1/28

Heading up to Camelback early with my brother. Should be an awesome day. This will be the first time this season to ski without worrying about my son or wife who prefers intermediate only. We should be at CBK Lodge booting up around 8:15. Anyone else heading up.
  8. I really enjoyed Stratton. Thought the Grizzly bar was cool and the lodge Mid mountain was nice too. I remember Mount Snow being fun, it was my first Vermont experience and did my first Black Diamond there. I have become a much more confident skier and wasn't sure if it would live up to my memories of it since I have been to Killington, Stratton and Pico more recently. I am excited about the intermediate trails and spending time with my family. I think Mount Snow id the way to go. I think Pico has been my favorite Mountain so far. Anyone ever done Upper KA? Awesome trail.
  9. I am heading up late February. I have been to Mount Snow, Stratton, Killington and Pico. My first Vermont trip about 6 years ago was at Mount Snow and I had a great time. I want to choose a Mountain that is best for skiers comfortable with Intermediate trails in the Poconos. My wife and father (62) are going. I remember Mount snow having a lot of nice Blue trails. Any thoughts?
  10. So now Jackson Frost is called JFK...wow Ive gotta stay current with the lingo. Damn auto correct. I held out as long as possible with getting Iphone. Now I need to Learn how to use it.
  11. I am putting my son in snow snakes. Anybody I should request for him. He is 5. He has had 3 lessons the past 2 years. When his lesson is over I will be on frosty the rest of the day
  12. Coming up again Sunday. Probably do a morning session. Anyone else heading to JF?
  13. We are done. Have a great day. Hopefully catchup next time
  14. In lodge ridge. Knee feels great. Nice run on river shot. Wife is more comfortable on blues so probally lap exhibition, demise, thunder and challenge rest of the day. What is best way to spot you guys to meet up?
  15. Thanks for the advice mom. Went out and bought a pair of sweat pants that the brace fits under comfortably. Ridge would love to take a few runs with you guys. Will be with my wife she will have a hot pink coat and white helmet. You will recognize me as the guy struggling to get my brace situated. We will be there for first lift.
  16. Can't wait to get up there tomorrow. My Dr. recommends me to wear my brace this year. Anyone else ever wear a hinge brace skiing? I usually wear underarmour coldgear but woman who fitted my brace said it should make contact with my skin. It is going to be pretty cold tomorrow. Has anyone ever wore underarmour under a brace? Thanks.
  17. If you have not signed up for cbs local deals before please send me an email through the personal messenger. If you sign up and use me as a referal I get a $10 credit. You can use the coupon password cyber5 to get a $5 discount on any purchase over $25. Offer expires on Sunday. You can only use the discount once for each account. I also saw Shawnee mid week ticket for $22.50 on local offers New York.
  18. CBS Local Offers Philly has $25 Lift tickets for the next 10 days
  19. Might have to see if I know anyone who owns a house in Eagle Rock. I agree about the crowds being smaller at JFBB. Only place that might be better for crowds is Sno.
  20. Was pretty bummed to see I have to pay $40 for a lift ticket for my 5 year old. Last year 5 year olds were free with a purchase of an adult lift ticket. I just bought him cosigned boots, skis and a helmet today thinking he would ski at JFBB for free all year. I guess we will go to Blue, Camelback, or Shawnee as he will be free there.
  21. I still have three vouchers for Pico. I spent $39 but can not use them. I don't want to get stuck with them so let me know if anyone is interested. Would probably sell them for $30 or best offer. Just looking to get some money back for what I put out.

    Camelback 3/2

My wife is there now. Mountain is empty and she is having a good time. Here confidence is high and she is thinking about doing her first real black (Marjorie's Delight). She is bragging about being the best skier in the family this year.

    Camelback 3/2

This was my first trip to a mountain this year since I can't ski because of the ACL. I had bought a triple ticket and exchanged that to get my 4 year old a private lesson. It was awesome to watch my boy learning with his instructor Tracy. She did a great job. My wife and Father skied while we were getting my sons rental equipment. They said snow was pretty good and the mountain was empty since there was a fog and being midweek. It was hard to watch other ski and not be able to myself. Toughest part of the day was watching my wife and dad skiing with my son on the coolmoor beginner trail. They were trying to hold his hand and tried using a harness. I wanted them to let him loose. He started yelling stop to my wife so she would stop and he would fall. I asked him what he meant and he said, "I wanted her to stop turning, I only like to turn if something is in my way." Overall a good day but I can't wait until next season.
  24. Wish I could go. Thought this might help someone else. http://offers.cbslocal.com/deal/6473/50-percent-discount-on-full-day-lift-tickets/philadelphia
