  1. I do both. I started park skiing as a new challenege. When you ride bear creek 4 days a week you need something different to keep you entertained
  2. Up flatbar to staircase.
  3. I was going along the line of people who ride more than 3 times a year. I can count at least 15 people I know who made the switch to skiing, myself included who ride regularly. But yes, snowboarding seems meore appealing to the newbs because it's glorified and shown more in media outlets like the xgames, dew tour, etc.
  4. Skiing is definatley on the rise and snowboarding on the decline, but it's just the way trends go.
  5. Some of the classics include: gss vs ttc6 gss vs papasteeze papasteeze vs skidad or whatever his name was. And countless others. Oh and who could forget about dharrisburg and his mini bikes
  6. Yes the jumps were mellowed out. The bottom of the down flat down is literally in the snow, candy cane is super low, s rail is super low,etc etc. Looks like they've been blasting the mountain every night. I will say this though, park crew has been out digging out features, raking, etc alot more this year than in past years so hats off to you guys on that.
  7. lower blackbear will probably happen as everything is completely buried
  8. Need more modified ford focus' there. I'm the only one.
  9. Those style jumps are awesome for learning new stuff and hot laps through the park. Low risk for the most part
  10. Correct. The lip of the knuckle would be level to the lip of the jump. I'll try to find a picture to upload. Btw, I didn't mean that for the next build, they require a good amount of snow. Much like this one you had last year.
  11. A nice 40 foot step over would be nice to see this year.
  12. They were bhilt horribly. They have basically no landings to them. The landing on the second jump was way to steep for how far the jump sent you, the knuckle on the top jump was more like a drop off rather than being a smooth, rolled transition. I'm not saying take the jumps out, but it would benefit everyone if they were pushed out and started over. I wasn't saying take everything out that people get hut on but when someone is hurt on the same feature every 3rd time you ride the lift then something is obviously wrong. Jerry's will hit everything and anything, I did not see one solid park rider hit those jumps yesterday most likely because they saw how poorly they were built. There was really nothing park crew could do about it with shovels as it clearly looked like a an issue that stemmed from how they were groomed. It takes me at least 15 minutes to get to bear from kutztown, and that's with only 1 traffic light in Tipton. There's no way you can make it from 22 to bear creek in 15 minutes even if you hit every green light
  13. This, both of them are shit. Push them out and start over before someone gets seriously hurt. I saw 3 people down in the course of an hour tonight while I was there on just those two little jumps alone.
  14. Rode killington bell to bell and good fucking christ it was painfully cold. I'll post up a report saturday when I get home.
  15. Time to just block those two then so I don't have to see the useless crap they fill random threads with.
  16. You're right, but thats what happens when your manager leaves and park crew is left to set everything up. I know I liked it because I was tired of there being all low level stuff last year. Jeff or toast, can you clean up the shit out of this thread?
  17. Candy cane, flat circle rail past the dfd, and the circle to up kink were all basically ride on Friday. Not to mention the two propane tanks. That leaves the s rail, double barrel flat down, rainbow, dfd, and pole jam as advanced rails. I thought it was pretty evenly distributed
  18. I thought it was alot of fun, but you are right about it being advanced.
  19. Packed house today but conditions were good. Rode 11 to 7, park is awesome right now. When the snow is fast you set up some good lines, it probably flows real wwell but wth the crowds today it was impossible to flow through more than 3 rails without a jerry getying in your way
  20. Guns are still on, should be in pretty good shape by the weekend if the forecast holds up
  21. I can see her falling off the chair with the bar down, alot of lifts don't have the footrests and if you're a smaller person you could easily slip through the gap. If her skis got caught in a support tower it probably ripped her out of the chair fairly easily.
  22. Just got there for a few runs after work. If I wasn't meeting people at the bar later I wouldn't have went. It's horrible. They'll be closed sunday with the rain. They really need a cold spell. They had more coverage in April of last year on the last day than what they're open with on some trails right now.
  23. Eh, send her to the mall with the plastic, cook a nice steak dinner with a nice bottle of wine, and bang her to sleep and she'll forget all about it.
