  2. http://store.montagemountainresorts.com/specials/copy-of-columbus-day-sale-30-free-with-purchase-of-a-70-gift-card $70 for $100 gift card
  3. All done. Would like to head up to Vermont but wife won't allow that plus baseball season has started for the kids.
  4. About 10 years now. Usually average 6-8 times up to the mountain a year.
  5. It was only about 1-2 inches. I loved the cinnamon but felt gross after eating 2.
  6. Drove up to Stroudsburg Holiday Inn Express on Sunday night. My son was excited to go for a swim but the heater was not working in the pool or hot tub. We were upgraded to a king suite with a jacuzzi.($103). Next morning started off with a nice continental breakfast. Warm Cinnamon roll was delicious and disgusting at the same time. Had trouble looking at myself in the mirror after eating it. Arrived at Camelback at 9:30. Lot was empty. I was glad that they didn't try to charge $20 for the reserved parking lot. I have never seen Camelback this empty. It was awesome when you don't have to wait in line all day. Powder day in late march. First 2 runs were king tut. I was struggling on the fresh powder as it was very sticky. I think my extra weight was sinking me into the snow. My wife and son were loving floating down the mountain. I knew I had to get on something a little steeper. We worked out way to the other side of the mountain. My wife and son took Nile mile and I hit cliffhanger. This was the run of the day. Snow was perfect and fast. I stopped on the side of the trail to watch my family come down nile mile. Cliffhanger was so good that I had to do it again as the others went back to the main lodge. While they were in the lodge I i took a run down Marjories delight. Once again a fun run with great conditions. The hardest part of the trail was at near the lift as the weather warmed up it started to get slushy. After a break in the empty lodge we went back out for a few more runs. I went down Asp and almost had a fall when I hit a huge ice spot. We then made our across cleopatra to pocono raceway. We had to cut across the terrain park and get enough speed to get over a 2-3 foot lip onto the trail. My son did not get enough speed and got stuck. I popped off my skis to help him over. He was disappointed with himself that he didn't get over the lip. His spirits lifted when I fell and slid about 10 feet trying to get my skis on while on an incline. Pocono raceway had the best conditions of any blue on the mountain. We took 1 more run down Pharaoh to pocono raceway. At this point our legs were done. On the way home we stopped at the Loft. My wife bought a Northface Jacket for $119 and a turtle fur gaiter. This is a good sign that she will be invested in another great season next year. This was probably my best season. Two trips to Vermont plus great times with my son and daughter.
  7. I was there today. Conditions were pretty awesome. Smallest crowds I have ever seen. Challenge and Rivershot had great snow

    Spring break

What are the chances camelback is open during the week March 29-April 4? I am hoping to head up on Monday 3/30.
  9. Heading up tomorrow. My four year old daughter is coming for her first time this year. Going to put her in snow monsters.
  10. We were supposed to head up on Thursday but snowstorm and fear of icy roads pushed our trip back to Friday. I was pretty excited driving up route 100. Pretty awesome seeing Bromley and Magic on our way up. Arrived in Ludlow around 6:00 on Friday. Ludlow is a cool little New England town. We stayed at the Timber Inn. Pretty nice room with great views of Okemo. On saturday we arrived at Okemo at 7:40 and were on the lift at 8:15. The lodge and Mountain were crowded. We found out that t was the winter festival for the Connecticut Ski Association and they brought an estimated 6,000 people to the mountain. Our first two runs were nice. We took the Sunburst 6 bubble to the summit. My son turned to me in line and said, "the ride was worth it for these upgrades." The heated seats were nice especially with a temperature of 17 degrees and a light snow. Conditions were awesome. Our first run was on the green trail Sunburst, Coleman brook to Mountain road. It was a long nice run with great views. Our second run was intermediate trail Saphire. This was a really nice wide trail and we had the trail to ourselves. This was the last run without a crowd. My wife, son and father took a break at the summit lodge and I took a run down black diamond Defiance. It was a nice trail that skied like an intermediate trail. After that I met up with the group and we took a run down Sunburst to Heavens Gate. Trail was very crowded and my son had his first fall. He was a little shaken so we finished down Mountain road which was a