I can see her falling off the chair with the bar down, alot of lifts don't have the footrests and if you're a smaller person you could easily slip through the gap. If her skis got caught in a support tower it probably ripped her out of the chair fairly easily.
Just got there for a few runs after work. If I wasn't meeting people at the bar later I wouldn't have went. It's horrible. They'll be closed sunday with the rain. They really need a cold spell.
They had more coverage in April of last year on the last day than what they're open with on some trails right now.
There's like 7 features right now because of the lack of snow but they literally set them up so staggered down the mountain you can't hit a consistant lin or flow through I line without having to cut across 50 percent of the trail.
Blue also is a little bit colder. Trust me I want bear full swing just as much as anyone else, but they haven't really had the weather for it. Could they have opened earlier? Probably. The long range wasn't there for them yet this year.
Patience. We need all need to learn to be patient. The weather will come. And for christ sake, it's southeastern pa were talking about, we should be happy were riding anything before Christmas.
Guns are on. Hopefully they can really pound the mountain whIle they have the chance.
And yes doug, we know blue is open, bear creek sucks, hope they'll open before February, shaking my herman, rack it, pure gold, etc.
It's nice that they have that set up, I'm considering going tomorrow for a little bit, but I feel like it's going to be jam packed with people.
Actually, they had a early season hike park on the lower half of black bear around 2 or 3 years ago I think.
It's not. They could have opened at least a week ago with a few trails. Instead they try to be open 100% the first day. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they didn't open till after the 12th. They've been dragging their feet. Yes the weather this past week has been shitty but they did not take advantage of the snowmaking weather when they had it. I haven't bought my pass yet and after how the past few years have gone, I might just go with the college pass from jfbb for the same price. Only reason I get a pass there is because it's 10 minutes door to door and doesn't take out a huge chunk of my day if I want to ride.
Oh, that and they still have weddings going on right now sooooo......
I haven't bought mine yet......
But all signs lead to them opening tuesday which is stupid. I'd be surprised if they even sell 50 tickets. It's kind of redicuLois that ski patrol is getting emails saying the 2nd, yet when you call bear they just say "sometime this week"