shit show at this point. I felt like I was driving on 95 near New York City. We stopped for lunch and checked out my son at the mid mountain lodge. After that break we thought we would try to avoid crowds on the south face and do green trail Dreamweaver. There was no avoiding the crowds. This trail was steeper and more crowded than the other trails we had been on. My dad called it quits for the day and took Mountain road back to the base lodge. We headed to Jackson Gore area on Blue moon to Lower Limelight. My quads were screaming after this run. We sat outside of a crowded Jackson Gore lodge for a few minutes. As everyone rested I went back out and took a run down vortex and quantum leap these were nice steep trails. Probably my best run of the day except my quads felt like Jelly. We skied our way back to the base area to meet my dad. I went out for one more run down upper fall line to ledge. These were both nice steep trails. I picked up a lot of speed on ledge in the easy way skiers right of the mogul field. We skied sunday from 8:30-12:30. Crowds were much more manageable and the mountain was much more enjoyable. We used the sunburst 6 for our first 2 runs. My wife and son decided they wanted to do Defiance. It was pretty cool as this was there first Vermont Black Diamond. They were both very proud after the run. We then took Jolly Green Giant down the face of the mountain. We then took a bunch of intermediate runs in the solitude are. It was a nice are of the mountain and the snow was great. Sidewinder got really crowded as a green ran into it and there were a lot of people who did not belong on the trail. worked our way to south face to ride down Rim rock an catnap. Catnap was a mistake as it was mostly skating and cross country skiing. Funniest part of the trail was when my son saw a guy hit a bump and get air and he follows the guy and gets some air himself. Okemo was a fun mountain especially on day 2 with smaller cows and after we became more familiar with the mountain. I would tell anyone with younger kids that this is a great family friendly mountain. IMG_0494.MOV
  11. We are going to head up tomorrow after the sun hits the roads. We will ski saturday and Sunday. We need to find a hotel room for Saturday.
  12. This storm is screwing up my Trip to Okemo. We were supposed to leave earlier today but the snow just kept coming. Thinking about driving halfway up tonight. How are the roads up in Lehigh valley. Looking to take 78 to 287. Can salvage my ski day tomorrow if I can make it to New Paltz.
  13. I am 39. She mentioned letting me go out west for my 40th. Just don't know if I can afford it. Real excited to ski with my father, wife and son at Okemo. Skiing is a great family activity.
  14. He wore one on the second day. I had an extra brand new helmet and he forgot to bring it to the mountain. He got thrown off of the North face lift and banged his head. I think he learned his lesson.
  15. Beard on left with wife in Pink
  16. Awesome trip to Mount Snow last week. Went to the mountain with my wife and 2 of our friends. It was the first trip without the kids for almost 7 years. So nice to eat without the kids fighting crying and yelling. We arrived in West Dover at 9:00 Wednesday night and went to our go to restaurant, The Last Chair, for a beer and Nachos. Checked in at the Snow Lake Lodge around 10:30. Not a 5 star hotel but the location and price were perfect for a getaway. $69 a person which included our lift ticket. We also paid $30 extra for the suite. Hotel was loud since 200 high school kids were there for the night and we heard every door open and slam until about midnight and started back up at 7:00. I didn't mind the 7:00 as I planned to get to the mountain early. Feb. 12 Snow had started early in the morning and continued all day. 23 degrees on the mountain. It was a perfect day. Probably my best ski experience ever. We used the bluebird express bubble lift to start the day. First run was Ridge. This might be my favorite trail on the mountain. Snow was perfect. It is funny how an intermediate trail in Vermont is steeper than most black diamonds in the Poconos. My wife and I met our friends at the bottom of Ridge. They had started on the green, Long John. Next run was was Cascade to Canyon. It was definitely becoming a powder day. At this point there was an inch over the groomed trails. I suggested a break at the summit lodge and as soon as everyone agreed, I decided to meet them after a run on the North Face trail Fallen Timbers. This is a fun groomed Black Diamond. Most of the trails on North Face were bumped up. We then took a break in the lodge for a coffee and a chocolate chip cookie. After the break we decided to bring the women down River Run so they could take the lift up the North Face and see the trails. At the top of the lift we headed to Sunbrook and went down Sunspot to Thanks Walt. I love the sun brook area as it is generally empty. This is the first time that I ever saw the Sunbrook quad running. On the lift ride up everyone decided it was time for Lunch. we took Ridge to the lodge and ate lunch at Cuzzins. I had a Long trail ale and shock top that my wife didn't finish. After lunch the snow total was about 2-3 inches. The girls were feeling good after a beer so we went down Lodge. They all handled the trail with no problem. My next 2 runs were Fallen timbers and Chute on the North Face. Legs were burning so the day was almost over. Girls went down long John to finish the day. My buddy and I went down Exhibition to hit some small moguls. I had my first fall after launching off of a mogul. It was pretty funny. Went back and sat in the outdoor hot tub. Temperatures were dropping and the wind was picking up. Feb. 13 -35 degrees when we woke up with wind chill. Legs were sore as shit so we took our time getting to mountain. Got on Mountain at noon when the temperature was 0 and -13 wind chill. We decided to have quality over quantity today and take breaks after each run to avoid frost bite. The lodge was very crowded. Over 6000 people took advantage of the valentines special $24.50 lift ticket. Coldest time was waiting to get on Bluebird express. Our first run was on South Bowl and I realized this was going to be a difficult day for the girls. Conditions were packed powder/icy and fast as shit. The girls froze up on the trail. The snow the day before did not allow them to see how steep the trails were. The clear skies and speed really unnerved them. After a few falls, by my friends wife we got down the trail and headed back in the lodge. Our friends decided to go on the green trails, so my wife and I took Cascade to over brook. This was the run of the day. Overbrook is a natural trail. We were able to find soft snow that had been tracked out but it was fun and a leg burner. Our next run was cascade to Snow Dance. Snow dance was a fun, wide trail. It was perfectly groomed and I was having fun doing giant slalom turns. My wife called it a day so I wanted 1 more run. I met my friends and headed to Ridge. The wind had blown a lot of snow off of the trail and I was shocked to be skiing one of the steeper parts of the trail and realizing it was a sheet of ice. After 2 inches of snow in 10 days on the mountain I was not expecting ice and almost fell on the trail. Although I only had 4 runs it was a great day even in the frigid temperatures. Looking forward to Okemo in 3 weeks.
  17. 49 inches of snow in the last 9 days. Going to be nice not to hear ice user my skis. Going to try to be on first chair tomorrow
  18. Arrived at Camelback at 7:50 and parked at the CBK Lodge. This Is a much better parking option if you are at the mountain early. We parked 50 feet from the lodge and it is free. The suckers that pay $20 for preferred parking walk much further than that to be in a crowded main lodge. We went up Raceway lift and found Pocono raceway closed due to racing. We went down Bactrian to the Stevenson Express. We did 2 runs on nile mile and the snow was great. No lift lines. My next run was cliff hanger. There were moguls skiers right and the rest of the trail was ungroomed but fairly even. Found some icy spots on the headwalls and snow conditions overall were not great on the trail. We then worked our way over to the Sullivan express. My son and I did a run on Upper cleopatra and the king tut. Both had great snow and were a lot of fun. When he went for a break in the Cameltop Lodge I took 2 runs down Rocket. It was pretty cool to let him see me going down a fairly steep trail. Snow was great and I would say they were the runs of the day. After breaking we did a few more trails on the blue terrain and my son called it quits. I decided to take a few more. On my way up the mountain it started to rain. I did a run on Pharoah and then tried to find a way back to the CBK lodge and this point it was poring and my googles could have used windshield wipers. Called it a day and headed to Tannersville diner. Great day much better and fewer crowds than last Sunday.

    Best ski mask/hood?

I have an underarmour and sirius ski mask but am keeping my options open for something warmer with the forecast in Vermont being -1 on Friday.
  20. I was leaning toward snow monsters also. Thanks
  21. Conditions do look awesome. Thanks for advice on the wax.
  22. Pumped to get to Vermont with my wife and without the kids. I am a little concerned with the forecast. It's going to be cold as shit. Thursday High of 16 low of -6, Friday high of -4 Low of -14.
